Changing the prophecy
chloequeen101asked for a oneshot of *6x01 spoilers!* Emma actually telling Snow what's going on. That she is going to die and about her tremors, everything. My first season 6 prompt, how exciting!
LuLu: Sorry, but this request came first and it would be just too similar to yours to write in the same batch.
So as you can tell through this I have now seen the latest episode!
Snow and Charming couldn't believe the amount of people from the Land of Untold Stories who had taken them up on their offer. It was astonishing! They worked together, making sure everyone had something to eat, drink and keep them warm until more permanent shelter could be sorted. They still had a massive queue of people to get through when Snow felt a slightly clammy hand slip into her own. Snow knew that hand, so when she could sense how nervous the owner was, Snow felt her own nerves increase. Snow turned to face her daughter.
"Emma?" She asked. She could see the fear radiating in Emma's eyes.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?" Emma asked. "Outside?" Snow flashed her eyes over to Charming, who was clearly just as worried as she was. She gave him a small look to reassure him that as soon as she knew, Snow would pass every little detail onto him.
"Of course sweetie." Snow replied, walking outside with her daughter. Emma began pacing when they were alone in the alleyway adjacent to Granny's. She didn't know where to begin. "This isn't about your dad and I asking Jiminy to come talk to you, is it?" Snow asked, worried they'd overstepped their boundaries. "Only we were worried about you Emma. You just seemed so distant…"
"It's nothing to do with that." Emma sighed. Snow fell silent, waiting for Emma to explain what it was to do with then. Emma stopped pacing. She pulled her hands out of her pocket so her mom could see them shaking.
"Emma!" Snow gasped. She came over and carefully held up one of Emma's hands. "When did this start?"
"Today." Emma answered. "That's why I hesitated when we trapped Hyde. This started."
"Emma, you need to talk to someone about this." Snow said seriously, glad Emma had come to her. This had been what she meant when speaking to Regina about her and Emma's relationship improving with honesty.
"I've already been to see someone." Emma told her. This was where she expected the backlash. "I went to see Hyde in his cell…"
"Emma are you crazy?!" Snow asked, her voice becoming squeaky with the shock. "He could have killed you! You can't trust him. I don't want you going near that cell again…"
"I don't need to." Emma cut her mom off. "He was cryptic, but he led me to a person that was able to explain what's happening to me. They can see the future, and that's where this started." Emma explained, holding up one of her trembling hands. "A vision. I spoke to this woman Hyde sent me to and she explained it all. I'm seeing the future, mom. My future. There's no changing what I saw. Apparently I can change how I get there, but I'll always end up there. I'm fighting someone, I can't see their face. You're all there. You, dad, Regina, Hook, Henry…everyone. I'm protecting all of you…and he runs me through. I die." Emma croaked. The colour drained from Snow's face. She shook her head, taking hold of Emma's shoulders.
"No. Emma I refuse to believe there is no other way. We'll find out who this person is and we'll beat them. That is what we always do." Emma shook her head, tears forming in her eyes now. She was so scared.
"Hyde said that can't happen." Emma said, her voice faltering. "I went back to see him again once I spoke to the woman he sent me to. He told me it's the fate of the Saviours, mom. I'm not the only one. None of us get a happy ending. It's the price we pay." Snow took Emma into her arms. Emma was paying no price. Snow would make sure of that. Emma had never asked to be the Saviour. That title had been thrust upon her. Like Hell was her daughter not getting her happy ending after everything she'd been through.
"You listen to me, Emma Swan." Snow said in Emma's ear, trying to keep her voice as strong as possible for Emma's sake. "Hyde is a villain, and a vicious one at that. He'll say anything to try and distract you. Do you think your father and I are just going to let some stranger take our daughter away from us? No. Emma, you're not alone anymore. You're not just the Saviour. You are surrounded by people who love you, Emma. None of us will let this vision come to fruition. The future is never set in stone. I don't care what this woman told you. I'm not going to let it happen. You hear?" Emma nodded against her mom's shoulder as Snow held her tight.
"I'm so scared mom." Emma whimpered.
"I know." Snow said gently, kissing the top of Emma's head. "But not for long. We're going to sort this, Emma. I promise you that." Snow didn't know how they could sort this. But she knew that they would. She and Charming weren't losing their daughter.
