So here's the deal...I received a rather infuriating review*Cough*FLAME*Cough*, wrote a note saying how those that are impatient should learn to be so, threatened to remove the story should I get another such remark, and never posted it.
Yugi: So why is that?
I got so busy that I never had the time. So, anyways, I am still sticking to my stories but with everything that is going on in my hectic schedule updates may be slow. Please bear with me as I have little time for myself.
Bakura: The way I see it, you should take the stories with such rude remarks about your being lazy with updates down to punish them.
NO! I don't think that it's right to punish loyal readers for a single person's actions.
Yami: Enjoy chapter 16 of 'Please Accept Me'.
Atem and Yami met in the library and pulled up the computer screen. "So are we searching for instructions on how to build the projector or what is needed for a holo-projector to work," Atem asked Yami.
Yami shrugged, "Why not both?"
The two brothers pulled up the searches and began their project, unaware of Yugi's sleepwalking.
Yugi had had a rough night and wound up staying awake until three in the morning. He had forgotten to ask his father for his medicine and when he finally remembered, it was past midnight. Now the boy was paying for his restless night. He was sleepwalking through the mansion, oblivious to the staff as he passed them.
Yugi passed the library and headed to the back door of the mansion. As the boy headed to the large lake, Marshall caught sight of him and rushed to the library, "Master Atem, Master Yami! Your brother's headed to the boating lake!"
Atem and Yami paled and ran from the room to try to stop Yugi from getting hurt. They caught up with their little brother as he began wading into the lake. His eyes were open, but unseeing. Together they pulled him back to shore and tried to wake him. "Yugi," Atem called as he patted the sleepwalking child's cheek, "wake up!"
"Mama," Yugi groaned, still not awake. "Want mama."
Yami was worried now, "We've got to get him to snap out of this!"
He pulled an object from his pocket and pressed it to Yugi's left forearm. The response was immediate. Yugi's eyes shut tightly as he began weeping from pain. Atem glared at his brother, "What did you do to him?!"
"I used the shock-pen that Bakura made for me for when I decided to stay up late studying for tests. It's meant to keep me from dozing off while actually taking the tests," Yami replied.
Yugi cried as Atem carried him back to the mansion and to his room. He paged Mana, "Yugi needs a change of clothes brought to my room."
"I'll be right there," the android replied. True to her word, Mana was at Atem's room minutes later with dry clothes for Yugi. She saw the state his pajamas were in, "What happened? Is he alright?"
"He was sleepwalking," Atem informed her as he removed the soaked clothing from his brother. "He was heading into the lake when we caught up to him."
Yugi sniffled as Atem began to dress him in the dry clothes. "Want Papa."
"Dad's at work, Yugi," Atem stated. "He'll be back around dinner time."
Saddened amethyst eyes looked at him, "I forgot to take my medicine last night and couldn't sleep. I was sleepwalking again, wasn't I?"
"Again," Atem was confused.
"I've done it before," Yugi sighed. "Grandpa caught me before I wound up in the street. He said I hadn't slept very well the night before. After a few other 'episodes', I was put on a medicine to help me sleep when I had a hard time. I forgot to take it last night."
"If I found it, could you take half," Atem asked.
Yugi nodded, "The doctor gave me some that were smaller than the stuff I'm supposed to take at bedtime when I can't sleep. She said that's for the days I forgot to take it at night."
Atem had Mana retrieve the medication for Yugi. He watched as Yugi pulled out a pale blue tablet and took it. The boy got up from Atem's bed, "I'm going to try to get to my room."
He didn't make it as far as the East Wing's entrance before he began to feel drowsy. "Mana…Sleepy," Yugi mumbled as he passed out. Atem barely caught his brother before he hit the ground.
Atem sighed as he lifted the small seven-year-old into his arms, "I'm going to take him to the den where I can keep an eye on him."
Yami was already in the den when Atem came in carrying a sleeping Yugi. "Is he alright," Yami asked as Atem placed the boy on the large couch.
Atem nodded as he stood up, "He's just sleeping. Turns out that he forgot to take some medication last night to help him sleep. He had some that's meant for days that he forgot to take it the night before. That stuff works quickly. Yugi took it when he was in my room and passed out just before he got to the East Wing."
"That's not too far from your room," Yami pointed out.
Atem sighed, "I know. Apparently, his medication is strong and works quickly. I just wanted to keep an eye on him until he wakes up."
The two worked on their project in silence, glancing at their slumbering brother. Yugi slept for five hours, hardly moving in his deep sleep. Yami and Atem had dozed off, both of them leaning against the couch. Aknamkanon found the three of them sleeping in the den, his two oldest had parts and pages between them and Yugi was sound asleep on the couch. Marshall had informed him that the teens had prevented Yugi from sleepwalking into the large lake and Atem refused to allow him out of sight.
Yugi stretched as he finally woke up from his long 'nap' and opened his eyes. He saw Aknamkanon standing over him with a light blanket, "hi, Papa. Missed you."
"Hey, baby boy," he smiled at Yugi. "Are you hungry?"
Yugi nodded as he was picked up. "Really hungry, Papa. They looked after me all day…I think."
Atem woke up as the two reached the doorway and noticed Yugi was missing. He panicked and pushed Yami over, instantly rousing him from his nap. "What in Ra's name did you do that for," Yami demanded.
"Yugi's gone! He's not on the couch," Atem snapped. "We've got to…" He heard their father chuckle. "Hey Dad. I see you found him," Atem stated sheepishly.
Aknamkanon ruffled Yugi's spiked hair gently, "I didn't need to look further than the couch where he was sleeping. So how has your day been boys?"
Atem and Yami told him of the excitement caused by Yugi's episode, how the boy slept the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon. Aknamkanon was relieved that the two were making an effort to care about their baby brother. They headed to the dining room for a light meal to tide them over for dinner.
Yugi: YEA! My brothers are finally being nice to me!
Yup.
Yami: So what are you going to try to update next?
I'm not sure yet, probably 'Hunted' as it has more reviews and 'Broken' needs its next chapter read over before I post it.
Ryou: Until next time!
