Willing sacrifice- part 2
A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2816 "Willing sacrifice" where Emma is commanded to try and kill her parents. However, they are able to get her heart back from the Evil Queen. They then talk to Emma about how she nearly gave up herself for them.
The whispers in her head were stronger than any she had gone through as the Dark One- much stronger. She tried to fight them off, but it was nearly impossible.
Kill them. The Evil Queen's voice hissed inside her head. Kill them now and bring me the boy. Emma gritted her teeth, trying to shake the thoughts out, but they weren't leaving. She couldn't stop her feet from marching onwards towards her parents' home. She couldn't stop her hand from clutching tightly to her father's sword (the Evil Queen just found that far too poetic not to). She was trying so hard to take back control of her own actions, but she was unable.
Emma burst through the door of her parents' apartment. Her parents sprang back from each other's arms. They were still rejoicing in the surprising end to their latest curse.
"Emma!" Snow shouted, she was so happy she didn't notice the sword in her daughter's hand, or the pained, vacant, expression on her face. "Sweetheart, we're free! We don't know why yet, your father just woke up…"
"It was me." Emma spilled out quickly while she had a moment of control. Snow and Charming were confused. What did she mean it was her? "I went to the Evil Queen. I gave her my heart to crush in exchange for this curse to end." The sword rose and she threw it at her parents. They ducked in time and it lodged itself in the wall. Snow and Charming were so confused.
"What?" Charming asked. "You went to the Evil Queen to kill you?! Emma!-"
"She's got your heart, hasn't she?" Snow said, sounding deflated. Emma nodded. "She wants you to kill us?" Emma nodded again, creating a fireball. "We're going to sort this." Snow promised her, pulling something out her pocket. "Regina gave us this for an emergency. I just didn't think I'd be using it against you." Before Emma could react, Snow flung the contents of the vial at Emma. She froze, unable to move.
"Squid ink." Her father explained as Snow bundled up a now screaming Neal. "That should hold you for an hour." He came over and kissed the side of Emma's head. "We're going to go to Regina. She'll help us get your heart back. We'll sort this, Emma. Then we'll have a nice long chat about putting yourself in mortal peril without so much as consulting us." Charming warned her. Emma would have grimaced if she could. In her plan she wasn't around for this part.
Regina was able to help the Charmings with getting back their daughter's heart. The Evil Queen was far from defeated, but at least they had their daughter back. They all knew the Evil Queen would be furious that she had been thwarted once again, but that was a problem for tomorrow. Today's problem was dealing with Emma's choice of actions.
Once she was unfrozen and Regina had placed her heart back in her chest, Snow and Charming sat Emma down and Emma knew she was in trouble.
"In my defence, it was torture seeing the pair of you like that." Emma defended herself. Emma sought out her mom's eyes. "You were beginning to lose hope. That's always terrifying." Snow sighed. She understood where Emma was coming from, but that didn't mean choosing to sacrifice herself was the right path to go down.
"How do you think we would have felt, Emma?" Charming asked gently. "When we were done celebrating and tried to find you, to celebrate with you, only to find out you were dead? That our reunion was only caused by your death, which we are all right now working tirelessly to stop because we can't imagine a life without you?" Emma shifted uncomfortably on the couch.
"Well you couldn't live without me, but I couldn't live seeing you both like that, so I did what I had to do." Emma responded stubbornly. Snow and Charming looked at each other, eyebrows raised. A silent conversation took place between them both over which one of them she was as stubborn as. In the end, they knew arguing with her over this would just end up in them going in circles. So instead, they both got up and sat either side of Emma, hugging her together.
"Just…don't ever do anything like that again." Snow pleaded with her. "We got lucky this time, but next time if the Evil Queen has the power to kill you I'm not sure she'll be so arrogant with her power." Snow warned her. "Well, not that you'll have the chance to do something like that again."
"What?" Emma asked her.
"Oh, you think we're letting you out of our sight for a good long while after pulling a stunt like that? Not a chance!" Emma launched into an impassioned rant about how that wasn't fair and how she had just done what she had to so she could protect her family. Snow and Charming didn't take much of what she said into account. Her safety would always come above her annoyance at them.
