The Saviour's illness

Jade Star asked for a oneshot of *season 6 spoilers!* Storybrooke in chaos with Mister Hyde and the Evil Queen and the rest of the untold story villains running around. Emma contracts the same hand shaking illness Aladdin has. Her parents try to help her.

She was weak. Everything hurt. She couldn't so much as stand on her own two feet without the world spinning. Yet still, Emma had to try. No, not try, she had to force herself to get up and get out there. Storybrooke needed her. They needed their Saviour.

"What are you doing out of bed?" Snow asked, alarmed, when Emma stumbled down the stairs and was staggering towards the front door. She couldn't even walk straight. Her back was hunched and she was swaying heavily from side to side. Emma was using the couch and kitchen counters to help her find her way to the door.

"Hyde." Emma grunted, the effort of walking taking all the little energy that she had. "Evil Queen. The others. They need to be stopped…"

"Yes, but not by you." Charming said firmly. "You're sick, Emma. This won't be helping." Truth be told, neither Snow nor Charming knew what would help. They'd had Emma seen by both Whale and Doc. Even Blue, Regina and Zelena (they were a bit apprehensive with her visit, even with Regina supervising). Whatever was making Emma so ill was not from this world. Nor was it from the Enchanted Forest, Whale's homeland or Oz. Doctor Jekyll was also able to confirm that he had never seen such an illness in the Land of Untold Stories, so this wasn't Mister Hyde's doing. The problem was, Emma wasn't getting any better. In fact, she was getting worse. Nobody had any known way of helping her, and her parents were becoming increasingly worried. Not that they could show that in front of Emma. They refused to have her worry. Until someone was able to find out what this illness was and cure her, they would nurse her as best they could with the little knowledge they had of her symptoms.

Charming picked Emma up and brought her over to the couch so she could lie down again. Snow felt her forehead and frowned. Her fever had spiked again. Emma was struggling to get up again.

"Emma, no." Charming said firmly. "Think this through. You're too ill to face off against any villain. Focus your energy on getting better and then we'll deal with all of them…"

"I haven't got time to focus on getting better." Emma snapped, frustrated with her own illness. "I'm the Saviour. I need to do my job, dad." Emma looked up at him, pleading. "Please, let me go out there and at least try." Charming sighed, he hated seeing her like this. He bent down so he and Emma were eye level.

"Emma, I'm sorry, but I can't let you put your health on the line." He told her. "Just focus on getting better. For us." Emma looked down, feeling defeated. Snow took Emma's face into her hands.

"Your dad's right, Em. Regina, Zelena and the others can handle things right now. What we need from you is for to get better." Emma didn't respond, she was still too frustrated with herself. Snow and Charming just didn't know what to do. Right now they didn't know if Emma would get better until they, or someone else, managed to find a diagnosis and eventual cure. They just prayed that it was soon. This was getting far too serious.
