Hairbrush karaoke

Reading Pixie asked for a oneshot of Snow, whilst brushing Emma's hair, starts singing 'Mother knows best' from Tangled. Emma starts laughing because Snow starts dancing like Mother Gothel in the movie

There were plenty of parental things that Snow and Charming would never get to do with Emma. Some of which, could never be reclaimed. Others, however, were still doable. Such as Snow being able to fix up Emma's hair. Emma was no good at that kind of thing anyway. She was more of a quick fix person when it came to her thick blonde waves. A ponytail or, if she was feeling particularly feminine, a simple pleat and that was her for the day. Snow, however, loved the elaborate princess dos she had learned for herself in the Enchanted Forest. When she actually had hair she could do fancy styles with. Not that she regretted keeping her hair short, that had its plus sides too. But ever since Snow learned that she was expecting a daughter, her mind had filled with all the girly possibilities. Dresses, riding, tea parties, makeup, hair…of course, most of that was to be dashed away. But Snow wasn't going down without a fight. No, she would reclaim as many of the moments that she could with her daughter. Including being able to play with her hair.

Snow loved it on the rare occasion that Emma asked her to do something nice with her hair. Snow had so many styles that she wanted to try out on Emma. It always made Snow feel so elated when she finally got to try another out.

On this occasion, Snow's happiness came out in the form of humming. Now that Neal was getting older, Snow and Charming were sticking on movies for him to watch every now and again. He had recently watched Tangled for the first time, and one of the songs from that movie had got itself stuck in Snow's head.

Emma smiled as she picked up what tune her mom was humming. She'd been around when Tangled was on for Neal as well.

"Having fun there, are we maestro?" Emma teased her gently.

"Hmm?" Snow asked as she brushed through Emma's hair.

"You were humming." Emma informed her. "One of the songs from Tangled." Snow laughed slightly, she hadn't realised. Well, in for a penny, in for a pound, thought Snow. She decided to embrace her clearly wildly talented musical side. She grinned at Emma as she put down the brush and cleared her throat. She then started prancing around Emma's bedroom.

"Shh!
Trust me, pet
Mother knows best
Mother knows best
Listen to your mother
It's a scary world out there
Mother knows best
One way or another
Something will go wrong, I swear!
"

Snow belted out at the top of her lungs. Emma watched as her mom grooved around the room. Was she high or something? Snow had found her groove now and she was damn well having her big finish. She continued prancing around the room (realising just how much hard work dancing was in the process) until she hit the end of the song.

"Don't forget it
You'll regret it
Mother knows beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeest!"

Emma chuckled slightly as she gave her mom a round of applause. "Very good, mom." She laughed. Snow smiled, coming back over and picking back up the brush. She started to run it through Emma's hair again.

"Now that we've established I'm a musical genius do you have any requests? Dumbo? Or perhaps Winnie the Pooh? I confess, I am slightly limited to a niche genre." Emma laughed again.

"Nah, you rest your voice for next time." She replied. Snow shrugged.

"Suit yourself."
