Mixed up relations- part 2
LyssLovesShules33 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2049 "Mixed up relations" where Emma still ends up running away to confront Rumplestiltskin. Snowing freak out when they find her gone. When they find her (perhaps in peril) she takes comfort with them instead of hating them.
Emma didn't know how she would ever get over the shock of what she had just been told. Her whole reality was shattered. Her sister and her brother-in-law were actually her parents? Why had anyone ever thought hiding this from her was a good idea?! She didn't know how she was feeling, there were so many emotions swirling around inside of her. The one Emma thought she was feeling most strongly, was anger. She wasn't sure at that time what she was more angry about: the revelation about her real parentage, or still that Rumplestiltskin had murdered who she thought were her parents, but in fact was her grandparents. Emma decided that she couldn't focus on Snow and David just now. She didn't give a hoot about what Snow had ordered her. She had to hurt someone and it was better for everyone if that person was Rumplestiltskin. So Emma took her bedsheets and fashioned them into a rope. There was no point in trying to get out from a proper exit. Someone would try and stop her again. No, this was the only way. She had to sneak out. Emma knew that the patrol at the back gate wasn't monitored after sundown. They focused on all the entrances to the castle then. So Emma threw her rope out the window. She threw a glance back to her door before climbing down. Clear. She then climbed down as quickly as she possibly could and bolted to the stables to grab her horse. She had to get to the heart of the forest as quickly as possible. That was where she would face the Dark One.
With Emma pushing her horse to her limits, Emma reached her destination before midnight. She dismounted and pressed her forehead to her horse's nose. There was no telling how this would go. She tied her up out of sight and stood right in the centre and took a few deep breaths. She would get her revenge.
"Rumplestiltskin! Rumplestiltskin! Rumplestiltskin! I summon thee!" Emma shouted.
"Well there's no need to shout, dearie." Emma whipped round to see the imp sitting on the stump of a fallen tree. She held up her palms, ready to unleash her magic. He giggled, just infuriating her even more.
"Don't you dare laugh!" Emma barked. "You murdered my…you murdered my family." Emma changed half way through. Rumplestiltskin looked confused for just a split second, before his face broke out in a grin.
"Ah, so the little princess finally learned the truth, did she? That she is actually the bastard love child of her sister and her husband?" Emma could feel her cheeks heat up.
"Don't torment me, imp." She growled. "At least my family stuck together. Unlike yours. Your own son couldn't stand you and left the whole realm to get away from you." The smile left Rumplestiltskin's face. He got up off the log and approached Emma.
"How do you know about my son?" He asked dangerously. Now it was Emma's turn to smile.
"People talk, Dark One. The truth hurts, doesn't it? But no matter. I'm here to get my revenge. It's time the world was rid of your darkness." Rumplestiltskin just scoffed.
"You're just a child. Do you really think your magic stands a chance against mine?" It was clear by Emma's face that she did. Rumplestiltskin needed her alive, even though the princess didn't know it yet, she would be of use to him one day. But that didn't mean she wouldn't pay for her boldness. He moved his hand quickly and, unknown to Emma, a tree root behind her crept around her ankle and pulled her to the ground. Emma fell hard to the ground with a scream. The root continued to tighten around her ankle, snapping it. Emma didn't feel so brave anymore. Rumplestiltskin crouched over her, wrapping his hand around Emma's throat. He had no intention of choking her to death, but she didn't need to know that just now. Emma tried to move, but found herself frozen to the spot. His hand was so cold, she couldn't breath!
"Never mention my son again." Rumple growled. Emma stared up at him, was this the end?
"Rumplestiltskin!" Came a furious voice. Emma was suddenly aware of the sound of horse hooves fast approaching. The imp suddenly vanished into smoke and then reappeared a few feet away from Emma. Emma's head whipped round just as Snow and Charming were clambering off their horse. Charming approached Rumplestiltskin, his sword raised threateningly. Snow quickly made her way over to Emma and cut the tree root from her. She winced at the damage it had clearly already done. Snow stood protectively in front of Emma. Emma just sat on the ground, her heart hammering in her chest. Watching Snow and Charming she couldn't believe she had missed so many signs. She thought Snow had just been a protective big sister. That her husband was just filling in the big brother role. Emma should have seen that there was another layer to their love. A more parental one.
Charming continued brandishing his sword at the imp. How dare he attack Emma. "Keep your hands off of Emma." He growled. Rumplestiltskin giggled again. Emma hadn't realised how much of a maniac he truly was.
"Perhaps teach your eldest to hold her tongue. Then my brand of discipline would not have been needed. Don't you discipline your brat, Prince Charming?" He mocked. Charming dared move closer.
"Shut your mouth." He hissed.
"Charming." Snow warned. "Leave it. We need to get Emma home." Charming gave the imp one last look of warning before turning his back on him. Rumplestiltskin giggled once more before disappearing for good. Charming came and crouched down before Snow and Emma. Snow threw caution to the wind and took Emma's face in her hands.
"Emma, you have no idea how worried we were." Snow said, the fear showing in her voice. "We came up to check you were ok and you were just…gone. We saw the rope hanging from your window and put two and two together."
"We know this can't be easy for you, and we're sorry you found out this way. We promise, when you're ready we'll explain everything properly and answer any questions that you have. In the meantime, please, don't run off like this. If we hadn't come when we did, who knows what Rumplestiltskin would have done to you?" Charming added. Emma didn't speak. She didn't know what to say.
"He's already done too much." Snow growled, gesturing to Emma's ankle. "I can sort that when we get home. There's no way you can put any pressure on that foot."
"Can I pick you up?" He asked her.
"You've picked me up thousands of times before." Emma reminded him quietly. Charming still felt awkward as he carefully got Emma off the ground. This still felt different. They were no longer in-laws. They were father and daughter. As they always should have been. Charming helped Emma onto the horse with Snow climbing up behind to steady her. Charming would take Emma's horse back to the palace.
"We know this is difficult, we really do." Snow said. "We're not expecting you to accept this straight away. We'll be whoever you want us to be. We'll keep being your big sister and brother-in-law if that's what you want. We just want you to be happy, Emma." Snow told her.
"I can't deal with this right now." Emma admitted. "I need time to take this all in."
"Of course." Snow assured her. Nobody was trying to rush Emma into talking about anything. "In your own time, Em. Right now, we'll just go home and get that foot sorted." Snow and Charming knew that Emma was still grieving for the loss of who she thought were her parents. Maybe in a few weeks, she would begin to ask questions. They would not prompt her, nor push her. They would wait for Emma to be ready. They owed her that much.
