Anakin could sense his Captain was awake but he didn't want to go and see if he was alright because he knew that he was going to be upset with him for tricking him.
"I can sense your uneasy, Skywalker!" said Ventress, looking at Anakin.
"I can sense that my Captain is awake, but I don't want to go and see him because I feel like he would be upset with me."
"Anakin," Ventress said. This shocked Anakin because Ventress never called a jedi by there real name. "Go and talk to them, they will be more mad and upset the longer they leave them." Anakin nodded, he knew what Ventress was saying was true, but he just didn't want to upset his Captain even more, especially now he knew what the clones were actuarial for. Anakin got up from the desk and walked out the room, to where he had left the clones. Anakin stopped in front of the door. He let out a breath that he didn't realise he had been holding, and walked into the room.
Rex and Woolly heard the door open and turned around to see General Skywalker stood there. Rex turned away, not wanting to face the truth that he had turned to the dark side, he new that he would never let it go if he had. Rex, Woolly and Anakin sat in silence waiting for the other's to start speaking. Rex didn't even look at his Genral, not wanting anything to do with the traitor.
"How are you feeling/" asked Anakin, to the to clones, hoping one of them would answer.
"I'm fine, General." said Woolly and when Rex didin't respond Anakin expected nothing else.
"Rex, I am sorry. I wish I could have told you what I was going to do but Ventress, didn't want me too. I really am sorry" sadi Anakin, aiming it at his Captain.
"Why?" Rex asked, turning around to his confused General, "Why turn you back on the Republic to join force with a known Sepratist criminal?"
Anakin didn't respond, he didn't know how to, he wanted nothing more to tell Rex that he wasn't working with Ventress, but he couldn't because he knew that Rex was right. He had turned his back on the Republic and his best friend, his little sister, and his only father figure. Rex was gradulary growing more annoyed with Anakin the longer he didn't reply. Anakin could feel the frustration boiling off his Captain.
"Rex, I'm sorry" said Anakin, final breaking the silence that had filled the room. "Rex, I didn't mean to turn my back on the republic."
"Why did you do it then?"
"I wanted to know the truth, behind the clone wars!"
"And what is the truth?" asked Woolly, who Anakin had forgotten was in the room.
"That Chancellor Palpatine, is running the war from both sides. He controls the Sepratist and the Republic. And to see if you guys were the key to getting ride of the jedi."
