Time in the meadow

Just one of my own.

Snow watched with curiosity as her little two-year-old stopped chasing the butterfly she had been so intently following and bent down in the middle of the meadow. Emma plucked a flower from the ground and toddled back over to her mother, holding it up to her.

"For you, mama!" The little girl announced. Snow's heart melted at how adorable she was. She crouched down so she was eye-level with her tiny daughter and took the flower from her hand, tucking it behind her ear.

"Thank you, my sweet." She said gently. Emma extended her arms, a cute little grin on her face. Snow smiled, knowing what her little girl wanted. She picked Emma up and pressed their foreheads together, twirling her around. Snow delighted in the sound of her giggles ringing out. Snow stopped spinning, and just looked into her daughter's eyes; so full of life.

"Oh my Emma. If only you could stay this little forever, huh?" Snow sighed. Emma leaned back, shaking her head.

"Nuh-uh! Emma be big girl!" Emma proclaimed. Snow smiled, kissing Emma's forehead.

"Maybe. But Emma will always be mama's baby." Snow told her. Emma nodded.

"Mama's baby." She repeated, resting her head in the crook of Snow's neck. Snow could swear her heart was a puddle now. Snow cherished the days like this, she truly wished they could last forever.

"Come on you." She said quietly. "Your daddy will be wondering where we are." Emma didn't protest as her mother led her back to the castle. She looked forward to seeing her daddy again. As did Snow. She cherished time with her husband as much as with her daughter, even more so when the three of them were together. That's when everything was perfect.
