Hello my lovely people! I hope you like this story I have written up. It took me two years to complete! Please enjoy and feel free to ask any questions. Thank you!
I stirred at the sound of birds above me chirping and singing. Gentle lapping of water swirled around my hips with my upper body and head resting on the bank. I groaned softly in pain and touched my head.
I was alive.
I groaned again before I opened my eyes. Darkness. I felt my eyes blink and still nothing but darkness. I traced the outline of my eye with my finger to actually see if it was open. It was. I gasped and bolted upright into a sitting position and regretted it. My head was pounding and the gash on my temple wasn't helping. It was then that I whipped around my head wildly, much to my unenjoyment, to see if I could see anything. Maybe it was just night time. No, I could feel the sun beating down on my face. I reached out to where my legs were and felt water come in contact with my hand. I cupped it and brought the water up to my face. I splashed my face and my eyes before rubbing them. I opened them and found nothing but darkness again.
"No...no,no,no,no,no…" I kept splashing my eyes with water and rubbing them. Still darkness. I was panicking now.
"NO!" I screamed before falling back against the bank of the river. I pressed the heels of my hands against my eyes, closing them as I panted heavily. Feeling my chest rise and fall at a quick beat.
"No...Eru why?" I murmured, feeling the sun beat down on my face and hands. The river murmured around my legs and waist. I was soaking wet but I didn't care. All I wanted was death now. My father was gone and Freyr had probably perished as well.
"...kill me...KILL ME!" I screamed in rage, reaching up with my hands into what seemed like darkness.
I was blind.
"KILL ME! I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME! KILL ME! DAMN IT KILL ME! PLEASE!" I felt tears stream down my cheeks, if I could cry then why couldn't I see?
I screamed again in rage like a toddler having a temper tantrum. Ignoring the sound of jingling bells and hoof beats approaching. I brought my hands up over my face and screamed again, muffling the sound. Suddenly I felt a gentle hand clasp my arm. I jumped and gasped before jerking away from the hands.
"Easy, I am here to help you…" a gentle, male voice murmured softly. Help? Help! No, I didn't want that.
"NO!" I screamed and tried to crawl away but the hands touched my shoulders, trying to steady me. I swatted them away before scrambling to my feet, I staggered a bit but steadied myself.
"Shyra, it's me, Glorfindel, remember? We met five years ago." he said soothingly, I remembered then, the Elf that killed a balrog that one time and died then came back.
I panted and tilted my head toward him. Footsteps came closer to me and I staggered backward before I felt a gentle hand brush my wet hair out of my face. I reached up, finding his strong chest and tried to shove him away. He caught my wrists though and now I was struggling to get free. Glorfindel was known for his strength and in my head I knew I wasn't able to get free but I thrashed like a wild lynx caught in a net. I could feel his breath near my face and that took my thrashing to a whole other level. I screamed and cried as I twisted and pulled back, I tried kicking but it didn't help either. Glorfindel was holding onto me with a gentle but firm grip.
"Your eyes…" he said, that made it worse.
"NO!" I screamed and pulled back harder, he was struggling to keep me contained now without hurting me.
"Let me go! Let me die!" I shouted, his grip tightened slightly.
"Why do you want death?" he asked gently, I screamed again, and kicked his shin, he grunted but stayed as still as stone. I felt tears sting my blind eyes as I yanked, thrashed and pulled. I was going mad and I did something savagely. I bit his hand that clasped my right wrist.
"Ow!" he cried as I sank my teeth into his flesh, he let go of me then and as soon as he did I bolted away.
I ran in the dark, trying my best to keep my balance. I didn't know where I was going or what lies before me but I knew I wasn't going to stay there. An arm wrapped around my waist and kept me from going forward.
"NO! LET ME DIE!" I screamed, my blind eyes wide with desperation for death.
"You will die but death will not come for you this day." Glorfindel said into my ear before something hard hit my skull and I fell into unconsciousness.
