Entranced, Chapter five

We sat rather anxiously in a row of chairs while Mrs Zambini laid down a few rolls of parchment on a small desk and picked one up after flattening them out.

She presented it to us and we could see a clear triangle with runic squiggles at each point that I couldn't read.

I looked to Blaise who flicked his eyes over and over the runes before glancing up hopelessly at his mother.

"Are we supposed to understand?"

She smiled and laid it down on the table in front of us and pointed to one of the points.

"I suppose not... You haven't been paying much attention in your runes class have you?" The boys looked sheepish but I frowned.

I prided myself on being at least above average at most classes and runes was not one of my weakest subjects. But none of these runes looked like anything I had ever seen before... Until I tilted my head.

Mrs Zambini raised her brows as I grabbed the parchment and twisted it to that the leftmost point was facing me and the rectangular scroll was at a tangent.

Deep Vakish. The way the runes curved outwardly gave it away as soon as it was the right way up.

I didn't know much but I could make out the odd foreboding word and swallowed grimly.

I looked up to Mrs Zambini and frowned.

"Deep Vakish is Veela isn't it? Was does Veela magic have to do with us?"

Her eyes widened in surprise as did Draco and Blaises while they muttered something about 'bookworm' but not in an insulting way.

"You are correct. This scroll is Veela. As is the magic is speaks of. I'm impressed...but..." She sighed and looked miserably at her son.

"I'm afraid it concerns you all very much. You see... You all have a very small amount of Veela blood within you. Barely a 1/16 but it makes this triad make a lot more sense."

Veela? Veela?

No one in my family was a part Veela! Or at least no one told me!

After a quick scan of both boys faces I could see it so clearly now, especially in Draco. His skin and hair would have been a dead giveaway... but Blaise, while handsome and alluring, was not displaying the ghostly traits.

"How does that make sense?" Blaise frowned, the boldest one of us to press his mother for answers.

"Because..." She sighed, seeming to think hard as if to word her next sentence carefully.

"Because Veela magic is quite complex. You would have felt a pull with these two." She said to me, gesturing to the boys flanking me.

"And you would have eventually chose one or the other... But due to the matching, we amplified that attraction and you were all in close proximity when it happened. Essentially... You bonded. As all Veela do, bonded for life. Your biology deemed you a worthy match for each other."

My jaw dropped. Did that mean it was too late to ever change our minds? Were we sealed together forever?

I tried my hardest to ignore the large swell of happiness in my chest, reminding myself it might not be real... Although I now questioned it.

"But that is only a small part of your triad... Blaise, Draco... Is there anything you'd like to admit?" My eyes narrowed as I watched her smirk knowingly and the boys looked to each other and away again.

"Admit... What?" I asked slowly, feeling as if I knew the answer anyway...

"I know." She said with a kind smile to her son which seemed to break the anxious silence.

Dracos voice came up, unsure.

"You say the Veela blood in us attracted us to each other? Before the matching?"

Mrs Zambini nodded and gave him a wink which causes Draco to stifle an embarrassed groan.

Oh, so I had assumed right... And it wasn't to do with the triad...

That fact brought me some genuine happiness as I stayed silent and listened politely.

"Father will kill me..." Draco sighed and Blaise leaned behind me to place a hand on his shoulder while Mrs Zambini scoffed.

"I'll jinx his head to the wall if he dared. He is far too old fashioned. You have a wife in waiting," she gestured to me.

"so he has no argument to stand on if he complains about Malfoy heirs."

I suddenly felt no more than a baby making machine and frowned at the scroll.

She walked over to the small side table as Blaise comforted Draco behind me and in rolled another scroll, laying it over the first.

On the parchment was a bolt of text in the same runes.

"Now... Triads between Veela aren't overly rare. There are some communities where the males outnumber the females and thruple marriages are an often are mostly the European Veela on the southern side. The warmer temperatures seem to encourage male births." She shook her head.

"Anyway... These Veela have a particular source of magic that strengthen their shared bonds. And that is the magic we accidentally invited to combine with the matching. But it doesn't occur randomly. Your blood comes from South European Veela. Hence the open sexualities of Draco and Blaise. The males needed to share an emotional bond to overcome their dominant and aggressive nature's towards each other... It's not always sexual, but it can be confusing." She said warmly to the boys and I looked down at my knees.

I suddenly felt like an intruder to their relationship rather than being the centre of interest. Not that I enjoyed being the centre of attention, but I did feel awful to be stepping into a growing bond between the boys that they could now finally understand.

"So it's not instinct... It's nature?" Draco said slowly after a long pause.

Mrs Zambini gave a sad nod.

"The more time spent with each other, the more dominant that nature will become. It won't fade. The intensity will get far worse before it gets better."

"What about the sealing kiss?" I asked with a frown, feeling my resolve weaken and strengthen about the future of our triad.

Mrs Zambini sighed and began to roll up the scrolls.

"This is a beast of a different coat I'm afraid. A kiss will do nothing. It will need to be affirmed through a ritual."

Her words sent a barrel of relief through me and I slumped back in my seat with a relieved exhale.

I didn't need to be so on edge anymore! Our fate was still up to us and not our blind instincts.

It seemed Draco and Blaise shared my relief and shared large grins.

"Any other information?" I asked, leaning forward in my chair once more.

She smiled and shook her head.

"That's all I know for now. I will keep digging and keep you updated. For now, you're safe."

She walked around the table to kiss Blaises cheek and wish us all farewell as she left the room.

After the room fell quiet I got up to leave too, needing some time to process alone. I was thankful to find the boys did not follow or ask where I was going as I vanished around the corner down the hall.

I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I just needed to walk. I needed to pick apart the differences in myself. What had changed in the last two days?

I was pretty much the same I had supposed, just I felt strongly pulled to Draco and Blaise now... But I had never been around them before to gauge the difference that the matching had made...

I just wish I could have known how I would have normally been around them... Considering they had been in a complex emotional and possibly physical relationship before the matching...

My eyes drifted all around me to the beautiful ball room I had walked into, the same one I had been matched in.

I eyed the spot where the fountain had been.

Where I had first properly laid eyes on Draco and Blaise...

Where I had danced with them and felt so many things.

Hesitantly, I walked over to stand in that same spot I had felt the first powerful wave of attraction and closed my eyes.

I don't know just how long I stood there, eyes closed and replaying our meeting over and over in my head, but it was enough time for someone to find me and gently take my hand.

I didn't open my eyes but knew from the feel of it that it was Draco, even though he didn't say anything.

My other hand lifted up and met with another that I was certain was Blaises as I felt his presence close by.

I waited for a few heartbeats more until I opened my eyes, slowly meeting theirs and smiling softly.

With a flick of his wand, Draco bewitched the large record player in the corner to play. He pocketed his wand and pulled me close to sway with him wordlessly.

Blaise held the back of my hand that Draco was holding and I felt their fingers intertwine on my hip and over my hand.

With a defeated sigh, I laid my head on Draco's chest and closed my eyes.

There were worse places fate could have placed me.

The world just felt too right like this. I had never felt so comfortable and content, and to know we wouldn't just snap out of it one day and be disgusted with each other was very reassuring and soothed the tension I was unaware I was carrying.

If this was the way things were meant to be, then maybe I should stop fighting it so hard...

That night after an awkward dinner with Mr And Mrs Malfoy, we climbed into bed together, tangling our limbs and holding each other as closely as we had been when we had danced, enjoying the close presence of each other too much to want to be apart for much longer than a minute.

I snuggled into Blaises chest and Draco played with my hair as he wrapped an arm around my waist.

"Are you both as scared as I am?" I said with an airy chuckle shuffling onto my back to look between them as they laid on their sides propped up on an arm each.

Draco inhaled and exhaled deeply, looking at Blaise before back down to me.

He leaned in close so that our noses were just about touching before he shifted to plant a soft kiss on my cheek, lingering there and sighing happily.

My breath caught in my throat as Blaise kissed bellow my collar bone and ran his nose up the side of my neck, making me shiver in a good way.

With both of them either side of my head, they whispered one at a time.

"A little bit..."

"But it feels right..."

And Merlin were they right...

I had to bite my lip as they kissed around my throat, collarbone and shoulders, running my hands through their hair and finding myself squirming and gasping, the little voice in my head that tried to tell me to stop was getting quieter and quieter until it all but vanished.

I grabbed Draco's face and pulled him close, both of us breathing deeply as Blaise continued to kiss at my neck and would occasionally run his hand up and down Dracos side.

Instinct driving us or not, our bodies were burning with the need to be closer, to enjoy each other more, to be more intimate...

I eyed Draco's lips as he pulled away and stared down at me passionately with his blue grey piercing eyes that made me squirm beneath him.

They had curved into a delighted smirk that looked so alluring...

I felt like I knew why I wanted to kiss Draco first... He had been the first one I noticed. The first one who I was sure I had matched with and the one I wanted to accept first...

Our lips lingered closely, barely grazing each other before I pulled him down to close the distance to zero resistance.

I was ready.
