ISMKPG: two

"Turn around please." Maria said as the new teacher turned in the most unfashionable way, she thought as she shook her head.

"Slowly…"

Georg looked at himself as he spoke, "Do I not look presentable enough, Ms. Rainier?"

"It's Mrs.Rainier, Mr. VonTrapp. Your sweater is a bit tight, I can barely breath by just looking at them, those shoes looked older than Egypt and those pants doesn't look so comfortable at all~"

"Well I am certainly comfortable to what I am wearing at the moment, and~"

Maria looked at him and said, "Well I am not. You are to teach my children in my house and you are not to interrupt me when I'm speaking so please refrain your strict attitudes and constant lack of patience on me because I am not one of your students."

Georg looked at her a bit furious as she continued talking again.

"You are to stay in this house while doing your job. You are to dine with us three times a day. I'll not forbid you to go out but I don't want you giving my children ideas where, why, how and whatever else have you done outside. I will forbid you, however, on bringing women, alcohol, cigarettes and drugs here and also you will not visit those bars and come in here drunk afterwards. I hired you to give formal education and I trust your maturity enough that you won't assault my children and the staff."

She looked at him as she finally asked, "Do I make myself clear?"

Georg only nodded as he's trying to stop himself from talking back.

"Schedules are very important in this house, as well as discipline, everyone should be eating breakfast at seven in the morning, lunch at 12 noon and dinner at seven in the evening. Children are supposed to be asleep at ten and up before breakfast. You can have your classes after breakfast until lunch and continue it in the afternoon until 5 p.m. They are not to leave the library at school hours unless you're teaching something that heavily requires you to do so."

Maria casted a stern look on him as she said, "I won't interfere on your personal schedule but I won't have you sharing it with my children as well."

She looked at the clock on her wrist as she continued, "Because you came in here unexpectedly, I'll give an exemption for your choice of clothing but I would like you to wear something less tight and more modern and stylish next time." she looked at his clothes with disgust as she looked at his face which is starting to have a grimly expression.

"If you don't have those types of clothing, I'll suggest you have your remaining free time buying some. I won't let you wear that dead and supposed to be buried shoes and tight ensemble around my household for the rest of the year, do you understand?"

Georg nodded again and Maria coldly walked away from him and pulled a string as he heard bells ring at certain rooms, followed by some running.

In seconds, there are three children standing stiff in front of him.

"Children, he is your new teacher, Georg Von Trapp." Maria said with no emotion as she looked at Georg and said, "I trust showed you their profiles?"

Georg nodded as he said, "Though I believe I am only to teach these two, Ms. Rainier."

"Mrs.Rainier, Mr. VonTrapp. Now Martha's only four but it would be rude if she's not here to be introduced." Maria looked at her watch again as she took a bell out of her pocket and handed it to him.

He looked at the thing as if it's a piece of stinky garbage and looked at her with questioning looks.

Maria avoid his looks as she took out her own bell and looked at the children, "On your signal, you will say how you wanted to be called and your age."

Georg watch in horror as she made three different sounds on the bell and the eldest spoke.

"Elise, 16."

Maria made another sound with different pattern and the only boy spoke, "Fred, 16."

Georg glared at her as she made another pattern and repeated it with increasing volume until the youngest spoke, "Martha, 4."

Maria turned to Georg as she looked at the bell on his hand, " Now, let's see how well you listened."

"Pardon me, Ms. Rainier , but I didn't listen to the bell. I was too preoccupied listening to these children- your children. They have such lovely voices." Georg scoffed as he met her glare with his 'attempted-to-be-innocent' look.

Maria raised her eyebrows as she nodded, "Is that so? Very well then, you should know their signal soon or you'll be lost. Now, when I ask for you, this is what you will hear."

She started making new patterns when he interrupted.

"With all due respect, Ms. Rainier, but I would never, never.. answer to a bell…. when humans discovered a special and useful thing called a voice. Bells are long gone as a tool of communication in family houses for over a century and I won't answer to one if I am to dress modernly inside this house. It would be like a literal oxymoron."

Maria looked at him furious for a while before she spoke in still a lower tone, " Ms. Huber must have a hard time having an argument with you."

"She won once and here's where it got me." Georg sniffed as she started walking towards the door.

He held the bell and for the first time made a sound of patterns loudly as she turned to him.

"Pardon again, Ms. Rainier , but I don't know your signal." he mocked as she looked at the children, two of which are trying to stifle a laugh.

She looked back to him and said, "It's Mrs.Rainier, Trapp."

"Don't you see how he answer mother right there? I mean- Lis.. come on.. we both know you found it funny too." Frederick said once they entered the privacy of her bedroom.

Martha jumped at the bed as she giggled, "He can't remember the signals.."

"I bet he did, he just denied it because he doesn't want to use the bell." Frederick said as he took a bucket below the bed and looked at it, "We'll still do the plan though, right? Don't we need adjustments. He looks though."

"May I have to remind you that it's you who made the adjustments because you kept on adding your own ideas on the plan. And yes- I don't like male teachers, especially those who argue with mother. So be sure you'll put that where nobody can see and be sure it's him that's going to be the victim and not one of us nor mother." Elisabeth said as she fixed her hair.

Martha stood up as she walked to the door, "I'll see if he's covered in tape now."

"Bring your phone, I want a picture…" Frederick said as the little girl ran to the bed to get her phone and ran back to the door, excited to see if the new teacher got caught on their traps already.

Georg successfully avoided the tape path and successfully crossed the thread one as he carefully and gracefully brushed the thumbtacks with his feet.

Honestly if they made the last one last for two hours, surely whoever it is was not that stupid enough to get caught on those stuffs… he thought as he entered his room and immediately saw the floating balloon despite the darkness inside.

He knows someone's on the balcony but he pretended to not know and closed the door as a scary life size white lady posted at the back of the door welcomed his straight eyes. At the wall where the knob would hit the spot is a horn attached.

Georg smirked as he first turned on the fan, making the balloon spin around and be forced down till he reached it.

He opened the light, never missing the flying needle, and saw a small silhouette at the curtains.

"I know you're there, Martha." he said as the small girl shyly went out.

He approached her and handed the balloon, "Don't play with floating balloons in other people's bedrooms. Who knows, it may just pop."

The girl looked at him shocked as she took the balloon and raced out of the room.

Georg chuckled as he opened his bag and began to unpack his things.

"What do we have here, Annalise?" Maria asked as she looked at the half-cleaned pathway.

"Tapes and threads ma'am. It seems the new teacher avoided the children's little ritual. He also managed to clear the pathway of thumbtacks. Oh- and he handed me a small frog along with the bell, ma'am. He said he have no use with the bell and that the poor frog's been hanging around his pocket." the housekeeper said as she removed the last tape.

Maria only nodded as she watch the of the tape and threads be removed.

"Did the children set those up to give the new teacher trouble?" she asked.

Annalise groaned as she stood up as she nodded, "They always do that to every teacher this year. So far, Mr. Von Trapp is the only one who's not fooled. Maybe he's used to it. I heard public school children are as unruly as he devils in hell. The coast is clear, ma'am, no more worries."

Maria nodded as she thought of what happened to the foyer minutes ago and to what she got to know seconds ago.

Of course, she's not oblivious to her children's doings to their teachers and so far, she's impressed that Mr. Von Trapp have spared himself to their mischief. But his answers and denial to her minutes ago still imprints on top of that and it made her blood boil and her stomach curl at the same time.

It's been a long time since someone, let alone a male, dared to argue with her and she have to admit that it reminds her of her deceased husband.

Dominik.

She stopped on her tracks as she remember the last argument she have with someone was five years ago with Dominik.

What happened minutes ago was her first argument in five years.

With that impossible man named Georg Von Trapp… she mused.

Her thoughts were stopped when she heard a door opened and the same man on her thoughts came out with a different pair of his outfit minutes ago. He held a glass of different insects, a small thing that looks like a chicken bouillon on the cap and a shiny soap on his other hand.

"Ah- Ms. Rainier. Pardon me for my choice of clothing but I attempted to have a nice shower after a very long ride but I guess a bunch of spiders have spilled a bottle nail polish on the soap and turned the shower head into something edible. Also, someone on the toothpaste factory must have swapped mustard to their formula. Luckily I always have a glass for unruly spiders and my own vanity. Unfortunately, I don't bring spare shower heads and I don't know where I can let these spiders free." he said as she looked at the spiders and back at him.

"I'm afraid I have no help on your problems, Mr. Von Trapp. Nor I asked to be knowledgeable of it." she said and coldly walk away leaving him staring to her back until she was out of his sight.

"Martha! What I told you to do when you got caught?" Fred asked as his little sister returned with the balloon.

Martha frowned as she said, "Ran and not get caught. But he's not angry at me! He looks cool you know!"

"Cooler than me?" Fred asked.

Martha slowly nod as she let go of the balloon, "He didn't scream like a girl and he's very fine. I like him.. he didn't shout at me when he saw me hiding."

"And where did you hide?"

"Behind the curtains on the balcony where you always hide me.."

Frederick and Elisabeth exchanged looks as they looked at the balloon.

"Do you still think it's a good idea to put the water? I mean- he looks fine to me." Frederick said as his twin glared.

"I don't need a teacher to teach me."

"But I do."

"Even if you're supposed to be having a nice winter break?"

Frederick groaned as he stood up the bed and tried to reach the balloon, "I have no idea what you have against male teachers, Lis. But I have to admit, he's the finest one we have this year."

"Because he argued to mother and got out of the traps, is that it?" Elisabeth said as Martha added, "And he didn't shout at me."

"I still don't like him." Elisabeth said as she turned on the ceiling fan, bringing the balloon on Frederick's reach, "I'd prefer female teachers, I hate males."

Frederick looked at her, "I'm a male-"

"No. You're still a boy." Elisabeth brushed as she turned off the fan, "Males are more matured."

"I am matured." Frederick argued.

"Says who?"

"Ms. Josephine, four teachers ago." Frederick stated a matter-of-factly as Elisabeth shook her head.

"She said incorrigible, not matured."

"Isn't that the same thing?"

"Oh please, read a dictionary." Elisabeth said as she took Martha, "And while you do that, me and Martha will get ready."

The two left through the connecting door and seconds after that, someone knocked on the door.

Georg opened the door as he looked at the boy, "I don't know if you're interested in spiders but I found these on my shower."

Fred took the glass as he looked at he new teacher, "You're not angry?"

"Why would I be? It's not anyone's fault that those creatures found comfort on random room's bathroom. Aren't dinner supposed to be served at seven? It's already six-thirty. Why don't you dress up?" Georg said as he turned then looked at the boy again, "I think incorrigible means you want to be treated like a boy. It's much better than being treated like a girl, isn't it?"

Frederick smirked as he watched the new teacher leave.

Georg smiled as he felt so light.

Maybe being a teacher on these home-schooled children will not bore him and is worth it at all…
