Constant bickering
Guest Jackie asked for a oneshot of Emma and Neal annoying each other and Snow having to tell them off for it.
"Mom!" Both Emma and Neal yelled. I sighed, then counted to ten with my eyes closed. Give me strength. True, I didn't plan on having a thirty-year age gap between my children, but I thought that one slight bright side of our situation might be that sibling arguments might be alleviated. Apparently not. I knew that Emma and Neal loved each other dearly, but they didn't half have funny ways of showing it sometimes. Some days it felt like they were constantly bickering. Today felt like one of those days. Trying to keep my cool, I made my way down the stairs to see what the problem was this time. As soon as they saw me, they each pointed an accusing finger at the other.
"She made me drop the last Pop Tart on the floor! The s'more ones are my favourite!"
"He didn't listen when I told him to keep his sticky fingers off my top when I'm in my work clothes. I gently pushed him away and he stumbled, dropping the stupid thing." Emma grumbled. I couldn't believe this. All-out war had really broken out over a breakfast pastry?
"Let's get one thing clear to begin with. Drop this he and she nonsense. You both have names. Now, I am not spending my day keeping you two apart because you can't be civil towards each other. You are siblings, for crying out loud! If you can't be nice to each other today, then stay out of each other's way. You have your own room, Neal. Emma, you have your own home. I appreciate that you want to spend the day with us, in which case, you can go into your father and I's room if you need some space from Neal. I need to finish getting ready for the day. If I have to come down for a third time to sort you two out I will not be happy. Understood?"
"Yes." Both Emma and Neal responded, not daring to give me cheek. I nodded briskly, going back up the stairs. I didn't so much as hear a peep out of either of them. Finally.
