Flying
snoopykid asked for a oneshot of Emma taking her family flying as she got her pilot's license.
"Are you sure this thing is safe?" Snow yelled over the roar of the engine. Emma couldn't help but smile at the way she was clinging to her seat for dear life. Emma didn't have the heart to tell her that if they were going to crash, that wasn't going to help one bit. She knew that since this was both her and her dad's first time ever on an aeroplane there might be a little apprehension. Her dad was loving it. Her mom, not so much. Snow bravely peered out of the window. "How far away are we from Storybrooke?" Snow asked. Should they really have left the little town at all?
"Well mom, if you look out your window you'll find that we've reached the beautiful Salt Lake City. If you look really closely you might see a herd of buffalo." Emma teased her mom, who immediately panicked.
"We're in Utah?!" Snow shrieked. Charming and Henry fell about laughing. They knew Emma was just kidding around.
"Mom, calm down. We're nowhere near Utah. We're just going over Staten Island, that's all…"
"We're in New York?!" Snow squealed again, still not liking that idea anymore. Emma was sure that if her dad and son weren't held down by their seatbelts, they'd be rolling around the floor laughing by now.
"Mom, relax, would ya? We haven't even left the confines of Storybrooke. I wouldn't cross the town line, just in case. You're being paranoid!"
"Well can you blame me? We're in a machine going at hundreds of miles per hour, miles high in the air without so much as an airbag!" Again, Emma didn't feel pointing out airbags would do no good was the best option.
"Well, we could always join the mile-high club, would that ease you up a bit?" Charming teased her. Emma shot them both a look.
"There's no bathroom on this plane so no you will not!" She warned him, even though she knew he was joking. Fortunately, it went straight over Henry's head. He was just so taken in by being up in a plane with his mom as the pilot. She had even named him her co-pilot and promised to start training him up when she had her qualifications and he was old enough.
Emma laughed when her mom eventually settled back down in her seat. She stayed clinging onto it for dear life for the whole flight and even more so during the landing. Emma didn't think she'd ever seen a person more thankful to be off a plane. She was slightly worried her mom would start kissing the ground. Thankfully, she didn't.
"That was wicked awesome mom!" Henry complimented her, giving her a high-five. Emma grinned, happily accepting her son's term of affection.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it kid. We can go up again any time. That offer extends to you guys, too." Emma told her parents.
"I might just take you up on that." Charming said. He had enjoyed the whole experience. Snow, on the other hand, stayed silent. If she never got on another aeroplane again, it would be too soon.
