Trembling hands- part 2
A guest asked for a oneshot of…a read and see story.
The one thing I will say is this is set as though Emma hasn't seen the oracle and therefore doesn't know about her visions.
Never before had Storybrooke been under threat from so many villains all at once. Not only were Hyde and the Evil Queen in full force, but there were all the villains brought over from the Land of Untold Stories. As such, the heroes' focus was split. There simply weren't enough of them to patrol important areas and keep a specific eye out for certain high profile villains. Hyde and the Evil Queen in particular were taking full advantage of the current situation to terrorise all of Storybrooke's residents. The Evil Queen, especially, had her eye on a set few. The Charming family (especially Snow) high on her list. So it wasn't a major shock when she was able to break through the protection spells placed around the loft apartment and appear right in front of Snow, Charming and Emma. Fortunately, Neal was napping in his parents' bedroom at the time. If the Evil Queen thought for a moment she was getting anywhere near Neal, she had another thing coming.
The Evil Queen smirked at the slight shock on the family's faces.
"Having a nice cosy night in?" She asked. "Sorry to intrude."
"Get out." Snow snarled, grabbing her bow and loading an arrow, aiming it right at the Evil Queen's chest. Charming too had picked up his sword and was ready for a fight. She was completely unfazed by either of their weapons. To her back, Emma was trying to get her magic to work with her, but that's when the vision came, and then the trembles started. Snow and Charming could see this, but they didn't say anything, in fear of the Evil Queen picking up on it and targeting Emma.
"No, no I don't think I will." The Evil Queen replied coolly. "You and I have some old business to take care of, now don't we Snow?"
"No, we don't." Snow snarled. "Try anything and you'll have more holes in you than Swiss cheese in seconds. Try us." Snow warned her. The Evil Queen just chuckled. She twisted her hand and suddenly, Charming was on the floor.
"Charming!"
"Dad!"
The Evil Queen had forgotten the so-called Saviour was present. She took one look at her and her quivering hands and knew she was no threat.
"Having some trouble dear?" She asked, looking gleefully at Emma's hands.
"You don't touch her." Snow snarled, her bow loaded. The Evil Queen turned her back to Emma.
"Fine." She said. "She can wait until after you're both dead. She's lost her touch anyway." With another flick of her hand Snow dropped her bow, her arm twisted right up her back. She yelled out in agony."
"Mom!" Emma called out. Her hands were shaking too badly for her to be of any use. She was beginning to panic. The Evil Queen was about to kill both her parents and she would be powerless to prevent it. By this point, Snow was writhing on the floor in agony with the magic the Evil Queen was pulsing through her. The Evil Queen strode over confidently. She stood over Snow's body, ready to finally get her revenge. Emma mentally shook herself. She couldn't let this happen. Using all her concentration, Emma forced the magic to come from out her hands and force the Evil Queen out of their home. Emma then fell to her knees, exhausted. That had been far too close.
Charming had woken up a few minutes later and arranged for an ambulance to come and get Snow. She was still in a bad state, but the medical team were working to help her regain consciousness from the Evil Queen's attack. While they did, Charming, Emma and Neal were waiting in the family room. There was an awkward silence hanging in the air. Emma was still beating herself up for being so useless in the incident. Charming of course didn't blame her, and he knew Snow wouldn't either, but they had to get to the bottom of whatever was causing these trembles of hers.
"What's going on, Emma?" Charming asked, breaking the silence. Emma looked at her dad. "We know your hands keep shaking, and we know that's got something to do with why you can't access your magic. You obviously know something's not right, what is it?"
"I-I don't know." Emma stammered. Charming could see she wasn't lying. "I just keep seeing this weird vision. Some kind of fight. Then my hands start shaking and I can't do anything. I keep hoping it'll stop, that it's just because I'm tired or something, but it's not stopping, dad. It's getting worse." Charming wrapped an arm around Emma, pulling her closer to him until she rested her head on his shoulder. "It's my fault mom's in there." Emma sniffled. "If I had just not buried my head in the sand over this…"
"Hey." Charming said gently. "Emma, you couldn't have known the Evil Queen would break in and attack us. True, you need to get this shaking seen to by someone who knows what they're talking about, but this was not your fault. You hear me?" Emma nodded, but she would still blame herself. Charming frowned as he held Neal with one arm and had the other wrapped around Emma. He was worried about Snow, and now he was worried about Emma. He was trying so hard to be strong for his family, but he didn't know how long he could go on being so strong, especially when they didn't have many answers right now.
