Leaving

A guest asked for a oneshot of Rosie going off to college and Snowing and Emma dealing with it.

They couldn't believe how far away she was. Rosie had only been gone a couple of days, but it felt like months. Emma had obviously decided to make a life in Storybrooke. Henry saw it as his duty as the Author to continue recording stories, which he could only do in Storybrooke, as it still had magic. Neal had followed in his father and big sister's footsteps and joined the Storybrooke Police Force, keeping it in the family. Rosie, however, didn't see herself staying in the little town forever. So she decided to move away for college. It had been hard for the family to accept, but they of course supported her decision. Emma even helped her apply for different colleges. But when the day came for Rosie to move away to Kansas City (Missouri, not Kansas) to start her degree at Missouri State University, they all went to pieces. Snow, Charming and Emma kept it together though, for Rosie's sake. They knew she needed them to be brave for her. This was going to be hard for her, moving across the country alone. But she could do it. They all had faith in her. It was themselves they were worried about. How were they going to cope without seeing Rosie every day? Her smile was infectious. She always had a kind word for everybody. Now they only heard her kind words on phone calls every few days, and they all knew those phone calls would get farther and farther apart as she made friends, joined societies and her coursework started piling up. But they would all deal with it. At the end of the day, Rosie was making a life for herself, and they were proud of her.
