Disclaimer: I don't own KnY.

Tanjiro and Kanao have been together for 3 years and just last week they moved in together.

Since it was a bit hectic at first, between moving everything where it goes and going to work, they haven't had a chance to relax and calmly eat dinner together at home; they always met up somewhere to eat after work.

Tanjiro doesn't have anything against restaurants but, as someone who was raised on mostly home-cooked meals, he tends to prefer the food one makes at home.

So, now that the moving in was done with and he was able to finish work on time today, he passed by the grocery store and bought everything he needs to cook.

'Kanao won't be back for a while… but there is no way I can finish preparing everything before she gets here.' He thought. 'Well, I'll at least surprise her when she gets home.' Grinning from ear to ear, he took his phone and sent her a message. 'I'll be home after work, don't worry about dinner, I already took care of it.'

About ten seconds later, he got a reply.

'Alright, I should be there on time, I'll tell you if something happens.'

Tanjiro sent a quick 'ok' before pocketing his phone.

'Alright, I double-checked I had everything before leaving the store and we have all the appliances we need at home.' He fist bumped the air with a serious expression. 'For the sake of our first home-made meal while living together, do your best, me!'

Tanjiro was in the middle of cutting some onions when he heard the door open.

"I'm back." Kanao called out.

"Welcome home." He said from the kitchen. "How was work?" He asked when he heard her enter the living room.

"Good, what about you… are you cooking?" Even without turning around, he could imagine how her eyes widened and her lips turned upside into a smile.

"Yep!" Tanjiro grinned and turned to look at her over his shoulder. "Now that we finished moving in, I wanted us to have a proper home-cooked meal."

"That's great!" Kanao exclaimed, moving near him. "What are you making?"

"Curry, it will still take some time until it's ready, though." Tanjiro smiled.

"How can I help?"

"Can you get started on the carrots and potatoes? I'm almost done with the onions so I'll get started on the meat."

"Of course." Nodding, she got an apron and began her task. "How was work for you?"

"It went great, I had a lot of customers at the bakery." Tanjiro answered with a chuckle. "I actually got worried that I wouldn't be able to leave on time since a line had formed near the end but I managed."

"How did you do it?"

"Ah, you see." He raised a finger to the roof with a thoughtful expression, as if he could paint the image there. "A customer mentioned that the place sure is popular because the line outside is long so I asked 'Really? How long is it?' and it was apparently long enough to reach the end of the block."

"The bakery is almost at the middle, that's amazing." Kanao mentioned with a grin.

"I know, I got really worried there." Tanjiro chuckled. "There was no way I could finish everyone's orders, not to mention more people could come, and have time to buy groceries and get started on preparing dinner; not if I do everything like usual, at least."

"So what did you do?"

He raised his index finger.

"First, I ran to the end of the line, one of our regulars was there so I asked them to hold the 'my apologies but we'll close after this person' sign."

"You have one of those?" Tanjiro couldn't help but chuckle at her gob smacked expression.

"This is the first time I ever used it." He answered, still chuckling. "Then I ran back inside, I have already arranged everything at the bakery how I want it so it was only a matter of not wasting time, I pretty much grabbed what they asked me the moment they said it and I was ready for the next thing the next moment."

"Pff, hehe."

"What is it?" Tanjiro asked, relishing on the sound of her laugh.

"Sorry, I just pictured you jumping around behind the counter of the bakery to grab everything and the image was funny for some reason."

The Kamado chuckled alongside her until her laugh died out.

"In any case, I managed to take care of all the customers just before it was time to close; I had to rush a bit when closing up but I had enough time to get groceries and come back home."

"You should have told me, I could have finished work earlier and come help."

"I wanted to surprise you." Tanjiro replied happily as he cut the meat in cubes.

"Well…" He noticed her blush from the corner of his eye but, before he could say anything, he felt her lips land softly on his cheek.

"Kanao?"

"A reward…" She whispered.

"…I'll have to surprise you more often." Tanjiro said with a blush of his own before kissing the top of her head.

The two continued to cook together in comfortable silence.

Tanjiro and Kanao were sitting side by side on the table and just finished eating the curry.

"I know we're the ones that made it but that was delicious." Tanjiro said happily as he patted his stomach.

"It really was." Kanao agreed, leaning on his shoulder. "It feels… like we haven't had a chance to be together like this for a long time."

"It hasn't even been an entire week yet." The Kamado moved his left arm around her back and pulled her closer. "But… it feels a lot longer."

"I guess we had gotten used to a routine and moving in together messed it up a bit." She mentioned, getting comfortable against Tanjiro's chest.

"Yeah…" Tanjiro trailed off, his gaze moving to her. "Kanao." He moved his right hand to her face and gently cupped it, making her look up at him.

He slowly closed the distance until their lips touched, his left arm tightening his hold on her while Kanao's arms moved behind his neck to pull him closer.

"…we both have work tomorrow, right?" Tanjiro asked, moving away just enough to talk.

"Yes." She said softly before starting another kiss.

'Ah…' He hugged her as close as he could. 'We're definitely gonna be late, and sleepy, tomorrow.' That was the last work-related thought Tanjiro had that night.

Woohoo! Day 4 is ready!

This was the hardest for me so far, I just couldn't come up with something, I'm quite happy with what I got in the end, though; it's a good thing I planned ahead and prepared days 1 and 2 before the week started so I have extra time to write the other days, hehe.

As always, I hope you enjoyed, I certainly did!

Until tomorrow!
