❝ I have mixed drinks about feelings. ❞
- Unknown
WHEN SOOKIE TOLD Juliette that they would be going to a vampire bar to clear Jason's name, what Juliette didn't expect was to be stuck in a car with her sister, Bill, and his horrible music taste.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Sookie smiles looking at Bill.
Oh god kill me now
Juliette pleads to herself begging to get out of this awkward situation. Needing something to help her to cope with not only being the third wheel but the eventual torment of everyone's thoughts in the bar, she pulls out her flask taking a large sip of the heady drink.
By the time they arrived, Juliette had a nice buzz going that was enough to dull out her powers.
Bill wrapped an arm around Sookie but when he tried to do the same to Juliette she stepped away raising an eyebrow.
"It's to keep the vampires away from you," He explains.
Juliette scoffs, "Yeah, not gonna happen, buddy." With that, she confidently struts forward, Bill and Sookie trailing behind her.
"Bill," A voice drawls, "Haven't seen you in a while."
Juliette looks to see a fairly tall and beautiful woman standing in front of them, decked out in a leather corset and some killer shoes.
"I'm mainstreaming," He replies breezily.
"Good for you," She replies and the woman couldn't have sounded more disinterested if she tried, but when her eyes turned towards Juliette and Sookie they lit up in interest, "Who are the dolls?"
"Pam, this is Sookie and Juliette, Sookie—Juliette, this is Pam," Bill introduces.
A bright smile appears on Sookie's face and she holds out her hand, "Pleased to meet you!"
Pam just gives Sookie a deadpanned look while Bill shakes his head at Sookie.
"Can I see your I.D's?" Pam asks.
"Oh sure," Sookie laughs, "How funny, who would've thought? Getting carded at a vampire bar—"
Juliette rolls her eyes ignoring her sisters rambling and hands Pam her ID, Pam takes it with a quirk of her eyebrow and does a quick scan before handing it back before grabbing Sookie's.
"I can no longer tell human ages, we must be careful we serve no minors in any capacity," Pam states handing Sookie her I.D back, "Twenty Seven & Twenty Five huh? How sweet it is," Pam drawls.
Juliette noticed the quick look Pam did between her and Sookie and Juliette had a feeling it was because she looked younger, she was commonly mistaken as the younger Stackhouse due to her softer features, or it might have been due to the fact Sookie looked like Virgin Mary's incarnate while she looked like she actually belonged in the vampire bar, with her leather pants, black tank, and black pumps.
Speaking of pumps, Bill starts guiding Sookie and Juliette away but Juliette pauses and tilts her head at Pam, who raises an inquiring eyebrow.
"Nice pumps," Juliette comments, taking one more glance at the heels she had immediately noticed when she saw Pam.
A smirk crawls onto Pam's face as she blatantly checks Juliette out "Right back at you."
Juliette returns the smirk before she follows after Bill and Sookie, happy when she sees Bill leading them towards the bar.
"How's it going, Bill?" The bartender greets, and Juliette didn't even have to guess if he was a vampire since he had his fangs out on full display.
"Very well," Bill nods.
The bartender smirks, "I'd say it is, these your meals for the night?" He asks shooting Sookie a hungry look.
Juliette glares and subtly nudges her sister behind her incase the vampire decided to try anything.
"These are my friends Sookie and Juliette, girls—Longshadow" Bill introduces.
Sookie immediately smiles at him, pushing past Juliette to lean forward, "Nice to meet you!"
Juliette mentally sighs, sometimes she thinks her sister was a five years old trapped in a woman's body with how naive she acted sometimes. Like Pam, Longshadow just gives Sookie a blank look before glancing towards Juliette who gives him a bored look.
"I'll get a Manhattan with three cherries" Juliette orders curtly, already needing another drink to fight off her oncoming headache.
"Oh and I'll take a gin and tonic, please" Sookie adds.
"And I'll have a bottle of O negative" Bill states.
Juliette turns around and leans her back against the bar, observing Fangtasia as she lets her sister handle interrogating Longshadow. Her eyes scanned the club taking in the dark colors that were accented with varying shades of red, it was pretty much what Juliette imagined when she thought of a vampire bar.
She also allowed her mind to relax and let the thoughts slowly stream into her conscious but she found nothing useful, so she quickly pushed out any intruding thoughts, and took a large sip of her flask to help her control and dull the thoughts.
Juliette's eyes lock with a pair of cold blue ones, the man, vampire, was undeniably handsome, Juliette could give him that but the fact he was sitting on a throne told her that he was one who expected the world to fall at his feet and Juliette immediately shut down any attraction she felt for him, no way would she fawn after a man.
Juliette felt her drink being placed next to her and without breaking eye contact with the man she takes a sip, quirking an eyebrow in challenge, she couldn't help it she like toeing the line of danger.
The man's face remained impassive but his eyes, however, lit up in interest at Juliette's bold move but before anything else could happen Juliette turned her back on him, completely ignoring the burning stare at the back of her head and focuses back on the conversation that her sister and Longshadow were having, only to see they had just finished up.
Bill led the two girls to a free table and the couple sat down but Juliette had a different idea in mind, downing her drink down in one go, she moves to leave.
"Where are you going?" Sookie asks grabbing Juliette's arms.
"To dance, let me know if you find something useful," Juliette says before slipping out of Sookie's grasp.
The pair watch Juliette saunter her way to the dance floor full of vampires but doesn't even give them a second glance as she starts dancing, hoping to lure out a vampire to interrogate.
"Your sister, does she have no fear?" Bill asks staring at the older Stackhouse in wonder and Sookie lets out an amused laugh.
"She has a few but even those don't really stop her, for as long as I've known her she's been fearless, she's a fighter," Sookie says fondly.
The conversation then shifts towards the vampire on the throne, the one Juliette had first noticed.
"Who's that?" Sookie questions.
Bill expression shutters for a second, "Oh you noticed him, did you?" Bill comments.
"No, it's not like that, I just—"
"—Everyone does," Bill informs dryly, "That's Eric, he's the oldest thing in this bar."
Sookie glances back at the blond vampire and follows his line of sight and saw that he was staring intently at Juliette. He doesn't even remove his gaze when one of the humans starts touching his foot, only kicking out his leg sending the man flying and crashing into a table.
"Still think you're in Disney world?" Bill asks.
"Uh oh," Bill stated awhile later, his eyes catching the sight of Pam and Eric's gaze on him and Sookie.
"'Uh oh?' Vampires don't say 'uh oh'" Sookie says worriedly.
"It's Eric" Bill informs nodding his head towards the vampire sitting on the throne "It seems you girls have piqued his interest, he has scanned us twice; he's going to summon us"
"He can do that?" Sookie asks wide-eyed.
Bill nods, "Oh, yeah," he watched as Eric gestured for them to come, officially summoning them.
The pair get up and make their way to the stage, grabbing Juliette as they went.
"What's going on?" Juliette asks confused, she had just been in the middle of a conversation with one of the bar's patrons, trying to subtly gain answers if he knew anything about Dawn or Maudette's death.
"We've been summoned," Was all Bill said as he leads the girls towards the vampire on the throne.
"Bill Compton," Eric states, despite his bland tone, Juliette picked up Eric's distaste for the darker haired vampire, "it has been a while."
Bill nods uncomfortably, "Yes well I've been—"
"—Mainstreaming" Eric cuts off with a sneer, "I heard" he nods.
Eric then turns and looks at Sookie before finally looking at Juliette, who just raises an eyebrow, Eric's eye's once again flash with interest but his face remains cool and collected.
"I see that is going well for you," He notes.
Bill immediately stutters as he realizes he still hasn't introduced the sisters, "Oh-uh-of course, these are my friends—"
"—Sookie Stackhouse" Eric finishes once again cutting Bill off before looking at Juliette, "and Juliette Stackhouse."
"How do you know our name?" Sookie asks, her voice wavering the slightest amount.
"I never forget a pretty face," Pam says looking straight at Juliette, before tapping her temple "You're in my vault"
"I like the sound of that," Juliette purrs, speaking up for the first time, and Pam eyes gleamed with interest as she leaned forward slightly.
"Great, that's just great" Sookie rambles, smiling uncomfortably before looking at Eric, "It's nice to meet you"
"Well, aren't you girls sweet," Eric comments.
"Not really" Both Stackhouse sisters retort simultaneously, resulting in Bill nudging both sisters in a warning.
Eric lets out a small huff in amusement before he tilts his head towards Pam.
"Vår lilla djurpark börjar växa till sig" Eric says to Pam.
our little zoo is starting to grow
"Jag vet" Pam replies.
I know
"Står här, ravhål" Juliette snaps in Swedish, mentally thanking herself for deciding to pick up the language on her travels, while her Swedish was rusty and she only knew enough to get by, she still had gotten the gist of what Eric had said.
Standing right here, asshole
Eric overlooked the fact she had just called him an asshole as he turns to her raising an eyebrow "Du pratar svenska?"
You speak Swedish?
"A bit," Juliette shrugged trying to wave it off, but if anything she had just intrigued Eric more.
Eric decides to let the matter pass, for now, and instead turns to Sookie. "Miss Stackhouse, I understand you've been asking questions about some of my customers."
"Yes, I have" Sookie nods.
"If you have anything to ask, you should ask it of me," He says firmly.
"Alrighty," She nods before pulling out the pictures of Dawn and Maudette, "You recognize either one of these girls?"
Eric lets out a small hum, his lips tilting up as he studied the pictures, "Well, this one offered herself to me, but I found her too pathetic for my attentions" He states, talking about Maudette, "Now, this one, however...I have tasted." He informs, now talking about Dawn.
"I remember them both," Pam speaks up.
"On the account of the vault?" Sookie asks slightly rudely.
Bill grabs Sookie's hand in warning while Juliette grabs her sister's arm tightly pulling her slightly back when she sees Eric's face tighten.
For god's sake Sook, shut your mouth, Juliette thinks, hoping her sister would pick up her thought.
Call her a hypocrite but while she didn't mind toeing the line of danger, she didn't like to see her siblings do the same thing.
"Never had either of them, though, they weren't really my type," Pam continues before giving a Juliette a seductive smirk, that Juliette returns, what could she say, Pam was definitely her type.
"Well..." Sookie swallows, hastily grabbing the pictures from Eric, "Thank you very much. That is all your time I need to take."
"I'm not finished with you yet" Eric immediately states, his voice firm and cold, looking at Sookie with hard eyes before breaking into a cold smile.
"Please, sit," He says nodding to the chairs beside him.
Juliette doesn't even wait for Bill's permission as she takes a seat in the seat that was closest to Eric, so her sister wasn't near him while Sookie cautiously sits beside her sister after Bill gives her the okay.
Eric can't help but notice the eldest Stackhouse sister, she made sitting in the simple chair as if she was a queen sitting upon her own throne, she practically exuded confidence and sensuality.
"Bill...are you quite attached to your friend?" Eric asks looking at Sookie.
"Yes, she is mine," Bill responds and Sookie is quick to agree.
"Yes, I am his." She nods.
"What a pity...for me," Eric responds before turning his attention to Juliette, "And what about her? Is she yours too?"
"Aw sweetheart, he wishes" Juliette purrs, sending a wink to a glaring Bill.
Eric sends Bill a quick smirk before his eyes turn back to Juliette, "Interesting," He states.
"Before you get any idea's Ken Doll, I ain't interested" Juliette responds, easily reading the gleam in his eyes.
Sookie chokes on her spit, looking at her sister wide-eyed, not believing she had just referred to possibly the most dangerous vampire in this bar as Barbies boyfriend.
Pam snickers at the nickname, while Eric arches an eyebrow, wondering if the girl in front of him was brave or simply stupid.
"Juliette!" Bill hissed only to receive a nonchalant shrug in return, Bill glares at her as he too takes a seat.
Juliette's mind manages to pick up the thoughts of a cop and a raiding party and it seemed her sister had too, Juliette tenses when she realizes what her sister was about to do.
"Sookie, don't you fucking dare" Juliette warns quietly, but thanks to the vampire enhanced hearing, her words were clear as day and they immediately turn to her.
"We have to get out of here," Sookie argues.
"Sookie, shut up!" Juliette snaps.
"Sookie," Bill warns but Sookie doesn't listen.
"Eric, the cops are coming, there's going to be a riot," Sookie informs hastily before either Bill or Juliette could stop her.
"Oh for fuck sakes!" Juliette quietly curses, looking at the ceiling in exasperation.
"Tell me you're not an undercover cop?" Eric glares looking at Juliette.
"We're not but the man in the hat is," Sookie answers before Juliette could say anything.
"Even if you're right, we do nothing illegal here" He waves off.
Go ahead and do it, open me up, Taryn.
I don't care, just make me feel something.
Juliette heard the man that Eric kicked beg.
"Why don't you tell that to Taryn in the ladies room," Juliette snaps, knowing Sookie had already pretty much given them away.
"She's with that man you kicked before, feeding on him," Sookie adds.
"How do you two know this?" Pam demands.
It seemed Sookie had now realized what she had done and looked to a tense Bill for help, who only shook his head in warning.
"Freeze!" A cop yells, "Police!"
Everything turned to chaos then, bar patrons running out as the police stormed in.
Eric grabs Juliette's arm and pulls her up, "Follow me," He orders dragging Juliette with him as Pam, Bill and Sookie all follow.
He leads them towards the back entrance where he finally lets go of Juliette's arm, "I enjoyed meeting you Miss Stackhouse, you will come again."
With that, he and Pam vamp sped away leaving Juliette back with Sookie and Bill and her mind reeling.
Just what had she gotten herself into.
