One good deed
Nebula asked for a oneshot of Snow and Charming- having not been responsible for Lily being taken and turned dark- find out about the situation and offer to help Maleficent. In return, Maleficent tells them she will do everything in her power to prevent Regina's dark curse so they can raise their baby.
After Snow became pregnant, her perception on certain things changed slightly. So when she found out that there was a plot by some desperate merchants for some easy cash to take the child of Maleficent the witch to send them to another realm, she had to stop them. Arguments were put to Snow that maybe it was for the best. That this child would be raised by one of the evillest women in the realm, so who knows what they'd turn out like? But Snow would risk having another villain to face. What she couldn't face would be her own conscious if a mother lost their child because she refused to step in. Since she and Charming were facing that possibility under the threat of Regina, Snow would do what she could to stop another mother facing that pain. Charming, although hesitant at first, stood by Snow in her decision. In the end, she was right, no mother should lose their child.
With some careful planning and working alongside Maleficent, Snow and Charming were able to scare off the merchants who threatened her unborn child (that Snow and Charming were slightly surprised to discover was an egg) and place protection around her cave and her castle until the child was born. To their surprise, the witch seemed incredibly grateful to the Charmings.
"You face your own threat to your own child." She said calmly when Snow and Charming made their final visit to her cave to explain the protection to her. Snow placed a protective hand over her ever growing bump, which was covered by Charming's strong hand.
"We do." Snow said calmly. "But we already have a solution to that in the making." Snow was reluctant to give details of the wardrobe to Maleficent. They may have protected her unborn child, but she was still a villain at the end of the day.
"That wardrobe cannot protect you all." Maleficent said calmly. Snow looked up at her. If she knew about the wardrobe…then did Regina too? Maleficent smiled in a way that made the hairs on the backs of Snow and Charming's necks stand up. "People talk, Snow White. But do not worry, if Regina doesn't already know she will not be hearing about the protection you have put in place from me. In fact, as much as it pains me to admit it, I am in debt to you both. You saved my child from a very cruel fate. So I will do my best to protect yours from the same. Then we shall be even, and our usual relations can resume."
"You would stop Regina from enacting her curse?" Charming asked. "How?"
"Leave the specifics to me." Maleficent answered him. "I cannot promise anything, Regina is very powerful, and very angry, but not unstoppable. You saved my child, so I will do everything in my power to save yours." Snow nodded, an understanding reached. Not between hero and villain; but between mothers.
"Thank you." Snow said sincerely. Maleficent just nodded, uncomfortable at the idea of working with her enemies, but she owed them. Charming and Snow then left. They looked at each other briefly before embracing. Their child might just be saved.
