The soft georgette veil, free from all the colors slid against the marble floor of the auspicious hall, decorated with the festoons of white marigolds and the bouquet of white roses in the crystal vases at all the corners. Verdant lawns bedecked in colorless, chirpy florets could be viewed through the arched glass doors and windows. Invited guests were occupying the silver round tables possessing the tiny vases of hydrangeas, on their chairs. Even the sound systems attached to the walls were also white. Everything was devoid of colors, yet, to the invitees, everything had all the colors in this world.
Seeing his bride entering the hall with the bridesmaids and the tiny flower-girl carrying bamboo caskets in their petite hands busy in ornamenting the tender velvet runners, the groom clad in full black tuxedo stood up. Though he was looking much handsome in the contrasting shade, with his hair backbrushed and mint perfume hovering around his body, she was divine in the off-shoulder georgette ballgown with three-quarter trumpet sleeves, flowers blooming at her waistbelt and neckline. The transparent veil was covering her upper face. Lips coated in a rosy shade gave a heartwarming, embarrassing smile. One hand held a bouquet of white rose and cellophane paper, another possessed the bottom. Diamond necklace skilfully covered her cleavage and the sparkling teardrop earrings came out, breaking the barrier of her veil from her ears. The tiara on her head was glimmering brighter than the sun in the sky.
Kai forgot that he was in his wedding hall. Where was he? In heaven? Was she a goddess there for welcoming him in his new life? With those flowers and that smile? The dream-studded ruby eyes were the most beautiful sight of her to him, nevertheless. Quietly, she stood beside him as the priest delivered his speech. Done with it, he turned to the phoenix-prince, "Mr. Kai Hiwatari, do you take Hilary Tachibana, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'til death do you part?"
He stared at those garnet pools, still visible under the translucent veil attached to her pearl-decked loose bun. They were facing the ground, not him. Closing his eyes, he took a sharp breath and spoke in a bold tone which reverberated in the hall like a holy chant.
"I do."
She quickly lifted her eyes, crimson stroked her cheeks. Pupils shimmered a bit. Because of tears?
"Now, Miss Hilary Tachibana," The vicar turned to the bride, "Do you take Mr. Kai Hiwatari to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'til death do you part?"
Instead of sniffing and taking her tears of happiness back, the bride let them fall like a cascade through her locked eyelids. Nodding, she whispered in the shades of sunrise, "I do."
A smile rose in the lips of Kai Hiwatari. He took her palms in his hands as all the hall clapped in unison. Applause rained there, deafening the couple completely. The priest spoke, "Congratulations, from now onwards, you're husband and wife. Now, Mr. Hiwatari, you may kiss the bride."
He was waiting for this moment eagerly, losing his patience bit by bit. Gently lifting the veil from the face of his newly wedded wife, he wrapped his arms around her slender waist and pulled her closer as she placed her palms on his well-built, round shoulders. Very slowly, as if they hadn't had any hurry, their lips embraced one another, taking one another in the safe and secured shelter of themselves. Tears rolled down on the cheeks of the brunette, he wiped them very carefully and continued showering his immense affection on her lips with his. Nose collided very softly with nose, lips didn't know how it happened. Everyone in the hall cheered, girls giggled but it was beyond their attention now.
Not the first, not the last. Yet, this kiss was the divinest of all kisses in their lives, they knew it.
And...Done! That's how to end a week of love but not the entire love story. See, still a long life is ahead for our beautiful, divine, precious couple.
Dear Tatu, how was it? I hope you've liked it. And the other KaiHil fans to whom I didn't dedicate any of the chapters of this seven-shot, pardon me for not including you here. Whoever have been left, I'll surely dedicate my Valentine-special one-shot "Sakura and bumblebee" to them. Stay tuned.
Do read and review. Pardon the grammatical and spelling errors. Take care and stay safe :D
