Welcome back to a new chapter of Spider-Linc.
Last we left things, Spidey made his public debut after the tragedy that befell his entire family and realizing that with the powers he's now gifted with, it's his responsibility to use the them the best way that he can, by saving lives and looking out for the little guy so that he wouldn't make another mistake like that again. Now, with that in mind, I believe it's a given that the kid will go through numerous trials that will test his mettle as a hero. In addition, he'll also have to learn how to balance his life being Royal Woods' resident superhero and being an everyday normal kid who goes to school, which we all know from seeing Peter and other young superheroes, is no easy task whatsoever, that and maintaining relationships. Also, keep an eye out for references to other marvel superheroes along with Spider-Man Easter Eggs, that's just something I thought I'd have fun with.
Also, I will be adapting Loud House episodes of my choosing, primarily Relative Chaos.

Sunrise started over Royal Woods, signaling the start of a new day for the citizens of the town and for one Lincoln Loud, it was the start for unpredictable nonsense in this new chapter in his life. Inside his room, the sole son of the Louds was slumbering peacefully in his small-spaced bedroom, last night was a long one of webbing purse snatchers to trees and getting cats down from them as well, which was small considered to what he was expecting. But then again, this was Royal Woods, a town with a low crime rate but he did nonetheless expect something exciting like that store robbery he managed to stop, but it was a whole evening of waiting around.
Leading to him to hitting the hay as soon as he arrived home.
Then a knock was heard.
"Yo, Linc, it's time to get up, bro." he heard the voice of his older sister, Lynn Jr. which stirred him awake. "And you better hurry, Lana's been eyeing your breakfast and I'm not sure if dad can make another one before mom takes us to school."
Eyes blinking open, Lincoln sat up with a loud yawn and scratched his head but then noticed that clothing was covering it, he looked and his eyes widened once he saw that it was his gloved hand from his costume. He looked down to see that he had fallen asleep completely in his Spider-Man suit, with the mask resting on his side. "Crud." he grimaced, realizing that he was so tired from patrolling that he went to sleep without changing to his PJs last night.
Knowing he didn't have much time, Lincoln began taking off the costume as quickly as he could, nearly tripping over in the process and started putting his regular everyday clothes on. "Seriously, I can't go to school without having my morning full so hurry it up already!"
"Hang on, I'm almost done!" he called back, putting the suit and the web shooters inside his backpack and opened the door.
"Finally, did you sleep while playing one of those nerd games or something?" she asked as they made their way downstairs.
Lincoln stammered a bit, trying to come up with a good enough explanation. "U-Um, no. Coach Pakowski had us do about 100 jumping jacks and made us climb the rope twice, really worked the class to the bone.
"Is that all?" Lynn scoffed. "That old dodo brain's gotten soft since I left 5th grade."
The two sat down on the table and ate their breakfast along with the rest of the family, and as they ate, most were talking amongst themselves but most of their attention was then caught by a groan of aggravation from the eldest sibling who unsurprisingly was browsing through her cellphone. "Literally? Another one?" she continued swiping but each time she did, all the teenager could find was the same dang thing on each post. "That can't be the only thing everyone online is talking about."
"What's the deal, sis?" Luna asked.
"Everyone's posting stuff about that dumb spider-kid again, and it's the only thing they're talking about."
Lynn and Lana sat up from their seats and shouted in unison. "What?! Gotta go real quick!" they made a dash for the living room where the rest of the siblings followed to see them turn on the TV to the News Channel which showed Katherine Mulligan sitting on her desk doing a story on a recent event last night.
"This is Katherine Mulligan coming back to you on Spider-Watch." the special effects made her voice deep and slow as she said the title of the news segment which showed the title on a screen colored red with web patterns. "It wasn't not too long ago did Royal Woods saw the debut of its very own superhero in the form of Spider-Man." a blurred image of said vigilante was then shown swinging across the city along with a few shots of criminals being entrapped in webs as the police came in. "Since then, this small childlike enhanced individual has made quite a mark on our city. Handling small crimes such as muggings but managing to stop robberies and car chases as well. Here is what a witness has to say."
A camera was pointed at an innocent citizen who was describing what he saw when Spidey swooped in to help out. "So there I was, placing the jewels inside the safe, you see? Next thing you know, some guys in ski masks came in and wanted me to give them everything. I tried going for the phone, but one of them hit me with the butt of his gun and tied me up with a gag. But then, I saw something on the ceiling and it just landed down and it was Spidey, he just snatched their guns away and stuck them to the walls before cutting me free."
Catherine Mulligan came back on-screen. "While there have been numerous eyewitnesses, this blurred image of the young masked vigilante is the only known recorded evidence of him. None have managed to snap a clear shot of him and have only seen him passing by save for some instances such as hold-up situations. A young hero with an air of mystery. This is Catherine Mulligan, signing off."
"Wow, I guess they spend too much time on the web." Luan quipped, chuckling to herself and the others groaning.
"EEK!" Leni hid behind the couch. "Why didn't anyone tell me there was another spider monster sighting?!"
"Leni, it's not a monster." Luna assured her older sister.
"I-It's not?"
Lori scoffed with a dismissive. "Of course, it isn't. Just some little twerp playing dress up." she didn't notice Lincoln flinch a little at that last part, it also earned ire from two of her younger siblings.
"Hey, take that back, Lori!" Lana scowled.
"Yeah, Spider-Man's the coolest!" Lynn adamantly declared. "Seriously Lori, how can you not be pumped about our town having a superhero! I mean, do you see the way he moves and he can lift like two beams or something, that's more than any person on my teams."
"I hear he's also really funny!" Luan chimed in.
Lola holds her hands. "He's quite dashing, too."
"Plus, he looks out for the little guy." Luna added as well. "That's pretty okay in my book. You don't see rich boys like Stark hovering over towns like ours, do you?"
Rolling her eyes, Lori took the remote and turned off the TV. "There are literally like dozens of guys like him, they're basically mainstream now, it's not that big a deal."
"If that's true, then why is he such a big talk in school?" Lynn countered with a challenging look.
"Yeah, in middle school."
"Actually, he's amassed quite a following in elementary school as well." Lucy contradicted. "It's gotten so far that he basically has a cult now, which is no easy feat, I have never been more impressed."
Up until now, Lisa remained silent since she was never one to be that involved in conversations regarding the emergence of various individuals that most have come to see as "superheroes", she finds the concept utterly ridiculous, she would've find a way to perfectly understand them but the majority of Earth's population are too busy putting them on pedestals rather than figuring it out. But since her siblings were making a big deal out of it, she can't help but put her own two cents in. "Lori makes a valid argument, however. A select few with intriguing abilities are populating the Earth by each year, and has become something akin to a norm, all this hysteria over a new one is slightly over-reacting a bit. Although, I will admit, him having the abilities and characteristics of an arachnid is intriguing."
Before more could be said, a loud honking noise was heard from outside. "That's mom, we better hurry." Lincoln told them, a little relieved that this conversation was brought to an abrupt end. While flattered that some of his sisters seem his superhero persona in a positive light, it still felt extremely awkward when they're talking about Spider-Man as if he wasn't there when in reality, he was but they just didn't know it. To be honest, he hated having to keep such a bombshell secret from his own family, but keeping your secret identity even from the ones you love is superhero-ing 101, that and he didn't want to cause some tension and of course, it was for their own safety.
As they each went outside, he turned the TV off and placed it on the table, but then saw that it was still stuck on his hand. "What?" he grabbed hold and pulled tight but it was on tight. "Come on." he struggled and managed to pluck it out, only now it was stuck on his other hand, making him groan. Now, he tried pulling with his feet and managed to get it stuck to his shoe, making him fume but then sighed. "Okay, don't stress it." he tied one more time, this time without struggling and it easily came off. "Phew, let's hope I don't get stuck to someone's hair." he got up and went out to Vanzilla and drove off to school.
Most of the time, it wouldn't take so much effort to anger the likes of Hammerhead, as a notorious crime boss within the Maggia crime syndicate, he learned to keep his emotions in check to show not only professionalism in his line of work, but to save face for himself and present himself as any other short-tempered common thug. Ever since he started his career in organized crime, the vibranium plated man wanted to make it so that everyone would know that he's not a mindless goon who gets pissed off easily. But in recent events, not even a stress ball was enough to keep mellow his temper, he's already broke ten of them. Admittedly, one couldn't blame him, considering the little pest control problem that's been interfering with the plans of his enigmatic superior that started up months ago.
It started small, just a few muggings and other crimes that could easily be forgotten, but then this freak started preventing robberies, most of the folks he helped out owed protection money and that was making business bad. Next thing you know, some of the cons he busted wouldn't dare go out and collect for the Big Man, actually fearing some little shit acting like its Halloween everyday. Whoever this masked vigilante was, he was making problems for the Big Man, and they always disappear.
This bug will be exception.
Hammerhead's musings were cutoff when his phone rang and he checked to see that the caller was from an unknown number, and he knew exactly what that meant. "Yes, boss."
"I'm sure you've seen the news, Hammerhead?"
Despite the voice synthesizer, it was obvious that the Big Man was not pleased. "Yeah. Look, this is just a temporary problem. I mean come on, some punk that sticks to walls and swings like Tarzan. If it were one of those other band of freaks cooked up in that ivory tower of theirs in New York, then it would be a problem. This kid, he has no idea what he got himself into, we find him and we show just what he's dealing with."
"For your sake, that promise better be kept. This Spider-Man may be a new player on the board, but he's still an unpredictable wildcard, someone like that makes for bad business, you of all should know that by now. I trust the Enforcers will be competent enough to settle this matter.
"Once we get them new shiny toys, the Enforcers will take care of it."
"So you say."
Nothing else was said after the Big Man hung up on his right-hand man, leaving him to call in the boys. As expected, all three of the Enforcers wasted no time in entering his office once their superior. "What's the word, chief?" Montana asked, tipping his Stetson hat downwards.
"You three know about our little problem, it's important to the Big Man that this Spider-Man gets wasted no matter what." Hammerhead motioned for them to follow him. All four walked down the hall and into the special room, an environment that housed all the sweet juicy toys whose owners graciously donated for their needs. "Took a lot of convincing on my part to let you guys use these gizmos, not to mention a lot of manpower and money to get them in the first place so don't screw it all up, or it'll be on all our heads." he warned, typing in the passcode. "Now, you boys ready?"
"The Enforcers are always ready, sir." Fancy Dan assured.
"Just tell us where to crush." Ox grunted.
Hammerhead grinned. "Then suit up."
One of the disadvantages of being a kid superhero, school was still necessary in Lincoln's life, must be pretty easy for the big dogs to do what they do without worrying about finishing homework or cramming for tests and receiving important projects, it's not like a more fun alternative would be swinging across the skies all day or something. He tried his best to stay focused to what Mrs. Johnson was saying but at the same time, his enhanced senses made him focus to fly sounds and some of the students murmuring and all other sights and sounds no average human being can detect. Mental note, find some way to work around that drawback.
"Did you see the news, today?" he heard Mollie whisper to Trent.
"They caught another sighting of that spider-guy."
"How come no one's interviewed him?"
"I'm telling ya, my mom saw him swing by one day, it was out of this world."
"Don't you think he's a bit cute?" a female student whispered to her friends who giggled.
"How can you tell? He wears a mask."
"But it makes him so mysterious."
Hearing that last part made Lincoln blush up a bit, heck, all their comments about his alter-ego made him feel a little flustered, he's not used to being the popular topic that everyone's crazy about. It felt kind of nice but also awkward since none of them are aware that Spider-Man's sitting right near them, listening to what they think of him. He then ducked when his spider-sense kicked in and a rolled up ball of paper, he picked it up to read the message within. "Got the spider bite too?" He looked to see it was Ronnie Anne who was giving him a rather mischievous look that made him roll his eyes and toss the paper aside.
Spider bite is the new expression about being in such an uproar over Spider-Man.
Now he's starting to be a trend, just great.
Once class was over, Lincoln met up with Ronnie Anne and Clyde. "Could barely paid attention to what Mrs. Johnson was saying, everyone kept going on and on about hat spider boy." the skateboarding girl said looking over her phone.
"I believe it's Spider-Man." Lincoln corrected.
Ronnie Anne snickered. "Please, he can't be any older than most of 5th grade here."
"But, it's still incredible!" Clyde told them, excited. "Our town has a superhero! What do you think his origin is? Zach said that he might be the sole survivor of spider-alien planet that was sent here by his parents, but maybe he's a whole bunch of spiders that can form a human-esque body."
"Sometimes, he and the rest can be bigger nerds than you." Ronnie Anne could never pass up the chance to bust their chops. "Think those 'powers' of his are legit?"
"You've seen the news, wouldn't be the strangest thing that's been seen." Lincoln retorted.
"Personally, I don't see the big deal." Ronnie Anne voiced with a nonchalant tone. "So there's got a guy who can climb up walls and swing off in a web. Compared to some old rich guy with armor, it's pretty...meh. Heck, guys who can do that kind of stuff are about a dime a dozen, it's gotten pretty bland at this point."
"Is there anything that can impress you?" her closest friend asked.
Chuckling, she gave him a good-natured punch to the shoulder as the three made their way to the lunchroom for pizza bagel Tuesdays and they weren't going to let it go to waste. But what Ronnie Anne said did make Lincoln think for a moment, enhanced individuals and other superpowered forces have taken the whole world by storm in recent years, before the rampant emergence, the strangest thing people have seen was a star spangled war hero faster and stronger than any human on the planet. Much as he hates to admit, a spider-themed superhero doesn't seem to match up to the big leagues, not that he's looking to be the next big superhero, just wouldn't mind challenge.
The Enforcers have been a tight-knit group for a long time.
Fancy Dan, Ox, and Montana have known each other since their days as prison cellmates for petty crimes in the beginning but gradually became master criminals in their own rights. They orchestrated prison breaks, murders, and other actions that proved how effective they were as a team. Such talents impressed even someone of the Big Man's stature, the infamous crime lord made it so that the Enforcers would work under the oversight of his right hand, Hammerhead, and have proven themselves time and time again. Now their talents in criminal activities were needed to take care of a recurring arachnid problem of theirs.
"Alright, boys, I hope everybody's prepped and ready in there." Montana called down from the Enforcers' helicopters and to a van that housed a quad of the Big Man's underlings, each sporting ski-masks to hide their identities.
"These orders come from the boss himself." Dan told them to remind them of the serious nature of their little endeavor and how much of a poor choice it would be if there were to be any misstep were to happen on the job. "It's simple. This Spider runt needs to be taught a lesson about getting in the way of the Big Man. But should you fail, the we'll jump in so do yourselves a favor and don't screw up." with that, the call ended and their helicopter soared above the city in the nighttime.
Night jobs were a preferable choice for the Enforcers, things are quiet for them and they don't have to worry about pedestrians stupid enough to get in the way. Additionally, Hammerhead called in a few favors and the police won't be an immediate issue, save for those that can't be bought but they won't be that much of a problem. Which was why they questioned the wisdom in being deployed during the afternoon, but Hammerhead assured them that it was all according to plan and they just had to do their parts. As for this Spider-Man, that entailed a lot of thinking, they never had to deal with one of those enhanced individuals but despite his feats, they can still see a kid in a onesie who's way in over his head and doesn't even realize it.
Ox stood behind the pilot and passengers seats with a lot of bags. "Nice of the boss to thrown in these sweet new toys for us."
"Don't get too crazy with the 'em, Ox." Montana warned. "Big Man had to work hard to have the go ahead for using this new gear. Our partner can be one stubborn mule, I can tell ya that much."
"Hammerhead ever did say who said partner was." Ox recalled. "Hell, I don't think even he knows who he is."
"Our job ain't about askin' nosy questions, Ox." Montana snarked at him. "Right now, it's about nabbing that precious cargo and if the spider wants to show his masked face then that's where we'll make our move."
"What do you think he's doing right now?"
"Probably his homework or somethin'."
Up upon a rooftop, a lone figure stood and surveyed the city below with fists on the hips, patiently waiting for something to stir up this otherwise quiet evening in Royal Woods. He was ready to spring into action. 'Royal Woods. A city in need of a hero. One man-er, boy-takes it upon himself to overlook its uneasy peace and make sure that said peace be kept in place and...and...dang it, these inner monologues are harder to do in real life than playing Ace Savvy or watching the movies.' The small form of Spider-Man slumped his shoulders, breaking the pose. "Maybe I should add a cape, those fit great with this setting. Nah, don't want it to get stuck in a door or something." he mused to himself, taking a seat on the edge.
His phone vibrated and he looked to see a text message from Lori.
"Linc, how long will the study session last?"
A sigh escaped his mouth, remembering about the excuse of being in a study group with his main group of friends from school and Rusty's house. Getting back up, Lincoln shot out a swing and texted at the same time.
"Long as it takes. I'll be home when I get home. Stop worrying." He said.
He latched onto a wall and walked on it waiting for her to text back. As he did, he carted backwards until eventually jumping off and swinging towards a billboard that Tetherby in bright bold letters.
"Good, more time for pedicures." Lincoln read.
Doing an eye roll over the classic response from his oldest sister, Lincoln reached his phone back in the pocket and resumed swinging across the city heights, now doing it just to pass the time. "Hey! Someone stop that guy!" Getting focused, he looked to see someone running from a uniformed man frantically and got his head in the game. He swung low and delivered a two-footed kick to his face that made him fall and webbed his hands and feet, trapping him in his place.
"Got things covered, office-meter maid?"
An out of shape meter maid caught up while panting heavily. "Whoo. Thanks, if another one got away for the third time, I'd be fired."
Spider-Man looked between him and the runner and slapped his head, but nonetheless worked with it since he was expecting something to happen, exciting or not. "We got a speeder!" But that didn't mean that he wouldn't be up for a high stakes emergency once a blurred vehicle ran past them followed by police cars. He swung up a building and ran across it, following the trail of the cruisers in pursuit of the road hog. He looked to see an opening for him to shot out multiple webs to make one big enough so that it stopped the speedster...which turned out to be the old lady Scoots who was presently in one of those cars in dealerships that were put up in display.
"Hey, what's the big idea?!" she yelled, indignantly. "Can't someone drive in peace?!"
"Skoots?" Spider-Man raised an eyebrow behind his mask. "You were aware that there were cops tailing you, right?"
All the old woman could do about that was wave it off as if it's nothing. "If I had a dollar for whenever someone with a badge is detaining me, I wouldn't be wasting my time in that nursery home with Sue always hounding on me! Plus, this was a good first drive with my new hot rod."
"There's a 'FOR SALE' sign right there on the window." Spider-Man pointed out, showing that she had inadvertently stolen this car.
"...Huh."
Sirens could be heard and remembering that most police weren't overly fond of masked who don't have an unlimited supply of lawyers, it'd be wise for him to make his leave. "Okay, just don't do it again. Seriously, you're dangerous enough on a scooter."
"Aw, well thanks, kid."
Only giving a shake of the head, Spider-Man swung off to continue with his patrol which was starting to seem slightly unnecessary now that he really thought about it. Not even those two knuckleheads, Marko and O'Hirn were up to anything and they're about his usual crooks to take down. Which makes sense, Royal Woods' crime rate is known for being lower than most towns and cities, the last major crime he's know so far was the string of burglaries and...the shooter. That alone makes him realize that anything could happen and it'd be immature to just leave things as they were, he'll do whatever it takes to not make that mistake ever again but even so, he wonders how he can upholds the ideals those words from his grandfather if he doesn't get the chance.
He looked down and noticed a van driving off the normal route of all other vehicles and couldn't fight off a sudden urge of suspicion and his spider-sense went off just a little bit but that was enough to make him quietly follow it.
He was being followed as well, from high above. "Target took the bait." Montana radioed. "Proceed as planned."
The van stopped at a warehouse that just so happened to be placed near a bank which only made Spidey even more suspicious, he saw as several masked men got out and into the place which was enough for him. Spidey activated his camouflage power, making him invisible to the naked human eye and snuck in through the window.
He saw he group holding what looked a blueprint and shot out a web that landed on the switch and the lights turned off. "What the he-" Spider-Man's small size was an advantage as it made it hard for the crooks to fight face-to-face. His invisibility also made it easy for him to sneak up on them when they least expect it. His electric shocks-of which he dubbed as Venom Blasts-incapacitated them with ease and as one tried swinging down he flipped over behind him and shot two webs strands at his arms and pulled them tight to make him fly over and ensnared him in a web. Jumping high, he sent multiple flying kicks that held enough strength. Those that fired at him were unprepared for his constant flips through the air, his spider sense helped him dodge each bullet without trouble and used various webs to snatch the firearms and trap them in a cocoon.
Getting excited in all the action, his hands got more electrically charged than normal and slammed his hands against them all but was a bit too much when the crooks were blasted across the room. "Oof. Maybe I should dial it back a bit.'
"So what was the plan?" Spider-Man asked with a chuckle. "Rob a bank and hope Spider-Man doesn't show up? Too bad for you clown, I always get this light tingle that gives me the feeling of something like this happening." With none of them left to fight, he moved towards the large crates and the blueprints he assumed was for the bank but his hidden brows furrowed in confusion once he saw that the blueprints were completely blank and as for the crates, opening them up showed that they were completely empty. "Okay, either you guys are the worst criminals ever or-" his spider-sense kicked in and jumped upwards, clinging to the ceiling as the walls exploded, blasting debris all over.
From spot on, he noticed the remains of detonators and once the smoke cleared, could see distinct figures. There were two of them who wore spysuits and goggles that over their eyes and hid their faces, one was tall and slim and the other towering and imposing. "Kid works pretty fast." Fancy Dan commented, seeing the young vigilante's handiwork.
"Don't see him. Think he cut and run?" Ox suggested.
"Montana would've let us know." Dan responded, taking out a rod that extended into an electric staff. Both Enforcers searched the area for the spider-powered hero, not knowing he had crawled down to their level, while being invisible. That explosion caused some ringing in his ears that lingered and was breathing pretty hard, heart beating in rhythm, seeing that these two weren't bank robbers.
Snapping out of his brief hyperventilating, he prepared himself and jumped up to hit the big one, momentarily reappearing and them disappearing again after landing. "Where-" Ox grunted backwards, feeling a swift punch to the gut, surprised that this kid was as strong as the stories said about him. "Why you little rat!" the strongman brandished two gauntlet gloves that charged up and hit the ground multiple times, making cracks but no spattered spider.
"Turn on your goggles, you big lughead!" Dan admonished, reminding him of their goggles being capable of detecting heat signatures and thermal readings even if the person can't be seen. He "saw" the boy just as he was about to go for another hit on Ox and reacted by spinning his staff wile running and hit him back.
Deactivating his power, Spider-Man stuck to the ground. "How were you able to see me?"
"You think folks don't invent ways to deal with you powered jokers?" Dan spun his staff around. "Things don't come cheap, though. But boy, you're worth the green just to stomp you out." Spidey tried charging some venom blasts but all he got were his hands giving weak charges and bolts. "Oh, come one!" a sense of fear was evidently still present.
This gave Ox the chance to charge at him. He jumped over him and two web strands stuck to the larger man's legs and pulled them forcibly to make Ox take a big flop to the ground and threw him to his associate. Dan jumped high and somersaulted away before Ox made contact, the Enforcer landed in front of Spider-Man and did a series of low strikes that Spider-Man dodged.
"Yo, Dan!" getting the signal, Dan jumped out of the way when Ox threw crate at Spider-Man, breaking apart upon impact and the kid grunted falling on the surface. Fancy Dan showed off more of his acrobatic talent by cartwheeling until he stood over the kid and plunged the taser of his staff down to the chest, making him cry out. "Nothing personal, kid." Dan feigned an apology, voice laced with taunt. "We Enforcers are just working a job."
Eyes closed and teeth grinding, Spider-Man put a lot of focus in his hands, this time bringing on more effective Venom Blasts. He grabbed the staff with both hands and he unleashed a wave of electric shock that flung Dan back and shattered the staff to pieces. Standing up, Spider-Man held his chest, these guys were far from regular street criminals. They were clever enough to lure him into a trap, that much he realizes, the van, the thugs and the supposed bank heist was just bait and he took it and not to mention they being equipped with some high-end stuff. During the moment he spent taking notes in his head, he reacted too late to his spider-sense when a cable wrapped around his form and pulled him out of the building.
Screaming, he found that the cable came from a helicopter. It rose up, carrying Spider-Man over Royal Woods, gaining the attention from some onlookers who took photos with their phones. The cable loosened and Spider-Man tumbled on a roof, the helicopter hovered above him and kept its focus completely on him as the other two Enforcers got outside. "Ox. Fancy Dan. You fellers better hurry on up here, don' want ya ta miss the show." the targeting system locked on to Spidey and Montana began firing with the machine gun.
In rapid pace, Spidey ran from the gunfire. 'OH MY GOD! HE'S ACUTALLY SHOOTING AT ME!' this wasn't like how he'd snatch firearms away from gunmen, this was some real life risking type of stuff. He swing around, trying to evade it, but the helicopter was willing to follow him to the ends of Earth if he had to.
"No point in runnin', boy." Montana smirked in the pilot seat. "Should've stayed at home instead of thinkin' ya could tangle with the big dogs ." the helicopter shot out a capsule that released a hidden tripwire that wrapped around Spider-Man. Montana's fellow Enforcers climbed up using grapples and Ox picked Spider-Man up and squeezed hard. Any longer and he might break something, he tried using his Venom Blasts but only met with the same short bursts, he was filled with fear, any moment the big guy would squeeze hard enough that it'd be too much for him to bear and he would die. Any child would be fearful of dying at such a young age, but for him, he felt that he wouldn't even get to see his friends and family ever again and more importantly, he'd have failed Albert.
'No...not like this...!'
Dan moved forward with an electric baton, prepared to hit the kid but Spidey hits Ox's face with the back of his head with great force. The big guy's arms loosened and Spider-Man landed on his hands to kick Ox away and strapped Dan's hand in a web and pulled it forcibly so that it electrocuted Dan in the chest.
Spidey stared up at the helicopter and sprinted forwards to sling two webs that were stuck to the skyward vehicle to propel himself forward. "If you guys want my attention so bad, then come find me!"
"Cheeky little bastard." Montana lets down a ladder down for his allies. "Come on, boys. Chase ain't over yet."
"Lincoln! Where are you?!"
"Study session was over a while ago. Decided to hit the arcade. Why?"
"News are about some helicopter with guns! Whatever you do stay inside, I'll be right there!"
"Hold on! Lori!"
He waited for her to respond but that took minutes, realizing that there was no point, Lori always responds to a phone call in no time and now she was too busy rushing to pick him up. On top of that, a helicopter controlled by three dangerous men who were out for his blood, when he went out to patrol, he was the one that was searching for criminals, it never occurred to him that some would want to do the same but with him as the target. He thought about maybe going back and face them head-on but they no doubt had more tricks up their sleeves, these guys were crafty and knew how to fight This may be his first real challenge in this whole superhero thing.
Hours passed by as the sun had set and night was almost coming, no matter where he turned or hid, the Enforcers have managed to catch up, almost as if their lives depended on them finding and killing Spider-Man. Currently, he was behind a billboard and considered his options on what's the best way for this day to finally end.
'I can't keep hiding forever. Can't go home either, they could maybe follow me or just keep on causing trouble for the whole town and I can't just leave until it's certain that those guys aren't a threat.' he smacked his head repeatedly. 'Come on, Linc. You're supposed to be the man with a plan, there's gotta be some workaround these guys or something that can be used against them.'
As he surmised before, he can't keep up this game of cat and mouse forever and the Enforcers won't stop until the job of killing Spider-Man is complete. No point in dragging this out any longer.
Was he afraid?
Duh.
But now was the time to turn that fear into a drive to survive the day.
The Enforcers scoured a huge part of the city, they spotted their target a few times but he always manages to give them a slip and for some, they were starting to get tired of a seemingly pointless mission. "Can't we call it a night, already?" Ox complained, arms crossed behind Montana and Dan, no longer feeling any fun in continuing this little game. "Little runt probably cried home, maybe he was just a little crybaby who realized he had no place in a big man's game."
"Hammerhead's orders were clear." Montana said, keeping his eyes forward. "We bag the kid and send him to him and the big man. You know how he is when it comes to the job being complete." he continued keeping the helicopter in a steady course, checking the weapons systems for when they find the little bug and finish him off. They also had special sensors that could detect him even when invisible and by sheer luck, a dot just popped up on the radar, getting their attention. "We got a bogey, boys."
"I don't see him." Dan noted, not seeing any sign of him.
"Hang on. Says he's...one the roof?!" Montana spouted.
Before they knew it, the helicopter started shorting out, thanks to Spider-Man using a massive dose of his venom blasts that made all the electrical controls completely overload until they completely deactivated. The Enforcers inside screamed as the helicopter began freefalling out of the sky, questioning if Spider-Man was completely insane by resorting to this but they grunted as the descending vehicle came to a halt. Looking out, they saw the copter being trapped to the white substance that was Spider-Man's webs, he slung an entire trap and acted once he was sure that they were above it and now, he had them right where he wanted them.
"Hey, guys." Spider-Man tapped the window causally. "Sorry for making you wait. Wanted to get ready." he tore the door off like paper and a web strand connected to Ox and flung him out to the roof, followed by Dan and Montana. Without their copter, the Enforcers were left without a getaway vehicle and firepower. "Now then, who's first?" Ox charged like a raging bull until Spider-Man flipped onto his back and tried prying him off but he couldn't reach him, Spidey pushed him with both legs, making him collide with Montana. Dan spun in mid-air to hit him with an extra bo-staff but he flipped backwards into an upside-down position, his legs grabbed the staff out of Dan's hands and Spidey webbed him in the face. "Here's web in your eye!"
The stuff was hard to tear off and it gave Spider-Man the chance to hit him with a series of kicks and punches and after falling down, Dan's limps were webbed to the roof's surface. Getting back up, Ox ran with both hand gauntlets raised and Spider-Man caught both as the Enforcer's muscle struggled to break his hold. Concentrating hard, Spider-Man sent a flow of Venom Blasts that coursed through both gauntlets, also rendering them useless and he flung him over before jumping onto his chest and encasing Ox in a web cocoon. "There. Now when you get out, you'll go from nasty to almost-not nasty."
All that was left was Montana who held a gun in one hand while trying to get through to his superior. "Boss, come in! We got trouble!" Spider-Man swiftly evaded the bullets and raised his knee forward to Montana's chin, making him drop the gun and effectively knocking him out.
Spider-Man placed himself in a crouching position as he heard another helicopter, only it belonged to the boys in blue whose light shone down on the defeated Enforcers but no Spider, save for a calling card.
"Courtesy of your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." the cop looked up at the sky.
He could hardly believe it.
Through it all, he actually managed to beat all three of those master criminals. Sure, he was rocky in the beginning but he managed to pull through in the end.
And it felt...SPECTACULAR!
Cheering through the air, Spider-Man swung as fast as he could, it was his way of expressing his joy, pulling off fancy tricks and sliding on rails throughout the city. He landed on a nearby wall, the same one where he left his backpack filled with his regular clothes which was kept in a web beforehand and sure enough, he found it. After a quick change, he pulled out his phone to call Lori instead of a text, and told her where to pick him up and as he waited, he saw display TVs showing the news coverages of police investigating a webbed up copter and three suspicious outlaws. "Lincoln!"
He turned after hearing car horns, seeing Vanzilla which stopped as soon as the driver saw him. Lori wasted no time in getting out and running to her only brother. "I thought I told you to stay at the arcade?!" she admonished.
"Uh….the helicopter was nowhere near the arcade, so I thought-"
"Oh, whatever." she pulled him into a hug out of relief. "Now come on. I swear, this town is literally going crazy."
Getting into the shotgun seat, Vanzilla drove off and as he watched captured shots of Spider-Man, he smiled lightly and held his backpack close. He can now say that this new life he decided to live is worthwhile. Stopping those three and preventing them from hurting others in the future, he liked having that feeling and maybe he can get used to this.
He is a superhero, after all.
