Took me long enough, but I got a good excuse! The one and only, everyone's archenemy, school! (I know, not the best excuse, but not the worst either).
Enough of me trying to explain my absence, I'll do that later. To the Chapter!
Gregor woke up early, with all the preparations finished for some time now, there wasn't a whole lot to do, except party!
He personally woke Larry and Angelina up, he didn't want them to sleep in. They had breakfast and made their way to the 'events' room, yes, they had one of those as well. Normally, the wedding of kings and queens normally took place in the arena (stadium? I still have no idea what to call it), but Luxa insisted on having it in the 'events' room, she gave to reasons, one, it was a little more private, and two, she was queen.
As I believe I mentioned, Regalian weddings are rather similar to Overland weddings, with a few notable differences, mainly a few traditions which are... strange, and that might be an understatement.
The ceremony started at twelve o'clock, a regalian Royal family tradition, all kings and queens must have their ceremony at twelve o'clock. If that wasn't possible on the planned day, the event would be canceled and rescheduled.
But today wasn't that day, at exactly twelve on the clock, the ceremony started. Gregor stood there stunned by Luxa's dress, it was beautiful, and stupid long. It had like three or four meters (that's about 13 feet), another tradition, who would have guessed?
The next half hour is a blur for Gregor. He never thought that this day would ever come, so did his family. Back when that were in Virginia, his mother tried to introduce Gregor to a girl, things did not go as she had hoped. The 'first contact' did not go smooth. One day the girl tried to ask Gregor out... let's just say that Gregor turned her down, in the coldest way possible. (That's as far as I am going to detail that, if I am to go in more detail, this would be in the M section... for words alone).
After the two gave their vows, everyone went to their table. The table arrangements was, interesting, to say the least. Every table was round with twelve seats and in the middle was a fancier table that's where Gregor and Luxa were seated along with Gregor's parents, his sisters, Larry, Angelina, Vikus, Howard and Ripred, who needed two seats.
Right before the party started our group decided not to use the speaker that Lizzie bought, because let's be honest, who puts music at a wedding on a portable speaker? (don't answer that, I might be wrong). They went with the good old band.
The music was similar to the sort of music you would find in a movie set in the middle ages, who would have thought?
They ate, they danced and they drank, the legal drinking age in Regalia is eighteen.
Gregor stopped and asked a waiter with a tray and some glasses on the tray with a mysterious red liquid: "What is this?"
"It's wine, sir." The waiter responded.
"Can I have one?" Gregor asked, not being sure if it was a good idea to drink.
"Yes, of course." The waiter said as he handed Gregor a glass.
Gregor stood there, with a glass of wine in his hand and with a debate in his head "Is it ok if I drink this?" he asked himself. After two more minutes Gregor thought: "Yolo!" as he drank the whole glass in one sip. Big mistake. Immediately after that his head started spinning.
Luckily for Gregor, Luxa found him.
"What is wrong with you?" She asked him and quickly realizing from the empty glass in his hand that Gregor tried some rather strong wine. (Yup these people have special glasses for stronger drinks).
"Please don't let me drink. Ever again." Gregor said.
"I will make sure of that." She said with a small laughter.
After a few hours everyone was either sleeping, drunk or drunk sleeping. Well all except Gregor and Luxa. Even Gregor's parents fell asleep, even Vikus, but he fell asleep, not due to exhaustion, but to the same wine that Gregor tried a few hours earlier.
The silence was pretty much absolute, quite beautiful, some would say. Until Gregor decided to break it. "What a day, huh?"
"Quite the day."
That was the wedding of Gregor the Overlander and Queen Luxa. Now there is one more thing that is to be said and that is the wedding night, but we don't have to go into detail about it.
As for their child...that is a story for another time.
Again, I am sorry for my absence, but I am back! The reasons behind my absence are...numerous. School was a nightmare (and that's an understatement) and I'm 80% sure I had depression.
As always, please tell me what you think, it helps me.
Also I am debating on that epilogue. Should I write it?
With that I say goodbye and have a great day!
