Louis POV

I can't believe I literally ran into that girl. I watched her walk away and turned up the block to go into her house. I was surprised she was walking home when it was almost dark out. She couldn't have been any older than maybe 12 or 13 years old. I noticed the house looked familiar and walked over and noticed it wasn't really just a house, but the local orphanage. I immediately felt so horrible for her and the other kids. I couldn't imagine not having my family in my life.

I walked home to the house I shared with the boys thinking about my encounter with the girl. I only saw her for a few seconds, but I want to be able to help her in some way. I walked inside to see what happens just about every day: Niall eating up the fridge, Harry and Zayn playing FIFA and screaming that the other is cheating, and Liam yelling at them to be quiet. I put what I had gotten at the store away and sat down to watch this FIFA trainwreck.

"You okay, Tommo? You seem a little out of it." Liam said, bringing me back into reality.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I lie, but him being Daddy Direction, he saw through it and sat on the sofa next to me.

"Alright. What is it?" I sighed and began talking.

"When I was walking home, I ran into a young girl, maybe around 12 or 13 years old. I helped her up and she just walked away to her house. The thing is, it's not just a house, it's the local orphanage. I felt so bad for everyone there. I want to be able to do something for her, I just don't know what."

"You're pretty serious about this, aren't you?" Niall asked.

"Yeah. That girl needs a family, and..."

"You want to be able to give it to her, don't you?" Zayn finished for me. I nodded and they all looked at each other with slightly skeptical looks on their faces. I don't really blame them because I'm only 21, she's a teenager, we're going to be going on our second world tour in a few weeks, and we're always in the spotlight so she would be as well and we don't know how she would take that.

"Well, it's not our place to tell you no, mate. But Simon and management would probably not be all too happy about it."

"I don't care what they have to say. If they have something against me helping someone live their life, it's not my problem, yours, or hers. They can say whatever they want about this, but I'm gonna do it for her." I said with determination.

"So. What's the plan for now?" Niall asked.

"I say we get everything ready first. Her room, clothes, whatever else."Liam said.

"Yeah, that way everything is there when she arrives." Harry said.

"One problem: We don't know what her sizes are or what she likes." Zayn said.

"I've read about the center, and the website says that you come one day to look around and find a kid, and wait a week before you can bring him or her home. We can ask about that stuff and during the week, we can get what she's going to need." I told them.

"Wow, Tommo is actually being responsible about something." Niall said in fake shock. I gave him a glare and flipped him off.

"So, you're getting a kid?"

"I'm getting a kid."
