Left forever
guest 55 asked for a oneshot of Emma going back to Boston after a week in Storybrooke. Therefore, the curse was never broken.
I had fulfilled my promise to my son. I still couldn't quite believe that I was a mother. Well, I wasn't really. More like some kind of aunt. Man, that kid's family was messed up. He didn't want me to leave, but Storybrooke wasn't the place for me. Besides, me and Regina at each other's throats all the time wouldn't be good for him. That much, I knew.
We were able to strike up a deal, Regina and I. I was able to come to Storybrooke every second Saturday and spend the day with Henry. I was also allowed to take him to Boston for one week every summer. Although Regina was pretty confident I would have given up on him by then. How little she really knew about me.
I could always feel her watching when I was with the kid, but I supposed that was the price I paid for leaving Storybrooke. I knew Henry hadn't really forgiven me for going back, but I had a life to go back to in Boston. I had nothing in Storybrooke. He kept trying to convince me to come back for good, that I could still break this curse he had concocted, but I wasn't coming back for good. I would only ever step foot in Storybrooke every second Saturday to see him. He would come to accept that…eventually. He would grow out of this fairytale phase. I was confident of that as well. Kids can't believe stuff like that forever…can they?
