Before anyone reads my latest new chapter, I want to address something. I know I get judged for this a lot but I couldn't help noticing that I get a lot of criticism for only writing slash fics that only focus on m/m. I want to set the record straight. Yes, I am perfectly capable of writing heterosexual ships and I do like my fair share of straight ships in many fandoms. I'll admit, I don't write enough straight ships but for what it's worth, I do like them and have written stories with straight ships before in the past.
In case anybody is wondering, when it comes to South Park, there actually are hetero-ships that I do like and appreciate. For example, I ship PC Principal and Strong Woman, I also adore Token x Nichole, Wendy x Bridon, and even Scott Malkinson and Scott Gray. (Boy, I should probably do my own South Park Shipping meme one of these days.)
But enough of my silly ramblings… I just felt the need to point that out. Anyway, enjoy the new chapter!
It was cold tonight. The night sky was inky-black and I could make out stars with a luminous full-moon. It was nearly almost midnight. I stood quietly waiting in the basketball court. The street-lamps shut off long ago so I was able to hide in the darkness and avoid any detection. But I told him to meet me here… Just recently, my little sister Karen came to me with a serious problem. She became friends with a new kid named Eddie Morrison. One day when she went over for a friendly dinner, she told me that Eddie's new stepfather made her extremely uncomfortable.
According to Karen, Mr. Pollack had actually dared to come onto her. My sister who was only 14 years old… The second she told me, I almost gone straight to the bastard's house to kick his ass when Karen somehow managed to stop me. She was worried because she also had a feeling that Mr. Pollack was also molesting poor Eddie. She begged me to help her friend and I accepted with no hesitation. Now as Mysterion, I decided to help Eddie get hard-proof evidence that his stepfather was a pedophile.
Just as I was starting to worry he wouldn't show, footsteps alerted me to someone entering the basketball court. I turned around and recognized Eddie Morrison coming to meet me as we've scheduled. There Eddie reached into his book-bag to pull out the camcorder. It was just as we planned. He would record his stepfather's incriminating behavior and use it to show the authorities that his stepfather was a child-molesting sicko. It took courage for Eddie to do what he did. But now it was time for me to do my part.
"You'll take this straight to the police?" Eddie asked nervously. I think he found me a little intimidating with my dark cape and mask. "Do you think this will be enough to warrant an arrest?"
"Don't worry. I'll make sure to spread this far and wide," I said reassuringly. "By tomorrow, the whole town's going to see your stepdad for the disgusting sack of shit that he is." And despite my surly scowl and gruff tone, I still reached out to place a comforting hand on Eddie's shoulder to let him know that things would be alright. "You did the right thing, Eddie. This is going to get a predator put away for good."
It was probably the first smile Eddie had in weeks. And once he saw that I was going to help him, Eddie came to trust in me. After that, I escorted Eddie to his home first before heading straight for the Park County PD. I handed the camcorder over to the officer behind the desk and told him to make sure this was sent straight to Sergeant Yates himself. Once that was done, I decided to call it a night and head for home. But on the way back, something ended up catching my eye. I was walking down Bonanza St. when I noticed something in the distance of the forest.
Was that a building way over there? Since when has there been a building over there? This was a great surprise to me because I grew up in South Park and knew everyplace like the back of my hand. But that building in the distance...I've never seen that place before and it looked hidden. My curiosity got the better of me that before I knew it, I was heading in the direction of the strange building. I was able to make my own path through the woods while making sure I didn't get too lost out here. My boots crunching over the soft snow, it took me twenty minutes but I finally reached the mysterious building.
I was in for another surprise when I realized that I was standing before what appeared to be an abandoned church of some kind. How odd… Where did this church come from? It wasn't always back here, was it? The church was old-fashioned and gothic-styled which made me wonder what religion it was. However the thing that drew my eye was its impressive-looking bell-tower which had an almost unsettling look to it. Come to think of it, something about this place sent a chill down my spine.
"What the hell is this place?" I muttered to myself as I stepped closer up to it.
Despite my better judgment, I wanted to investigate this place. I wanted to understand what was an old church doing way out here? There was no one around so I approached the front-door, hesitated for a moment, then gathered my courage and pushed the old-wooden door open. The second I stepped inside; I immediately sensed a sinister aura. It was like all five of my senses were on high alert. I couldn't explain it, not even to myself, but there was something in here, and it was like it was trying to communicate with me. What the hell was it?
I walked down the aisle and saw that some of the pews were rotten and broken. It was cold and dusty and the air smelled ancient. Another thing that made me uneasy was that there was no light in here. It was pitch dark. Upon closer examination, the stained windows looked as if they'd been painted black. As if to keep the light out. The only light I could make out were the lit candle brackets which told me that somebody had to have been around to light them… It was empty in here but I still sensed the presence of something else lurking around.
When I reached the center of the church, I saw in front of me what appeared to be an altar with a strange symbol on it. A circular symbol with a triangle in the center. Weird… And that wasn't the only thing. Sitting on the altar, that's when I first noticed it. I couldn't take my eyes off it. I went so far as to go over and actually pick it up to examine it better. I've never seen anything like it. A symmetrical metal box containing a red-striated black crystal. It appeared to have strange language written on it but I didn't understand it at all.
And yet as I stood there staring at this odd object, again I sensed that presence again. An alien presence that seemed to resonate within me. It felt familiar. Then that's when I finally realized what it was. I was sensing the presence of another eldritch-being. Oh my god… That could only mean. Suddenly I gasped when the black crystal appeared to glow in my gloved hands. And then an alien-like presence seemed to try communicating with me. I snapped the lid shut over the crystal and dropped it back onto the altar but the eldritch-lovecraftian presence still lingered.
Suddenly I realized that this place was possibly dangerous. There was no doubt in my mind now that this church was being used to worship some Lovecraftian monster. But which one was it? It couldn't be Cthulhu. I don't think it was for Shub-Niggurath either. I didn't dare hang around. Instead I was already running for the door and bursting out of there faster than I've ever run in my life. Then I was running through the woods and kept looking over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't being followed.
I trusted my instincts and decided to get out of there fast. I didn't fully understand what was going inside that church. But most of all, I didn't know the eldritch-presence that was inhabiting that church. Whatever it was, it had tried to reach out to me, it tried to communicate in an alien language. But I wasn't the one who answered it. It was my own power that communicated with it. An eldritch-power that lived in me. The same power that made me immortal.
"I gotta get to bottom of this," I thought urgently. "I have to find out what's going in that church. Because whatever it is, it can't be good for South Park." Of course, I had no idea on what I just unleashed…
This story is going to have a lot of H. P. Lovecraft themes going for it. I'm not sure if any readers are familiar with his stories and work. But this is mainly inspired by the Coon trilogy and the South Park TFBW game. As a friendly reminder, I don't own South Park or H. P Lovecraft. But I think they both go together surprisingly well? Until next time my reading troopers. See you soon!
