No second chance

Louisse asked for a oneshot of Emma seeing Pinocchio and Geppetto having fun together in the ice cream shop and getting jealous because he got to reset his childhood. Snow and Charming comfort her, spoiling her more and giving her extra attention.

"Chocolate please, papa!" Pinocchio called up, tapping the protective glass around the tubs of ice cream. Geppetto chuckled, placing his hands lovingly on Pinocchio's shoulders.

"Chocolate it is, my boy." Geppetto responded, ordering a cone for his little boy. Emma watched forlornly at the interaction between father and son. August alone had been the only one who knew her situation. He too had grown up without his family because of the curse. Now here he was. Getting his second chance.

Snow and Charming watched Emma, and knew what she was thinking. Charming squeezed Snow's hand. It was understandable Emma sad watching Pinocchio. She had missed out on so much. Maybe it was time for a little extra TLC.

Emma may be slightly confused, but she couldn't deny it was nice. Over the last few days, it seemed her parents were both determined to…well, Emma wasn't sure exactly what their end goal was. All she knew was they seemed to be paying a heck of a lot of extra attention to her. Her dad was insistent that he buy her lunch every day at the station, from wherever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Her mom was asking her about her feelings a lot more. She was trying to do it subtly, failing, but at least trying. She seemed determined to make sure Emma knew that she was very loved. That both she and Charming would always be there for her. Emma didn't understand exactly what their motivation was, but she wasn't going to question it. It was nice knowing she had people who care for her now.
