Unhappy anniversary- part 2
A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2064 "Unhappy anniversary" whereby Emma, after calming down, starts feeling guilty and apologises and surprises her parents by asking for them to issue an appropriate punishment. Snow instead suggests a whole family outing to show Emma that she is truly loved and will never feel like an orphan again.
Emma couldn't believe how badly she must have embarrassed her parents. She hadn't thought about it at the time, but now that she had calmed down she realised that they must have been mortified. She felt even worse because they hadn't even mentioned it to her. Emma couldn't accept this. Yes, she had reason to be upset, but that didn't mean her actions should be excused. Emma was an adult. She had to face her consequences. So gathering her strength, Emma returned to the living room and addressed her parents, who gave Emma their full attention.
"My actions at the store earlier where inexcusable." Emma began. "Whether I was angry because of the date or not. It was you that I wronged, so it should be you that decides how I make up for what I did." Snow and Charming looked at each other, realising that, in effect, Emma was asking them for some form of punishment. They then proceeded to have one of their silent conversations, which just made Emma even more nervous. They seemed to come to a conclusion together.
"We have the perfect idea." Snow spoke up. "Emma, what we think would be best is…if you would agree to clear your diary for this Saturday so you, me, your dad, Henry and Neal can take a day out together." Emma looked at her mom, confused.
"You don't need a rap on the knuckles for getting upset today Emma. That's not going to help one bit." Charming began to explain. "What you need is to be reminded that what made you sad is now a past issue. It's not something you need to worry yourself with ever again. You need to be reminded that you have a whole family now that loves you. So yes, that's what we've decided." Charming said, slipping his hand into Snow's.
"O…kay." Emma said, still not convinced, but she wasn't going to complain that she wasn't being put on desk duty. Snow and Charming, however, were very convinced. Yes, this was the right way to deal with this problem. This was how best to stop is happening again.
