Mixed up relations

Raising Star asked for a oneshot of Snowing having Emma when they're 15/16 so the King and Regina raise Emma as their own. When they die, the truth comes out and Emma dealing with her 'sister' and 'brother-in-law' actually being her parents.

UK readers, you should know which soap inspired this lol.

The funeral had been hard for them both, especially Emma. She was still so young. Only fifteen. Snow tried hard not to think about the fact that was the age she and Charming had both been when they had Emma. The fact her father and Regina were dead changed nothing. It wouldn't be fair to tell her now. Emma must live her life thinking that Snow was her big sister and Charming was her brother-in-law. That Neal and Rosie were her niece and nephew rather than brother and sister. It was better for everyone. Well, at least it was better for everyone. That was until Emma got it into her head that she wasn't taking this lying down. Rumplestiltskin was responsible for her parents' deaths. Emma had no proof, but she knew it. The imp wasn't the only one with magic, she had some too. She would make him pay for the pain he had caused.

As soon as Emma confided in Snow that she was going to avenge her parents' deaths, of course Snow flew off the handle. She quickly got Charming involved who, although was calmer, was just as adamant that Emma wasn't going anywhere. Emma quickly became angry at this. Why was Snow so dead set against her avenging her parents?

"Why don't you come with me, Snow?" Emma tried. "I know my mom wasn't your mom, but he was your dad. Come with me, we'll take Rumplestiltskin on together…" Snow took hold of Emma's shoulders, trying to knock some sense into her.

"Emma. Nobody is going anywhere. Whether I'm with you or not, you are not going to leave this castle to find Rumplestiltskin. Is that clear?" Snow told her. Emma pulled herself back from Snow's grip. She threw who she thought was her sister a filthy look.

"You don't get to tell me what to do." Emma hissed. Emma couldn't believe her! Wasn't she just as mad? Snow raised her eyebrows. Was that so?

"Try me Emma." Snow warned. "You're not leaving to fight Rumplestiltskin and get yourself killed. We will get our revenge, but not by making you a martyr." Emma ignored Snow and kept on packing.

"Emma, you should listen to her." Charming sighed. "She's right. You can't leave to fight Rumplestiltskin. He's more powerful than you know." Emma looked up and growled at Charming.

"Ok. If I'm not going to listen to her, what chance do you have? You might be her husband, but we're not related. You certainly don't tell me what to do."

"Emma!" Snow said, appalled. She knew how much that would hurt Charming. He had been the least for this whole ridiculous idea for this very reason. It made everyone think he was just some outsider. He was her father, not the king. He should be the one to have read her bedtime stories and teach her riding. Instead he had to fight to spend time with her because people 'might have talked'.

"So what? It's true!" Emma grabbed her bag and moved to the door, but Snow stood firm in front of it. "Move." Emma growled. Snow stood firm. She knew Emma wouldn't use her magic on her. "Snow, I'm warning you…"

"Warn me all you want Emma. I'm not moving and you are not leaving this palace! That is final!" Snow shouted, fed up with Emma's behaviour. She knew Emma could be headstrong, but she refused to let her go out there and get herself killed.

"You don't get to tell me what I can and can't do, where I can and can't go. You aren't my mom, Snow! In case you haven't noticed she's dead! Now move so I can kill the beast who murdered her and our father."

"Your mother isn't dead. I am your mother and I say you aren't going!" Snow burst. Determined to do anything to keep Emma safe. But almost as soon as the words were out of her mouth Snow regretted them. Emma stopped and looked up at Snow, her eyes wide with horror.

"Snow." Charming croaked. Snow could feel her heart racing.

"I-I mean now that your mom's gone I am responsible for you…"

"Don't lie to me." Emma hissed. She knew when someone was lying. "Snow, what did you really mean? What do you mean that you're my mom?" Snow and Charming both stayed silent. How did they even begin to explain this? "Tell me!" Emma demanded. Suddenly, Snow broke down in fifteen years' worth of tears.

"I never wanted to allow this to happen. Neither of us did, we wanted to raise you Emma, we really did…"

"Wait, we?" Emma croaked, her eyes snapping to Charming. "So…so you're saying that you're my father?" Charming nodded, a lump forming in his throat.

"It wasn't our choice Emma. We were so young. Snow was sick after the birth and for weeks they weren't sure she would make it. The decision was taken out of our hands. By the time we tried to fight to get you back it was too late. It was for the best…"

"For the best? You let me think that you were my sister and my brother-in-law for my entire life and you say it was for the best?! Then you tell me when I think that my parents are dead?" Emma couldn't believe this was happening to her. No…no this was too strange. She felt betrayed. Snow was meant to be her big sister, now she was her mother? And Charming was her dad? Neal and Rosie were her siblings, not her niece and nephew? No, this wasn't happening. "Get out." Emma ordered.

"Emma, please…"

"Get out!" Emma screamed. Snow and Charming nodded, feeling defeated as they left. Emma slammed the door behind them, and both could hear her sobs. Snow pressed her hand against the door, feeling broken herself.

"I-I had to, Charming." Snow croaked. "I had to keep her safe."

"I know." Charming said soothingly, taking Snow into his arms. "She'll come round, Snow. It's going to take time, but she'll come round." He rested his chin on the top of her head. "We finally have our girl back, Snow. She finally knows the truth. It was never going to be easy, and I wish it was under different circumstances. Heck, I wish we had put our foot down from day one and never allowed this to happen. But she can finally properly be ours again, Snow. We just need to make it through a little stormy weather first." Snow stayed silent, just drawing as much comfort from Charming as she could. Right now, Emma hated them, and that was all Snow could focus on.
