Vindictive punishment
Chlollie asked for a oneshot of *6x07 spoilers!* Emma being able to break her parents' latest sleeping curse. The EQ is mad about it and wants to hurt Emma because of it.
"Are you sure this is going to work?" Emma asked Henry, clearly unsure herself. "I mean, what if it doesn't? What if I make things worse?" Before Snow could give Emma hope herself as the currently awake parent, Henry stepped forward, taking his mom's hand.
"You won't make things worse, and this will work." He promised her. "This family seem to be experts in sleeping curses, and I'm the Author. I should know who everyone's true loves are." Henry reminded her. "You are the product of their true love. They are your parents. If anybody know the power of the love between a parent and their child it should be you, mom. Do you not remember how the original curse was broken?" Emma smiled at her son. He always had such a way with words. It was really no surprise that he was chosen to be the next Author. Emma looked over to her mom who smiled encouragingly. Like Henry, Snow had every faith that Emma could do this.
"Ok." She said quietly. "I'll try." Shaking slightly, Emma walked up to her mom first. Snow smiled as Emma pressed her lips against her mom's cheek. Emma could feel her stomach doing somersaults as she then walked up the bed and also pressed a small kiss to her dad's cheek. A bright light filled the room. Her dad sat up, gasping.
"You did it!" Snow cheered. Emma was dumbfounded as she looked back to Henry, who grinned at her.
"Told ya." He said, ever so slightly smugly. Emma just smiled back. She turned around again to find her parents lost in their own…reunion.
"Do you need me to take the boys out?" She asked. "Nobody wants tacos for dinner." Snow and Charming broke apart laughing before pulling their daughter into a hug.
"You saved us."
"Again." Charming added, kissing the side of Emma's head. None of them would have known how short-lived their sweet reunion would be.
Suddenly, Emma found herself vanishing from her parents' embrace and pinned by her throat to the wall…by the Evil Queen. Snow, Charming and Henry all moved to help her, but found themselves frozen to the spot. Emma couldn't help but smirk at how angry the Evil Queen looked.
"Oh come on. You must have known we'd work this out eventually." Emma said, her voice slightly distorted by the Evil Queen's hold. Snow and Charming prayed Emma would not torment her any more. It was not worth the risk. They knew how vindictive she could be. The Evil Queen snarled at Emma.
"You may have won this time, but there will be another. I will break your mother's heart one way or another." She spat. She raised her hand up, Emma just scoffed.
"Your mommy tried that once before. You can't touch my heart. Love is stronger than hate." Emma said triumphantly. Her confidence wavered slightly when, for the first time that day, she saw the Evil Queen smile.
"Who says I was going to go for your heart?" She asked. Emma didn't respond. Snow, Charming and Henry didn't dare make a sound in fear of angering her whilst Emma's life was so clearly in the balance. Instead, the Evil Queen reached behind Emma's back. "You might think you're so brave, little princess, but one day that bravery of yours is going to get you into a lot of trouble." The Evil Queen's hand slipped inside Emma's skin and clutched tightly at her spine. Emma screamed out in sheer agony. It felt like someone had split her spine in two where the Evil Queen was clutching it.
"Stop it!" Snow demanded. "You're hurting her.
"That's the point." The Evil Queen quipped back. "She'll learn from this what happens when you mess with my plans."
"Leave her alone!" Charming barked. "If you want to hurt someone, hurt me!" The Evil Queen turned her head, but did not stop her torture of Emma.
"I will hurt you in the end, shepherd. But right now it is your precious daughter that will suffer." Emma didn't even know what was being said. She pain was too blinding, too deafening for her to focus on anything else.
"Don't do this." Henry pleaded with her. "You're better than this. I've seen you become more than the Evil Queen." The Evil Queen just laughed.
"You saw Regina become weak. That is all you saw. Clearly, you chose to follow her example. Well, not anymore. Watch and learn, Henry dear. This is how you get respect." The Evil Queen squeezed at Emma's spine. Emma couldn't take much more. She was about to pass out. Just when she thought she was about to give in, she felt the Evil Queen's hand vanish, and she crashed onto the floor.
Snow, Charming and Henry all rushed forward.
"Emma?" Snow asked. She was unresponsive. "Do we take her to the hospital?" Charming shook his head. He desperately wanted to hold her, to let her know the Evil Queen would never hurt her like that again, but he knew better than to move a patient with a possible back injury.
"She's not moving. Call Blue. We need to check if any magical damage has been done. Call Doc as well. He can come straight to the house and we can find out if we need to call the hospital from him." Snow nodded, shakily pulling out her cell phone and dialling the nunnery's number. Henry was just looking down at his mom, his face ashen. Charming could see how badly the boy was taking all this. "Henry, why don't you get in contact with your other mom? She might have a better idea of what her evil half has done here." Henry nodded, going off to contact Regina. Charming knew he had to get away, but wouldn't unless he felt he was being helpful. Charming looked down at Emma, his heard thudding in his chest. Whatever the Evil Queen had done, he knew it wasn't good. He had to stay focused though. Emma needed him to be calm right now. "It's going to be ok, princess." He promised her, stroking her cheek. The truth was, Charming didn't know if it would be ok or not, but he had to believe she would be.
