A/N: I don't own any Puppet Master characters, they belong to Full Moon Features and Charles Band. I do however own Archer, Elizabeth and Wildcard, Lucy and Mystic and as normal when the puppets speak it will be in italics.
Also thank you Cryptic for letting me use Jinkx and Irya in this story.
A few days later Elizabeth was able to return to the house.
She felt relieved to be going back.
Though she'd feel better once Jinkx was fully recovered.
The house was surprisingly quiet when Irya let her in.
"Must all be resting." She said before looking to see if her notes had been brought over.
"Great-great-grandfather, I'm back." She called.
She smiled seeing Toulon's spirit appear.
He smiled back.
"You've been missed my dear. I'm sorry the others aren't here to see your return but they have to rest." He apologized.
"I understand, you're actually the one I need to talk to along with either Irya or Jinkx when she fully recovers." Elizabeth said.
Toulon chuckled.
"You've got that same glint in your eyes your grandfather did when he had an idea."
Irya walked past Elizabeth.
"It's going to be me you be talking with, I am in temporary charge of the Puppets"
She sits down and folds her arms.
"My sister is going over to California for her recovery, she wants to be somewhere warm."
Elizabeth looked up surprised.
"Better not tell them that." She said referring to the Puppets.
"We haven't. I know they would be desperate to return to the Bodaga Bay Inn if they knew." Toulon said.
Elizabeth nodded.
"Good.. anyway I think I've figured out a way of finding out exactly what my grandfather wrote about the elixir...but it's a risk." She said being honest.
"From what I've seen written, it's possible for Decapitron to make contact with other spirits. If the platform can be repaired we can use the remaining elixir to activate him and see if he can communicate with my grandfather so he can tell us." She explained.
Toulon's spirit nodded.
"Hmmm that is certainly a risk."
Elizabeth nodded.
"I know, but it's all I can think of and let's face it we are getting desperate not to end up using brain matter."
Irya leaned back in her chair.
"At some point I will tell them why Jinkx has not returned, I am good at explaining things." pausing before leaning forward again.
"I need get them to understand she was badly injured, immortal she may be, but it still takes her time to heal from any injuries."
Elizabeth nodded.
"Seems common sense to me...so do I have your permission to go through with my plan?"
"Maybe you should rest Elizabeth. I understand your concern but you're no use to anyone if you hurt yourself doing this. My friends have been inactive for much longer periods and it won't harm them to wait." Toulon said.
In all truthfulness he was more concerned for her.
Elizabeth shook her head.
"No I need to keep busy. If we could hook the platform to a generator we should get the perfect boost."
The two could tell something was bothering Elizabeth and she was trying to ignore it.
Iyra stood up and walked over to Liz.
"As your Doctor, I am telling you to rest, there is not a lot we can do until my sister returns, it might be the fact that she has both Archer and Jester was with her right now, I only found out he somehow sneaked into my bag when I visited her the other day and then got out my bag and hid in her bag." she sighed.
Toulon let out a sigh as well.
"Blade will be woken up last. He's the most protective over those two from what I've seen. I dread to think how he'd react knowing neither are here."
Elizabeth frowned.
"I can't handle being on anymore bed rest. I have to do something." She protested.
"Elizabeth..I can tell something's upset you and it's not to do with what's happening right now... something happened in hospital didn't it?" Toulon asked wishing he could physically give her comfort.
Elizabeth blinked back tears.
"I'm fine.. really. Fine as fine can be." Elizabeth said though her voice was starting to crack.
In all truthfulness she didn't want to admit what she had been told.
Because of how deep the cut was she had to have surgery.
That surgery meant she was now unable to have children.
In her eyes, unable to keep the bloodline and legacy going.
Iyra turned on the spot and looked at Toulon
"Wie kann ich das auf eine ... einfache Art und Weise sagen?" ("How can I put this in a ... simple way?") She took a deep breath and clasping her hands together.
"Die Verletzungen, die sie erlitten hatte, waren fast lebensbedrohlich, aber mit meiner Hilfe haben wir gerettet, aber auf Kosten von ihr, dass sie niemals Kinder bekommen konnte." ("The injuries she suffered were almost life-threatening, but with my help we saved, but at her expense that she could never have children.")
He nodded being careful not to show a reaction to Elizabeth.
He knew she hated others feeling sorry for her and this was the last thing she'd need.
It took a while for both of them to convince Elizabeth to finally rest.
Once she had gone to a room to rest Toulon's spirit disappeared to rest himself.
Elizabeth let out a sigh working on her drawings.
"Maybe one day I could make you two a reality." She said looking at the puppet designs.
Iyra sat down on a chair next to Liz's bed.
"Liz, this isn't my business, but what is your sexual orientation."
"Straight but that hardly matters anymore." Elizabeth said dejectedly.
She stood up and hugged Elizabeth.
"We live in a different world then your Grandfather and Great-Great Grandfather."
Elizabeth hugged back and sighed heavily.
"I know but it hurts." She said wiping her eyes.
"It's not impossible to still have kids, just more difficult, I am sure my sister would help finance your aim for kids."
Elizabeth nodded.
"She's already done so much for me. I don't know if I could ask for help with something like that."
"If she wouldn't help I would, I am a mother myself to Nine Kids." Irya said.
Elizabeth paused not sure what to say to that.
She was soon back in bed resting.
She had a long way to go before she was one hundred percent recovered.
