Mommy and daddy's story

TEDDY'S MOM asked for a oneshot of Charming getting through the wardrobe with Emma and raising her and Pinocchio.

I've been meaning to write this for a while by myself, as it happens. This is based on a couple of pictures I found on Twitter/Tumblr :).

It had been hard for Charming these last six years. Being without Snow was never going to be easy, but being without her knowing there was a chance she could be here. A chance she could see their beautiful, amazing baby girl grow up, was nearly impossible some days. But how could he blame Geppetto for giving his son a chance at life? He would, and did, do the same for Emma. So even though it was hard, Charming had of course taken the little boy in along with his daughter, raising him as his own. He was now a teenager, and more than ready to find his father again. He was being as patient as Charming could ask for. He knew they were close, but he couldn't give an exact time on when they'd find their loved ones…or what they'd state they'd be in after six years under the Evil Queen's curse.

Charming was doing his best to make sure Emma understood where she came from, and why her mommy wasn't here. With Pinocchio's (or August, as he was now known) help, he made a book for his baby girl with everyone from the Enchanted Forest's story. Emma's favourite, was mommy and daddy's story. So it was no surprise to Charming when that night, Emma once again asked for it as her bedtime story.

"Please daddy?" Emma asked, batting her big eyelashes up at him. "The Snow White story?" Charming smiled. He loved how interested Emma was in her mommy.

"Snow White, huh? You have heard that one so many times before." He pointed out. He knew this wouldn't put her off though. Emma just smiled at him, still wanting mommy and daddy's story. Charming sighed, getting himself settled on the princess bed beside his princess.

"Alright." He relented. Not that he really minded. He loved telling Emma this story. He just wished Snow was here to add in her two pence worth as well. "Once upon a time, there lived a charming prince…"

"You, daddy!" Emma interrupted excitedly. Charming chuckled, kissing the top of her head.

"That's right, daddy. And a rebellious princess…"

"Mommy!" Emma added.

"Yes, mommy, and this is how they met and got their happy ending…" Charming told the story off by heart, with Emma giving her little additions throughout. How far she made it in the story depended on how tired she was. That night, she barely made it past the wedding.

"Then they found out they were going to have a baby. Then nine months later, their perfect baby girl was born. It was the best day of their life, but also the hardest." Charming continued quietly, with his snoozing daughter resting her head on his chest. "Because her mommy knew only two people could go through, and she was still too sore to move to the wardrobe. So Emma went through with her daddy. But one day, they will be reunited. One day they will find each other again, because they will always find each other." Charming kissed the top of her head. "Goodnight, baby girl, sweet dreams." Charming carefully slid Emma back onto her bed and crept out of her room. He looked back at her one last time. She definitely had him wrapped around her little finger. Not that he minded one bit. He just wished Snow was here too.
