The next morning Sarada woke up around the same time as usual. She stretched her legs and arms and sat up.
"I bet mom and dad are already up." She yawned as she got out of bed and slipped on her red robe and slippers. She walked out to the kitchen, but no one was there. "Weird. They're normally awake before me. Maybe they're talking in the back. Dad said they talk a lot."
Sarada walked to her parents room and gently opened the door so it wouldn't make any noise, in case they were still asleep. She poked her head in. They were still fast asleep. Sasuke was laying on his back and Sakura was asleep on his chest with Sasuke's arm around her.
"I guess they stayed up late…" She took a closer look and noticed something that made her blush. She noticed that her mother's back was bare. Just as silently as she walked into their room, she walked out of it, slowly closing the door behind her, before she saw something she didn't want to see. "I guess that explains it…"
Sarada walked back into the kitchen to start making breakfast. She had been learning to cook for a while now and was getting good at it. Breakfast was easy though. She started steaming rice and made broth for miso soup. As she was finishing making the eggs and fish, her parents walked in the room, fully clothed.
"Good morning, Sarada." Sakura said. "You already started breakfast?"
"You and dad slept in, so I went ahead and did it." She said blushing when she looked at her parents.
"Well, thank you, Sarada." Sakura said.
"Yeah, thanks, Sarada." Sasuke and Sakura sat down at the dining room table and began looking over the current documents they had on this virus as Sarada finished cooking breakfast. Sakura was going to be going over data all day. She could get in automatically from the hospital from her computer.
"Breakfast is done!" Sarada said bringing in the family's food. Sasuke and Sakura moved their documents and computers and helped Sarada set the table.
"It looks delicious." Sakura said as the family sat down. "Thanks for the food!"
"Thanks for the food." Sasuke said a lot quieter than his wife. Sarada smiled as she ate with her parents.
"Dad, we're still going to train today, right?"
"Yes. I was thinking we could start with the Shuriken Jutsu." Sasuke said.
"That's my specialty." Sarada said.
"I can show you some things I haven't taught Boruto. Your Uncle, my brother Itachi, it was one of his specialties as well. He taught me a few things when I was young." Sasuke said.
"I don't think I want to learn any of his techniques... he's the reason we're a clan of three." Sarada said coldly.
"If it wasn't for Itachi, there wouldn't be an Uchiha clan at all... there's a lot of details about what led up to the incident. He saved me... more than once."
"Really? Can you tell me about it?" Sarada asked. Sasuke didn't like talking about the clan's past. He knew eventually he would have to tell Sarada everything about their clan's past. Sasuke was sitting next to Sarada as usual. He raised his arm and poked her forehead with two fingers.
"I'll tell you about it next time." He said. Sarada sighed.
"Fine. Please teach me Uncle Itachi's techniques." She said.
"I also want to see your fireball jutsu again. Eventually, I want to teach you the Chidori." He said.
"Chidori, huh. Lord 7th told me about that one. It's Lightning Style. I've already copied a couple of Lightning Style attacks with my Sharigan."
"This will be different than just copying a jutsu with the Sharigan. There's a change in chakra nature that has to be done to master the Chidori. It took me a while to master it. When done correctly, the Chidori rivals the Rasengan. I managed to take it even further during my training. Instead of being one mass of lightning, I turned it into a storm of lightning strikes, Chidori Scream."
"Am I going to learn that too?"
"Well, we'll see about that one." Sasuke said nervously.
They finished eating their breakfast and cleaned everything up. Afterwards, Sasuke and Sarada went outside to the training area Sarada made in the backyard. It was an exact replica of the training ground he used when training Boruto. This would make it easy for him to figure out the best way to test her skills.
"Alright, Sarada. I'll start the same way I started with Boruto. We have plenty of time to work on things, so don't get impatient. First things, first. For right now. No Sharigan."
"Why?"
"You shouldn't always rely on your visual prowess. You need to be able to fight with and without it." Sasuke pointed to a target on the left of him. "Go for that one first."
As Sasuke spoke Sarada threw a shuriken. It crossed in front of his face and hit the target dead center. He pointed to another one across the yard. Sarada threw another, hitting it dead center again.
"This next one, I want you to bend around another target." He pointed to the obstacle. Sarada took the challenge and skillfully threw the next shuriken making it bend around another target, again hitting it dead center. "You're definitely more skilled than Boruto." Sasuke smiled proud of his daughter. "Next one is more complicated." Sasuke pointed out a route for the shuriken to follow and showed her how to do it.
He threw two shuriken at once, making one bounce off of the other and change courses. Sarada was watching closely and mimicked her father's movements without using the sharigan. She threw her two shuriken and just like her father's, they bounced off each other and changed courses, hitting the target right next to his.
"Good job."
Sakura was watching from the window inside. She was proud of Sarada for doing so well with Sasuke's training. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, but Sarada was keeping up with his expectations, if not surpassing them. She knew Sasuke was proud of her as well. She kept watching for a few minutes before she had to return to her research on the virus. She just couldn't help watching the two people she loved more than anything spending quality time together.
Sasuke then moved on to Itachi's Shuriken Jutsu. "This next one is a lot different. Seeing the results from what we've done, I think you can handle it. This is one of Itachi's." Sasuke walked to a different part of the yard and took out six kunai knives. "You're going to all six targets at the same time."
"At the same time? What kind of shinobi was Uncle Itachi?" Sarada asked.
"He was the real hero." Sasuke said.
"The real hero? What's dad talking about? I have to get him to tell me everything. If I'm going to be Hokage one day. I need to know everything about my clan, my uncle and my father. Dad is still mainly a mystery. It's like I have to peel him back one layer at a time. I wonder how mom did it."
"Itachi had his own way of doing it." Sasuke said. "He had two arms." Sasuke jumped several feet in the air turn upside down and throwing the kunai knives each one hitting the center of all six targets. He then landed on feet in front of Sarada. Sarada looked around at each target.
"Dead center." She said. "You're incredible, Dad."
"Give it a try." Sasuke said handing Sarada six of his kunai to try it. "You can do it, Sarada."
"Alright." Sarada took three kunai in each hand jumped up in the air turning upside down and threw the kunai knives. She landed in front of Sasuke and looked at the six targets and sighed.
"I'm sorry, Dad." she said. She only hit half of the targets and only two were dead center. Sasuke observed the targets around them.
"This is why we train." Sasuke said pulling the kunai out of the targets. Sarada had a sad look on her face. She felt like she let her father down. Sasuke noticed this. "What's wrong?"
"I... let you down." She said. Sasuke dropped the kunai and walked back over to Sarada putting his hand on her shoulder.
"You will never let me down. It's okay that you didn't get it on the first try. I don't expect you to be perfect at every new thing you learn. It's going to take time and hard work, but you'll master this just like you have everything else."
Sakura looked back out the window and saw Sasuke and Sarada having a serious looking conversation. She was a little worried, so she walked out to them to find out what was going on.
"Sasuke, Sarada." She said as she joined up with them. "Is everything alright?" she asked.
"Yeah, Mom. Everything is fine. Dad is teaching me a new shuriken jutsu." Sakura was skeptical.
"Why don't you practice that while I speak with your father?" She said. Sasuke nodded at Sarada and walked away with Sakura.
"I saw you having a serious looking conversation. I just wanted to make sure she really is alright." Sakura said.
"When she tried the jutsu, she didn't do it perfectly and thought she let me down. I was letting her know she'll never let me down. She thinks she has to be perfect at everything I teach her as soon as she tries it. I don't know if that's because I haven't been here. It makes me feel like i'm a bad father."
"Sasuke, you're not a bad father at all. She's not just like that with you. She is with me and everyone else. Her classmates had some medical ninjutsu training a while back. Everyone thought that because she is my daughter that she was going to be perfect at it, including herself. She wasn't able to get the hang of it and thought she let me down. I told her she needs to find her own path to go down and don't worry about trying to follow someone else."
"Sakura, you are an incredible mother and an even more incredible wife." Sasuke said putting his arm around her back. Sakura blushed.
"Mom and Dad really are cute together." Sarada thought and smiled watching her parents talk.
"Thank you, Sasuke. Sarada and I both think you are the coolest, strongest and best father around." Sasuke gave a slight smile.
"I don't know about best father." Sasuke said turning to watch Sarada practice. She was measuring the distance of each target and trying to hit them the same way she did before, but one at a time, this time. "Good, she's breaking it down. Have you gotten any more information?"
"I'm waiting on some documents from some of the other hospitals in the five nations. The other Kage wanted me to look over so details and give them my opinions." Sakura said. "I don't have much to do right now, so I said I would."
"Just don't overwork yourself. Even Naruto said to make sure to make some time for our families. I don't think he expects everyone to work themselves to death."
"I won't, you can always make me take a break if you see me overworking myself. I think tonight we should spend some time with Sarada together."
"Sounds good." Sasuke agreed.
"Hey, Dad?" Sarada yelled. Sasuke adverted his attention fully to her. "Can you come help me with one target?"
"I'll be right there." Sasuke yelled back. "Sarada needs me."
"Go on. We can talk more later." Sakura said and gave Sasuke a quick hug as he hugged her as well, before he walked back over to their daughter.
"I saw that." Sarada teased. Sasuke sighed. "Anyway, I can't figure out how to hit the one in the blind spot." Sarada said.
"Use the technique we practiced earlier while you're in the air." Sasuke said. Sarada nodded and followed her father's instructions. Putting the two techniques together, she was able to hit the target dead center. "Good work."
"Thanks, Dad."
"It's good that you're breaking it down into steps. That's how we'll have to do the Chidori later." Sasuke said. "That's the best way to learn any jutsu, it's better than just coping it with the Sharigan."
"But that Sharigan is useful in the same way. The way I was able to copy the Lightning Ball jutsu."
"It comes in handy as a good way to defend yourself against an enemy and block their attack. As well as being able to see someone's chakra flow and being able to tell if someone is under a genjutsu due to the irregular chakra flow. The Sharigan is a very useful and special dojutsu. Once mastered, the techniques you can do are nearly limitless. As you get stronger, the Sharigan gets stronger."
"You have a different Sharigan though." Sarada noticed.
"Mine is the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. I only have it because of Itachi. That's a conversation for another day. I promise, one day, I'll tell you about him. What I will tell you right now is that Itachi would have loved and protected you with his life. He would have been your best friend."
"What about anyone else in the clan? Like... Grandma and Grandpa? What were they like?" Sarada asked.
"My father was Fugaku Uchiha. He was the head of the Uchiha Clan. He was a very prideful man. He was the head of the Konoha Police force as well. He only wanted the best for me and Itachi. He went about it the wrong way, just like I did. He would have loved you and been proud of the way you turned out. Then try and recruit you into the police force. As for me, he would probably say I don't deserve to be an Uchiha."
"Dad..." Sarada said softly. "And Grandma?"
"My mother was Mikoto Uchiha. She was a lot like your mother. Supportive, caring, beautiful and kind. She was a great mother. She was always willing to help me practice my jutsu and let me know that my father cared about me, more than I thought he did. She was stern and strict though. Always making sure I left Itachi alone to do his homework. She would have been a great grandmother and would have loved you and Sakura. She would be proud of our family and no matter what, she would have been there for you."
Sarada smiled listening to her father speak about his late family. Even if its just who her grandparents were and what they were like.
"Thanks for sharing, Dad." Sarada threw a kunai passed him, hitting it in the center to break the little bit of tension she could feel from Sasuke. He wasn't normally this open. She wondered if he had ever told her mother about his family.
Sarada and Sasuke spent the next few hours continuing her training. Eventually, they both started getting worn out and decided to call it a day. Sasuke probably had to at least check in with Sai and Naruto.
"Mom, I'm gonna go lay down for a while. Dad wore me out." Sarada said. Sakura smiled.
"I remember the days of training with Sasuke. Go ahead. I'll wake you up in a little bit." Sakura said. Sarada walked to her room and closed the door.
"How did she do the rest of the day?" Sakura asked.
"Really well. She's coming along nice. We also took a short break to talk." Sasuke responded.
"About what?"
"She asked about my mother and father. I told her a little bit about them."
"What exactly?"
"About my father being the head of the Uchiha Clan and Police force. How he cared about Itachi and I, but went the wrong way about it, like I did. And about how you're just like my mother was. Kind, caring, supportive and beautiful." Sakura blushed.
"It's good that you opened up about them. I'm not surprised she started asking questions. Telling her those things probably made her really happy. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I hadn't talked about them in a long time. Since the night I told you everything. I guess it was time though. I'm sure soon she'll ask more though."
"Just do what you're comfortable with. Tell her a little bit at a time. You don't have to tell her the entire clan's history in one night like you did with me. Today was a really good start." Sasuke nodded. Sakura smiled.
"Did you get those documents?" Sasuke asked.
"Yeah. I'm just starting to go over them."
"Alright, I'm going to check in with Sai and Naruto."
"I'm going to start dinner soon, any requests?" Sakura asked.
"Whatever you want." He smiled. "Let me know if you need any help."
Sasuke walked off to check in with Naruto and Sai. They didn't have any updates on anything. Sai said everything was quiet so far. No ANBU had sensed anything and Ino said everyone in the village is supposed to be there.
Sakura made dinner for her beloved family and woke up Sarada in time to join her and Sasuke. Afterwards, they spent a couple hours talking about Sakura's family and her lineage, since they hardly see them. Sarada and Sakura are so busy they don't go visit often. She knew not everyday was going to be full of these sweet family moments with her husband and daughter, but for tonight she was glad they were able to have these family moments. She hoped her friends with families were having the same amazing moments with their husbands and children.
