Split head- part 2
A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2028 "Split head" where Emma experiences side effects like headaches. Also for the guest who asked for a sequel involving Emma not wanting Snow to leave her sight because she's afraid she's mad at her.
Emma groaned. The thumping in her head was becoming unbearable.
"It's ok." Snow said quietly as she pressed a cold cloth against Emma's head. "Your medicine will kick in soon enough. You're ok sweetheart." Emma didn't respond. Speaking didn't help her headache.
Snow noticed that the cloth she was using was becoming awful dry. She took it off of Emma's head, much to her surprise.
"I'll be back in a moment." She promised her daughter. "I just need to re-soak this…"
"No." Emma groaned, grabbing hold of Snow's hand. Snow looked down at her, heartbroken. She had been very clingy since the accident. Snow stroked her thumb along Emma's hand.
"I'll be back in a second." She promised. "I just need to re-soak this to stop your head being sore. You'll be ok baby." Emma's bottom lip quivered, but she did allow her mom to go. Although Snow could see the impact the small amount of separation had done.
"You're sure you're not mad at me?" Emma asked. This had been a frequent question Emma had been asking both her parents since the accident a couple of days ago. Neither minded constantly reassuring her.
"We're not mad honey." Snow promised her. "It was an accident. You know not to do it again and that's the end of it." Emma nodded glumly, and Snow knew she had more to say. She clambered onto the bed beside her daughter. Snow had to restrain herself from pulling Emma onto her lap like she might do with Neal. Emma might look small, but Snow knew she wasn't really.
"What makes you so worried that we're mad?" She asked, trying to remain as nonchalant as possible. Emma shrugged.
"I was staying with this family in Lincoln, Nebraska." Emma began. "They were nice, a decent couple who didn't use corporal punishment. That all changed when I had to have an operation. I had a hernia that needed removed. It was nothing major, but it needed done. Suddenly, I was too much trouble. They dropped me off at the hospital and weren't there when I woke up. I was shipped off to Omaha without a backwards glance. That changes your outlook on things." Emma finished quietly. Snow couldn't help herself now. She pulled Emma over to her, not caring if she put up a fuss. But she didn't. Emma needed the comfort just as much. Emma needed to know that Snow and Charming weren't giving her up. That this was an accident and they weren't in anyway mad at her for it. If that meant the odd cuddle now again. Well, that was just fine with Snow.
