Day One
Thomas walks into his house after leaving the hospital. He's eyes were red from crying, still remembering holding his mother's hand while she passed away. Thomas's phone buzzed as he took it out and looked at it. It was a text from Uncle Prince.
Prince
Hey kid I'll be at the funeral tomorrow with Grandpa and Grandma.

Thomas
Okay I'll be waiting for their call.
Thømas then puts his phone away and sighs suddenly there was a knock at the door. Thomas turned around and opened it. "Yes?" Thomas asked. There was a dog in a suit holding some paper. "Are you Thomas Heeler son of Bandit and Emily Heeler?" The dog asked. "Yeah that's me," Thomas answered. "My names Simon Bruno and your mother gave me instructions I give to you about her art gallery," Simon said as he handed Thomas the papers. "What's this about?" Thomas asked. "At the age eighteen you will be gifted full legal rights over her art gallery named "sanctuary art gallery" and will be released funds for collage," Simon explained. "Oh okay," Thomas said reading over the papers. "Is your father here with you?" Simon asked Thomas then looked up at Simon and shook his head. "My dads in Brisbane Australia I won't see him until Friday" Thomas answered.
"Your home alone? Is there a Guardian present with now?" Simon asked. Thomas shook his head. "Is there someone I can call for you?" Simon asked. "Yeah, how about god and ask for his angel back. I'm sorry Simon but I would like some time to grieve for myself," Thomas said as he shuts the door. Thomas places his head on the door as fresh tears started to come down from his muzzle. Thomas then looks at the papers and reads them again. "At least you left me the one place that you loved," Thomas said as he sat against the door.
Thomas's phone then rang as Thomas picks it up. "Hello?" Thomas said with a sniff. "Thomas? How are you doing sweetheart?" Grandma Willow asked. "I'm okay," Thomas replied. "Oh honey, I can hear it your voice your not okay," Willow said with also pain in her voice. "I just wish you didn't have to spend a night alone in that big house," Willow said still with pain her voice. "Grandma I'll be okay I promise," Thomas said trying to stay strong. "Okay, sweetheart I just wanted to call and see if your alright for the night," Willow said. Thomas chuckled, "I promise Grandma I got plenty of food and water, mom always made sure of that," Thomas said forcing himself a smile. "Okay sweetheart I'll see you in the morning," Willow said feeling better that her grandson was handling himself. "Okay Grandma try to get some rest," Thomas said with a deep breath. Willow then said her goodbyes and hung up the phone.
Thomas once again before calling his best friend. "Hey Hannah, I need you tonight, yeah she passed away a few hours ago, is Joey with you? Yeah bring that too I could use that too, alright see you soon," Thomas said as he hung up the phone. Thomas then got up from the floor and placed the papers on the coffee table. Thomas then walked into the kitchen and grabbed his Moms keys and then went to his bedroom and grabbed his skateboard and then walked outside and waiting for his friends. It wasn't along until Hannah pulled up in her car with her twin brother Joey. "Hey dude!" Joey said from the front seat of his sisters car. Thomas grabbed his skateboard from the ground and headed to his friends car. "Hey bro I'm so sorry to hear about your mom," Hannah said as she turned and looked at her friend. "Yeah man I'm sorry," Joey said also. "You guys got your boards?" Thomas asked. "Sure do," Hannah answered.
"And the bottle?" Thomas asked. "Right here," Joey said showing Thomas the bottle of alcohol. "Alright let's go to my moms art gallery," Thømas said as he buckled himself in. "To the sanctuary it is!" Joey joked trying to lighten the mood. Thomas chuckled as Hannah started the car and headed for the art gallery. Once reaching the art gallery. The three friends got out of the car and headed inside. Thomas used his moms keys and turned off the alarm. "What are we doing here?" Hannah asked. Thomas made sure all the windows were closed and covered so no one could see them. "This is why we're here," Thomas said as he turned off all the lights and turned on his light up skateboard Which was blue. "Now turn on yours," Thomas asked looking at his friends. Hannah and Joey both turned on their skateboards with Hannah having pick and Joey having green. With all their lights on their skateboard were on it turned the art gallery until a light show. "Wow," Hannah said looking around the gallery. "Yeah this is… this is so cool," Joey said as he also looked around.
"How did you know this was here Thomas?" Hannah asked. "Well one night my mom took here after hours and let me skate with my skateboard with it's light on and we turned it into a light art show," Thomas explained. "She loved all forms of art and this was our form of a light art show," Thomas added. "This is so cool," Joey said as he started to skate on his board. The three friends started skating around the large art gallery going from room to room. For the time being Thomas felt as if nothing has happened to him. He could feel his moms presents as he skated around her art gallery like he use to when she was alive.
Hannah and Thomas laid in the middle of the art gallery looking up in the skylight window while drinking their bottle of alcohol while Joey was still skating around with his green light skateboard. "So your leaving Friday?" Hannah asked taking a drink from the bottle. "Yep, going across the world to see a father I hate and a family I barely know," Thomas said taking another drink from the bottle. "That's sucks," Hannah said staring up at the skylight window. "Tell me about it, I mean my dads got his own family he doesn't need me," Thomas said still looking up. "Maybe he does though," Hannah said taking a drink. "Why do you say that?" Thomas asked looking to his right to look at Hannah. "I mean look at it this way you and your mom were his family before the divorce right?" Hannah asked looking to Thomas. "Yeah so," Thomas said.
"So don't you think he's hurting just as much as you?" Hannah asked. "Your still his son his first born and Emily was his first wife, Don't you think he cares about what happens to you or her?" Hannah added. "Yeah, I guess your right," Thomas said looking back up at the skylight window. "I know it's going to suck having you leave but just remember you still have your dad with you," Hannah said looking to her friend. "Yeah, your right," Thomas said softly. "So what are you going to do with the gallery?" Joey asked as he skated over to his friend and sister. "Well I get to have it when I'm eighteen and I get college funds as well," Thomas explained. "That would be nice," Joey said looking at his friend and sister. "Lets make an oath after Thomas turns eighteen we come back here and celebrate," Hannah said placing her hand in the middle between her brother and Thomas. "I'm in," Joey said placing his on top of his sisters. Thomas smiled as he placed his hand on top of his friends. "Deal," Thomas replied.
The night ended with Thomas locking up the gallery one last time and with his friends driving him home. "Are sure you don't want us to stay with you tonight?" Hannah asked her friend. Thomas smiled and shook his head. "No I'll be fine," Thomas replied. "Then take this you'll need it more than us," Joey said as he handed Thomas the bottle of alcohol. "Alright guys have a goodnight," Thomas said as he took his bottle and skateboard back to his house. Thomas went inside his house and started drinking from the bottle. Thomas then went upstairs and went into his moms room and laid down her bed. Thomas finished the bottle and closed his eyes and went to sleep.
