That night I lay in my bed but I didn't feel the least bit sleepy. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened earlier today at the Tree Lighting Ceremony. I couldn't help but wonder if that was Nyarlathotep's way on taunting me. But it still disturbed me to see him there. To know that that Outer God has invaded our town and could even walk among us like that. It was a scary thought. I kept twisting and turning in my bed, trying to get comfortable.

Just when I was starting to doze off, the sound of breaking glass immediately snapped me wide awake. What the hell was that? It came from the living-room. I was already scrambling out of my bed and hurrying to see what it was. Out in the hallway, I bumped into my parents and Kevin who were also looking just as concerned. And that's when we first heard it. We heard loud voices outside. It sounded like something crazy was going on out there.

"Goddamnit!" my dad said irritably. "I thought I told those hobos to stay away from our house."

When we clicked on a light, we were shocked to see an old rubber tire sitting in front of the broken window. Somebody threw a tire through our window? Then I heard more chaotic noises outside. Dad was already running to the front door, yanking it open and stepping outside to see what was going on. To our horror, we saw people assaulting each other, breaking into houses to try to steal things, setting things on fire, stealing cars and driving them erratically, vandalizing property, and smashing things with blunt weapons. It was absolute chaos.

"Oh my god! What's happening?" my mom raised her hands to her cheeks while looking horrified.

But my dad was already running back into the house and locking the door. "This is nuts! Nothing but hoodlums out there! Where are the police? Kevin, go make sure the back-door is locked!"

While Kevin hurried away, Karen appeared and she was starting to getting scared. "What's going on?" she cried. "Mom? What's all the noise outside?"

Suddenly there was loud banging at our front-door like somebody was trying to kick it down. Karen screamed and ran into mom's arms while my dad was already standing guard in front of the door. "You crazy assholes had better get away or I'm calling the cops on you!" dad yelled angrily.

This was not good. Somebody had to do something. Criminals were running rampant out there. I knew what had to be done. I turned away and ran back to my bedroom to go fetch my vigilante outfit. But then I heard my phone ringing and I quickly answered it. It was Stan. "Kenny! The whole town's gone to hell. Everyone has gone mad!"

"I know," I said gravely while dressing into my outfit. "I think one of those assholes just tried to break into my house! Where are the cops when you need them?"

"Dude, you know how it is," Stan said. "We locked all our doors and windows. My dad went out to see what was going on but hasn't been back yet. We're all worried. Kyle called me not long ago and said somebody was trying to steal their car. Why is this happening?"

"I don't know. But somebody has to try to put a stop to it." Then I added determinedly. "This town needs Mysterion more than ever." After reassuring Stan that my family and I were safe, I hung up the phone and went out my bedroom window. This was gonna get ugly. But someone needed to restore order.

As Mysterion, I hurried to see if I could chase these crazy fuckers away from my house. One of the thugs was lighting up a Molotov cocktail and preparing to throw it at my doorstep. I reached him in time and my fist collided with his cheek to stop him just in the nick of time. Next I dodged as another thug came swinging a lead pipe at me. To my utter shock, I recognized Mr. Mackey coming at me with the pipe. But the look in his eyes looked wild and insane. This can't be right. Mr. Mackey wasn't the type to attack people for no reason. Is it possible that the townspeople really have lost their senses somehow?

"Time to die, m'kay?" Mr. Mackey tried to bring the pipe down on my head. I felt bad but I had to defend myself. I brought my fist up and nailed Mr. Mackey in the gut to make him drop the pipe and fall to his knees. Hopefully that would be enough to snap him out of it.

After that, I worked my way down the neighborhood street, trying to stop people from committing all acts of criminal activity. And just like with Mr. Mackey, their eyes looked funny. It was like they were being driven into madness… What was causing everyone to go crazy like this? I managed to stop another citizen from smashing people's windows in with a golf-club by delivering another hard punch to the face. But further down the street, I stopped and stared when I recognized somebody else going insane.

Randy Marsh was laughing manically while smashing somebody's car with a bat. Unsurprisingly, it seemed that this has had a major effect on Randy as well. So that would explain why he hasn't been back. I guess I better do something to help. I went over to intervene but Randy with a crazed look in his eyes came at me with the bat to attack. For once, I don't think he was drunk. I easily dodged the bat and then proceeded to knee him in the balls. Now Randy dropped to his knees while clutching his private parts. That should definitely snap him out of it.

"Sorry Mr. Marsh," I apologized. "But it's for your own protection."

But then someone snuck up behind me and wrapped a chain around my neck and began to tug hard. I tried throwing them off but they were too strong. Choking and gagging, my heart began to race in panic when I realized I might die… Suddenly my assailant loosened his grip and I was able to rip the chain off my neck and breathe again. When I spun around, I saw my boyfriend dressed as his vigilante alter-ego, Toolshed, who had knocked out my attacker with a pipe wrench.

"Looks like you could use a helping hand, partner," Toolshed grinned at me. He wasn't the only one. Human Kite and The Coon had also come to help out as well.

"What the hell is happening in this town?" the Coon said frowning irritably. "Some crazy asshole just tried to break in our house and steal my X-Box! I think I may have accidentally killed the guy…"

"Why is this even happening?" Human Hite said seriously. "Everyone is suddenly attacking, stealing, and breaking things. It doesn't make any sense. Everyone seemed pretty normal earlier at the Tree Lighting Ceremony."

Before I could say something, a sudden unexpected explosion erupted from Tom's Rhinoplasty that sent all of us ducking for cover. Damn, looks like things were getting worse by the second. "Come on guys. Let's just kick these people's asses and snap them out of it!" I ordered.

"Fine by me," the Coon sneered while flexing his claws.

With that, my friends and I teamed up to stop the South Park citizens from causing mayhem in the streets. Toolshed angrily punched a man to stop him from trying to torch down a Pet Shop. Out of concern, Toolshed hurried inside the store to make sure the animals inside weren't injured. Human Kite stopped a bunch of punks from throwing stones through windows and vandalizing personal property. Human Kite grabbed two of them and clonked their heads together to snap them out of their mad frenzy. A third one snuck up behind Human Kite armed with a brick but only to be stopped by The Coon who gave him a nasty scratch to the face before punching them out. Human Kite and The Coon exchanged admiring glances while fighting together.

I was in the middle of stopping a thug from trying to steal a car-radio when I happen to look up and saw something suspicious. Standing off to the side by an alleyway, I spotted a hooded figure standing there. They looked familiar. There was a lot of craziness going on but the cloaked figure looked way too calm. And then it hit me. I knew right away who it was. Before I knew it, I was already running after him.

"Hey you!" I shouted angrily. But the hooded figure was already sprinting away down the alleyway. By the time I reached it, the hooded figure managed to disappear from sight. It was a Starry Wisdom cultist.

I should have known. It practically took us two hours into the night but eventually the police finally arrived and managed to stop the rest of the mad-induced citizens from doing any more harm. It turned out some of the police officers have gone insane too and they've been working to bring order to the police force before heading out to stop the rest of the town. It hadn't been easy but my friends and I have were a big help to stopping all the havoc in the neighborhood. Once things have calmed down, I wasted no time in telling my friends what I saw earlier.

"Of course, it makes perfect sense," Kyle said. "So you think Nyarlathotep caused all this madness? But why? What's the point in all of this?"

"To create chaos…," Stan said uneasily. There was a tense silence after this. "What are we supposed to do now? What if something like this happens again?"

But I knew what I was going to do. Now I knew for sure that this was Nyarlathotep's doing. That diabolical eldritch bastard was still making fun of me. But he's gone too far this time. This time I wasn't going to allow him to keep torturing me like this. I knew there was only thing for me to do. Rather if I liked it or not, I had to face Nyarlathotep once and for all.
