I want a mom

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma, Snow and Neal watching the Rugrats in Paris movie. When the song "I want a mom to last forever" comes on. It makes Emma cry and she admits to Snow that when she watched it, she used to want her mom, leading to Snow hugging her. This movie totally didn't make me blubber like a baby every time I watched it…

Guest: What would you like to happen in this sequel?

That poor little boy. Snow thought to herself as she watched the wild haired redhead cuddling his teddy bear on the aeroplane. She couldn't believe she was sympathising so much with a cartoon. Chuckie wasn't even real, but Snow could definitely feel tears brimming. Curse Neal for going through a retro phase! He loved it when Snow and Charming let him watch the Rugrats cartoons on Netflix, so they'd bought him the movie on DVD to see if he liked it. Apparently, he loved it. Since Emma was spending the day with them, she was watching too. Snow heard a sniffing sound coming from her left. She glanced over and smiled faintly. It appeared Chuckie Finster's antics had got her husband emotional as well. Subtly, Snow got a hankie from the coffee table and passed it to him. Charming took one arm of of Neal's knee (the four year old was cuddled on his lap) and gratefully took it, dabbing his eyes. Snow turned to her other side, wondering why Emma hadn't teased her dad yet…when she noticed that not only were some sympathetic tears leaking out her eyes, but she was silently bawling her eyes out. She was clearly trying to hide it, keeping her hand up to block her parents and brother from seeing her, but Snow still saw enough to know Emma was upset. She gently took Emma's hand down and gave her a concerned look. Charming looked over too, just as worried. Knowing the gig was up, Emma saw no point in hiding her upset anymore.

"I went to the cinema to see this with Neal." Emma sniffed. "It was one of our first proper dates after our…unusual introduction. "I thought it was corny, seeing a kids film together, but he insisted. When this song started I had to excuse myself and missed the next twenty minutes of the movie trying to compose myself. I had to tell him there was a queue because another film just got out. It's just…it brought back so many bad feelings. I forgot this part until just now. How it reminded me of how I felt when I was Chuckie's age. How I felt when everyone else had parents pick them up from school or push them on the swings in the park. I was left alone. I used to want you so bad. I know it's stupid for a cartoon to have this effect." Emma sniffed.

"No, it's not stupid." Snow told her, pulling Emma into her arms. She knew how truly vulnerable Emma was feeling by the way she didn't pull away, instead, she rested her head against Snow's shoulder. Charming and Snow shared a look before he picked up the remote and stopped the movie.

"Aww!" Neal protested, not quite understanding his sister's distress.

"We'll watch the rest later pal." Charming assured him. At this, Emma put up a bit of a fuss.

"No, it's ok. Let Neal watch his movie…"

"Neal can watch later." Snow put her foot down. She held Emma securely. Emma smiled, relaxing.

"I'm not like Chuckie anymore though." She said quietly. Snow smiled, resting her head on top of Emma's.

"No, my love. Indeed you are not."
