PART 2
Detective Andrews wasn't pleased when the constables brought Jack to the interrogation room. To him, the butcher seemed up to no good and not right in the head, as just the other day, he said he was alone at the time of the murder and now, he wanted to change what he had said.
''I´m really sorry for the inconvenience, detective, turns out I was busy elsewhere when Lily Potter was killed,'' Jack said.
''Alright, Mr. Walker what you have to say now?'' the detective asked tiredly.
''Look.. I know it seems strange a butcher trying to think high, but I really want to be a psychiatrist, so, a friend of mine, Dr. O… I mean, Mrs. Murdoch, is paying me half a day, to act as caregiver to her husband, while she goes to work. And I was with Mr. Murdoch when the murder occured.''
''Right…'' the detective smirked. ''And who was taking care of your store?'' he asked but before Jack could answer, a constable appeared, saying that a constable from Station House 4 was in his office with Mr. Murdoch, who in turn, was looking for Mr. Walker. ''Really?'' he raised an eyebrow. ''Alright, you come with me.'' He snapped and Jack follow him.

William and George were in Detective Andrews' office when the detective in question and Jack came in. Upon seeing his former colleague, Andrews smiled and reached a hand for William to shake, but he didn't do anything.
''Detective Murdoch, it's good to see you again,'' he said with a weird smile. ''So, Mr. Walker work for you?''
''Yes,'' William confirmed. ''What… doing… here?''
''Sorry Sir,'' Jack played along. ''They got me here, thinking I'm a suspect for Ms. Potter´s murder.''
''Yet, Mr. Murdoch, he says he was with you yesterday, around 10AM to 3PM, you confirm?''
''Yes.''
''As I said, I was helping Mr. Murdoch with his exercises, at the hotel,'' Jack said and in response, William shot him a hard look, as if he had said too much.
''Hotel?'' Det Andrews asked, confused, when George decided to interfere.
''Pardon, Sir, Mr. and Mrs. Murdoch live at Windsor House Hotel, he called me there this morning, saying Mr. Walker hadn't show up to work and when I told him the situation, he asked me to bring him here,'' George said quickly.
''Right, thank you, Constable. Mr. Murdoch, you confirm all of this?''
''Yes'' he said again, when the same constable appeared again, saying a witness wanted to reformulate her testimony.
''I didn't call for it, but bring the witness here, lets finish this,'' the detective said.
A minute later, entered an old lady, around 90 years old, with another old lady, presumably her daughter. Upon seeing the old ladies however, all the men present got confused.
''Miss Brown, you were the one who called the police?'' Det Andrews asked.
''Yes, I did,'' she said. ''Because my mother said she saw someone shooting a gun,'' she said and in response, the detective nodded.
''Mrs. Brown, it was this man, you saw shooting Miss Potter?'' he asked pointing to Jack.
''I don't know for sure…'' Old Mrs. Brown said and widened her eyes in horror. ''It was you!'' she exclaimed pointing to Det Andrews, who frowned.
''Mother, Detective Andrews didn't shoot anyone, he´s the detective taking care of the case.'' Miss Brown whispered on her ear.
''Oh, I'm so sorry detective…'' she laughed and pointed to George. ''It was you, then? Or it was you…'' her eyes fell on William, who was confused and annoying by that time.
''Ma´am, these two men, couldn't have done anything, the younger one is a constable and the older one, can´t walk, I'm sure they are innocent. Now, is Mr. Walker the one you saw shooting Miss Potter?''
''Richard?'' Mrs. Brown smiled at William. ''Richard, where have you been…''
''Mother please, this man isn't Father. Sorry detective for the inconvenience, my mother suffers from dementia and…''
''Richard, I missed you…''
''No trouble at all.'' Det Andrews growled impatiently and once both women left, he turned to Mr. Walker and Mr. Murdoch, with an embarrassing frown. ''Mr. Murdoch, I'm sorry for making you come over.'' He said ''It was everything a misunderstanding.''
''I know.'' William replied.
''Er… detective, may I free to go?'' Jack asked.
''Well, I think there´s no case against you then, you may go.'' Det Andrews nodded.
''Alright, Sir, lets go,'' George said, when Jack stepped in front and still playing his part, insisted on pushing his employer's chair away.

On the street, Det Watts munched a hot-dog, while waiting impatiently, for Murdoch and Crabtree return with Jack. When the three men appeared, Watts ran toward them, asking questions over questions, about how their plan had gone.
''Almost useless,'' George replied. ''Fortunately, for Mr. Walker, it was an old woman with dementia, she thought of seeing Jack... or someone resembling him, shooting Miss Potter. She even thought the detective was her late husband, right, Sir?'' George patted William´s shoulder.
''The important thing is, I'm a free man now, no charges against me,'' Jack smiled. ''Thank you all for the help.''
''I imagine what Mrs. Murdoch will say about it… but sure, the important thing, is that we managed to free you from jail,'' Watts agreed.
''Sir, I will escort you home, Mrs. Dallas will be furious with us,'' George warned William, who shook his head.
''No, want go sta-tion,'' William said. ''Visit.''
''Oh, well, you will be welcome, Sir and I don´t think Dr. Ogden will be upset with that,'' George said as they called a carriage to take them away.

The sound of chatting and laughing could almost be heard on the street when Julia arrived at Station House 4. She saw the Inspector, Detective Watts and all the Constables celebrating the visit of their beloved Detective Murdoch. While George was explaining to the Inspector and Higgins of their plan while Jack and Watts talk quietly about something else. Julia stayed silent until she moved closer announcing her presence. The men all turned and looked at her who gave a soft smile at them. "I just arrived at the hotel from work only to be told you left with Constable Crabtree and Detective Watts. Is everything alright?"
"J-lia," William smiled before trying to stand up instantly gathering the attention of his colleagues trying to help him before he fell.
"Murdoch," The Inspector snapped helping his friend to his feet. "Please be careful."
"I'm fine, really." William said looking at the Inspector before looking at the beautiful goddess that walked into the station. "Ju-lia." He smiled embracing his wife.
"You should join our celebration for your husband, Doctor." Watt said smiling before grinning at Jack Walker who was talking with Constable Crabtree. "He saved Mr. Walker from a date with the gallows."
"He did?" Julia asked and Detective Watt told her the plan they had done and Julia listened in with excitement. "Well, that is quite the tale. I'm glad my husband is once again a hero."
"We're all happy he is. Everything worked out according to plan." George Crabtree added making the others nod in agreement.
"Well, I think our hero should be heading back home. A hero does need his rest after all." Julia said smiling at her husband.
"Home then." William said smiling at his wife before shaking the hands of Jack Walker and Detective Watts.
"Thank you so much everyone," Jack Walker said smiling before looking at William. "Especially you, Detective Murdoch."
"All...in a days work." William said smiling and was rewarded with a soft pat on his shoulder and William and Julia left the Station House together.

That night, after Julia helped him with his nightly routine, William sat in his chair struggling to pull on his pajamas with one hand while Julia got herself in her own pajamas. After she had finished, she noticed her husband struggling and went to help him. "You know William," Julia smiled helping her husband button his pajama pants while helping him to the bed. "I am very proud of what you did today."
"You're proud?" He asked confused as Julia helped pull the blanket around her husband's body. "How?"
"Well, despite Mr. Walker and Detective Watts are peculiar people, you decided to help them."
"Mr. Walker was innocent." William replied. "I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't protect the innocent."
"True." Julia said sliding in beside her husband. "But if you hadn't helped Mr. Walker he would be killed, and Detective Watts would be heartbroken, nit to mention he could lose his job or worse."
"I would be heartbroken, if something were to happen to you." William said wrapping his arm around Julia and pulling her close to him. "I love you deeply."
"I love you too, my hero." Julia laughed kissing her husband sweetly. "Once again you saved the day."
William smiled and watched as his wife slowly fell asleep. His eyes sparkled with admiration of how lucky he was having such an amazing woman for his wife. Before he fell asleep, he leaned down and brushed his lips against her forehead and closed his eyes falling into sleep dreaming of another adventure he dreamed to have again.
