Face My Fears

Day three

Thomas woke to his phone going off. Thomas sighed as he looked at his phone. It was a text message from his dad also known on his phone as just "Bandit" the text read as "I'll see you soon mate! Love you!" Thomas then got out of his bed and grabbed his bags and headed downstairs. "How did you sleep sweetheart?" Willow asked as she took out freshly baked muffins from the oven. "I slept good," Thomas said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Here honey have some breakfast," Willow said with a smile as she gave her grandson some muffins. Thomas was also thinking about the text he received from his dad this morning. "I guess I should change the name back to dad," Thomas thought to himself. Thomas then pulled out his phone and change the name from Bandit to dad.

Thømas then thought about replying back to his dad but not with an "I love you" back. "Alright see you soon," Thomas replied back and puts his phone away. Thomas waits for his Muffins to cool off and then eats them with some butter. It wasn't long until Thomas and the family he knew the most left his house that he knew for years. Now at the airport Thomas's grandparents hugged him tightly and then said their goodbyes. Thomas sighed as he walked to his gate and sat in the waiting area until his plane was ready.

Thømas sighed as he played on his phone and listened to music. Thømas looked forward and saw a orange dog with glasses playing a guitar. Thomas thought he recognized him from somewhere but couldn't pinpoint where. The dog then looked forward and caught Thomas staring at him. Thomas then quickly looked down at his phone and continued to play on it until the dog came over and sat next to him. The orange dog smiled at him while pushing his glasses up. Thomas then took out his ear buds and looked at the dog. "Do I know you from somewhere?" Thømas asked, looking at the dog. "I'm Busker put it there mate," Busker said with a smile. "I do Recognize you! You sing and play Instruments and stuff," Thomas said looking at Busker. "Yeah, I'm that guy," Busker said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well I've seen you all over YouTube and a concert too," Thomas said with a smile.

"You went to one of my concerts? Thanks mate!" Busker said with a smile. "Yeah it was for my 14th birthday present you were awesome," Thomas said looking at Busker. "Are you heading to Brisbane mate?" Busker asked as he puts his guitar away. "Yeah, to live with my dad," Thomas said looking down. "What's the matter mate? Don't you want to live there?" Busker asked. "Yeah, kinda, no not really… my whole life's here and then my mom passed just two days ago and here I am," Thomas explained. "That's rough mate I'm sorry to hear that," Busker said rubbing the back of his neck again. "My mom passed away when I was younger too," Busker added. "I'm sorry to hear that Busker," Thomas said looking to Busker. "How do you deal with it?" Thomas asked still looking to Busker. "With music mate," Busker said pulling out his guitar again and starting to play something. "Music is the greatest healing tool," Busker said as he continued to play his guitar.

Thomas smiled while hearing Busker play. "I play also," Thomas said, still watching Busker play. "You do? Then how about it mate," Busker said handed Thomas his guitar. "Oh no I couldn't Busker it's yours," Thomas said insisting not to play. "Come on mate you would hurt my feelings if you didn't play," Busker said putting his guitar in Thomas's hands. "Alright I wrote this just the other day," Thomas said as he started to play his song he wrote called "Long Way Home" Busker sits back in his seat and listens to chords Thomas was playing. "Music to my ears mate! I wish I wrote something like this," Busker said as Thomas played his song. After Thomas was done playing his song and gave back Busker his guitar back Thomas took a deep breath and looked at Busker. "That was… nice," Thomas said with a smile.

"See mate, that's what music can do it heals you," Busker said as he played some more on his guitar. "Yeah, you were right," Thomas said sitting back in his seat. "When you get settle in Brisbane, come by my studio and we can jam or make a song or something," Busker said, handing Thomas his card with his number and address. "By the way mate I never got your name?" Busker said as he continued to play. "It's Thomas and thank you I'll be sure to contact you," Thomas said putting the card in his carry on bag. "Non stop flight to Brisbane now boarding," the operator said. "That's us," Thomas said as he and Busker stood up. "Are you first class?" Thomas asked. "Nah mate I'm in coach," Busker said grabbing his guitar and carry on bag. "Then take my ticket," Thomas said, handing Busker the ticket. "Mate I can't take this," Busker said shocked that Thomas offered him First Class.

"Busker, you deserve the rockstar life for once and my uncles too rich for his own good to just give me coach seats," Thomas said putting the ticket in Buskers hand. "Thomas, mate I don't know what to say," Busker said wagging his tail. "Just go be the rockstar your supposed to be," Thomas said taking Buskers coach ticket. "Thanks mate," Busker said still wagging his tail. Thomas and Busker both both boarded the plane with Thomas going to coach and buster going to first class. Thomas sat his seat and turned his phone on airplane mode. "Here we go," Thomas said as he puts in his ear buds and listens to music.

18 hours later…

Thomas takes a flight to Brisbane, Australia. As the plane lands Thomas gets off and tries to find his dad. Thomas sees his father with a sign that says Thomas. Thomas then walks over to his dad with his bags. "Hey Kiddo!" Bandit said as he kids his son. "Jeez dad," Thomas said trying to breathe. "Sorry kid," Bandit said releasing his son. "You've gotten taller," Bandit said with a chuckle. "Well you haven't seen me since seven so," Thomas said. "Right well... your mother sent me pictures and I've tried to call you," Bandit said. Thomas looks away from him father. "Yeah," Thomas said as he grabbed his bags again. "I can take those," Bandit said handing out his paws. "Okay here," Thomas said handing his bags to Bandit.
