Chapter One: Saiyan's Second Wind

His eyes were droopy, body unmoving as he slowly dragged himself across the cold dirt.

It was hard to remember how it all happened, his mind a frizzled mess as he kept crawling for his ship. This downtrodden planet, one that he thought he could conquer so easily, wasn't easy like he thought it'd be. The saiyan crawled, he had to get to his ship, get away, before he is discovered.

Before they find him.

"H-How... How could this have happened...?!" Turles coughed out blood as he spoke, realising the severity of his situation. Looking down, the saiyan winced at his current condition. He was bleeding out, his legs barely attached to his body as he crawled away from the battlefield.

The planet he suffered his most humiliating defeat, one that shouldn't have happened.

The saiyan could barely make out what was ahead, his head brushing against the ground as he crawled with all his strength. His saiyan armour, damaged, his limbs, in pain and now he felt like death was as close as ever. All because of that wretched traitor, Kakarot and his half-baked Earthling allies.

The space-pirate couldn't take it anymore, turning to see what was left of his work. What he saw put a struck a dent in the saiyan's pride, his eyes shrunk as he saw how powerful that ball of energy was.

N-No... T-The Tree of Might is...! A tree, it's height almost immeasurable in miles, it's trunk lay split in two right in front of the saiyans eyes. It was shocking to see the damage himself, previously being blast to the very top of the tree. He was astounded to say the least, before his eyes trailed off to the sound of a ship approaching nearby.

"S-Shit..!" Turles, perched up on a root, threw himself off just to avoid being spotted by an oncoming ship. Falling into a pit of rocks, he winced as his body went deeper and deeper inside as he was soon buried under rubble. Now a sitting duck, the saiyan watched as the ship flew overhead, listening to ship's engine powering down.

What sounded like a door slowly opened, before he heard a familiar voice.

"Turles, I know you're there! Show yourself!" K-Kakarot? How was he still alive?! Panic had begun to set in for the space-pirate, sweating profusely as the saiyan sounded like he was perfectly fine. After the beatdown he brought down on the compassionate saiyan, he was sure Kakarot would've died from exhaustion.

"You sure he's here Goku?" Another voice was heard from the ship, one that Turles could remember from when he stood atop the Tree of Might.

"Positive, I sensed his energy and it was fading fast. He should be here somewhere..." Turles was sweating bricks, sensing energy? Did they feel his power level? Turles had so many questions piling up, but he knew this wasn't the time. The wretched saiyan was about to find him, and he had no means of defending himself.

The ringing in his ears began to get louder, as he slowly lost feeling in his arms and legs. His eyes darted around as he tried to keep himself awake, knowing that he would die the moment his eyes closed. Buried under rubble, the saiyan's demeanour took a drastic change, as he was now fearing for his life.

"K-Kakar...ot..!" Turles struggled to call out the saiyan's name, as his sight began to redden, and his lungs began to fill with blood. With his last moments, the space-pirate powered up as much as he could. He didn't care what would happen afterwards, all he knew was that this was one of the most painful things he had every experienced.

As footsteps rushed in his direction, he felt something beneath him open up.

Goku & Krillin watched as Turles' body fell deeper into the Earth, before disappearing without a trace.

"W-What the heck?!" Krillin said, shocked at the sudden appearance of a spaceship. The rocks that was supposedly just that, opened up as some sort of pod slowly rose from beneath the Earth. "T-There it is Goku, he's trying to escape..!"
Krillin was about to fire off blast of energy, but his hand was quickly diverted as his friend had grabbed ahold of it.

"W-Wait, Krillin..!" Goku said, slowly bringing his bald-headed friends' hand back to his side.

"Dammit Goku! He just killed Chiaotzu and Tien... We can't let him leave...!"

"I know it seems selfish of me, but please..." Goku's eyes had already grown serious, as Krillin was perplexed by his current options. He was about to let another one of their enemies go, again. Krillin gave a stern look to his best friend, but it didn't work. The saiyan seemed deadset on letting Turles go, eyes pleading for him to stay his hand. "I swear it Krillin... Next time, I'm gonna beat him myself...!"

"...Goku..." He couldn't believe what he was hearing, drooping his head in annoyance. ast The two paused, observing Turles' saiyan-like spacecraft blast off out of the atmosphere. Letting out a deep sigh, Krillin could only imagine what kind of threats awaited them off-planet. First Vegeta, and now this Goku look-alike is in space doing who knows what.
Turning back to his friend, Krillin could only sigh as he walked back to the ship. "You're really pushing your luck y'know that Goku?"

"Thank you Krillin..." Goku said, his tone gentle as they both went back into Bulma's ship. The latter was in the drivers seat, quickly turning back hoping for good news. But one glance to Krillins sour expression, and Goku's nervous laughter told the entire story.
The two winced, covering their ears as Capsule Corp's golden child erupted from within the aircraft.

"NO WAY! YOU LET ANOTHER SAIYAN GO?!"

"My my... What do we have here..."

Turles' eyes opened, his body bolting up as he screamed in pain. It took only a few moments for his mind to calm down, as he began to look around. The familiar smooth tiles brushing against his back, the familiar dark ceiling with flashing light across it.

Am I back on my ship...? He thought, slowly getting up from the floor to take a look around. Somehow, by some strange miracle, Turles had survived the ordeal against the Earthlings.

"Ha ha... Ha ha ha ha ha! I don't believe it!" To think the saiyan would get so lucky, his ship crashing into the rubble under him after the Tree of Might's destruction. How lucky for the space-pirate, as he limped towards the front of his ship.
Mixed feelings began to surface, as the saiyan couldn't help but contain his laughter.

His wounds were severe, but Turles managed to reach the front, pulling out a few flasks and dripping it on himself. Special flasks, potions the saiyan had ransacked from a previous planet, came in handy. "D-Dammit.. It hurts..!"

The burns across his abdomen, as well as cuts all around his face were slowly healing. The saiyan grimaced, if not for his races' zenkais he would have never tipped the damn thing on him.

"But if it's any consolation.. The results next time will be far more satisfying...!" But the pros heavily outweigh the cons, and Turles was willing to take a few loses if it meant getting stronger in the long run. Grinning, he knew it was only a matter of time before he'd be back at full-strength.

He'd bounce back from this, and go right back to Earth stronger than ever.

"Just you wait, Kakarot. By the time I've recovered..." Finally managing to stand up straight, the space-pirate began walking into the darker parts of his ship. But not before looking back, having one last look at Planet Earth. The warm green and blue, lined with white clouds, as the sun slowly rose from the top right.

It was the very same Earth he had come to discover only a few days ago, one that would soon be brought to its knees.

"No amount of heart, resolve or power will save you from destruction."

Having left the main deck, the room was left empty, as the only thing left was a beautiful view of the sunrise. However, miles away from the ship, one of Earth's islands disappeared without a trace.
A flash of red struck from the planets surface, as this mysterious wave of energy was heading straight towards the space-pirates ship...

"Mummy, what's that thing up there..?" Sitting alone, one child looked up to the sky, spotting a glowing light high in the sky. It looked to be moving across, and seemed to be going in the opposite direction as the others. Slowly sitting to her side, the mother patted her child's head in curiosity.

"That's a star honey,"

"Star?" Mother nodded at her child's repeat of the word, lifting the young girl for a higher view. She giggled a bit, being grabbed by her sides as she tried to focus on the 'star' even more.

"They're much like you darling, though this star seems this one is leaving the others..."

"Why? Wouldn't it be lonely without the other stars?" The child's question made her mother give a warm smile, gently hugging her for the empathy. Looking back up, she took her child's left hand and trailed it to the right.

"Oh no dearie, do you know which direction the star is going?" The child pondered on her mothers question, trying so hard to figure it out as the latter pointed to the east. It was then that it clicked for the little girl, realising that the sun usually rises from that direction.

"Umm... Oh! The east!" Shouting the answer in confidence, she was quickly hushed by her mother, taking note of the people sleeping in nearby tents. "So is the little star going to find a bigger star?"

"Yes, that's also where the sun rises from." Pausing for a moment, the woman looked to the east, her eyes wandering to the horizon.

"... and when a star shines bright enough.. It guides others to it..." The mother looked back into the night sky, staring off into the horizon as her child sat beside her. They weren't sure why their mother was so focused on what was ahead, but they could tell she was feeling much better now.

The child watched as her mother slowly turned back, giving them a kiss on the forehead.

"You, Frisk, Are like that star... And as your mother, I'm proud to have you as my one and only child."
