Dysgraphia

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma finding out Henry can't write.

Emma couldn't believe she hadn't noticed. She had been in Henry's life for just over a year now, and it was only at his fifth grade parents' evening that she was finding this out? What kind of mother was she?

"So sorry, I'm sure you have had this discussion with his other mother, but I'm knew to this. Would you mind explaining what this means for his education?" The teacher smiled warmly. She understood the change in circumstances for Henry's custody since the last academic year.

"Henry is still a very bright boy, Miss Swan. We just use slightly different approaches with him to make sure he works at a similar pace to his peers. When available, Henry words using a laptop or desktop so he can type. We also had a special machine shipped in from Pierre, South Dakota that also allows him to type when a computer isn't available. We do still encourage him to do some handwriting so he has the basic skills needed in life, but we try and make school work as adaptable as possible for his dysgraphia." The teacher explained. Emma nodded, still taking all the information in. Henry couldn't write? How hadn't she noticed? She had seen him reading that darn storybook so often that she just assumed his language work was fine. How very wrong she was. The teacher had assured her that Henry still had a very bright future ahead of him, and this was just a minor setback, but it didn't feel that way to Emma. She just kept seeing all the obstacles he could end up facing. She wanted to cry, but just barely managed to keep herself together. At the end of the day, this was the reality she had to face along with Henry. She would always be there to support him, no matter what.
