Facial expressions
FanOfMost asked for a oneshot of Emma and Snow being on opposite sides of the couch reading the same book. Charming laughs because he can tell who is ahead because they make the same faces.
Every time he sniggered, Snow and Charming would look up. Every time, Charming would deny he had made a sound, or, pretend he was laughing at something on the TV. Which unless he found Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse comedic genius, was highly unlikely. Eventually, both Emma and Snow became completely fed up with it.
"Right." Snow said, putting her bookmark at the new page and slamming the book shut. "What's so funny?"
"I keep telling you, nothing." Charming lied.
"I don't even need my superpower to know that's a lie." Emma grumbled. He kept interrupting her just as things were getting interesting! "So spit it out. Otherwise I'm going to end up throwing a pillow at your head, and I am a damn good shot." She reminded her father. Charming laughed once more.
"It's nothing big, really." He told them both. "It's just, you're both reading the same book for that little book club you've set up, right?" He asked. They both nodded. "Well it shows. You might have my smile, Emma, but because you have your mom's chin, and her eyes, a lot of your facial expressions are dead ringers. I can tell when you've reached different points. You both make the same expression." He explained. Snow and Emma looked at each other, surprised. They had never noticed that before. "Look! You're even doing it right now!" He pointed out. Emma couldn't help but feel her face heat up at the spotlight on her. Snow laughed, kissing the side of Emma's head.
"Oh it's no big deal. I'm just surprised it took us this long to notice. I did point out you had my chin. Surprised I never noticed the eyes. Especially when I was reading the Harry Potter series for school." Emma rolled her eyes.
"I'm neither Harry nor Albus Severus." She grumbled.
"Orphaned child, looks like their handsome daddy but with their mama's eyes…I don't know…" Charming teased her. Emma sighed, and got up with her book.
"I think I'll read in my room from now on." She mumbled, shuffling off. Snow and Charming had to stifle their sniggers. She wasn't half easy to wind up sometimes.
