Drugged
A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma being harassed and drugged in a bar with her dad saving her. I haven't ever done Emma being drugged, actually :).
Guest: Sorry, but I think I'd get hate if I wrote that.
Charming despised having to do undercover work. He found it to be the most dangerous of any police work he had to do. The only thing that made it worse, was when he had to let Emma take the lead. He hated sitting back in dodgy bars or loitering in alleyways while she was in such grave danger. It went against his very nature to let his baby girl be so close to such hardened criminals. He knew he had to though. If he didn't, it could mean them being on the streets for longer. He was only there in case things went very wrong, like they did that night.
Charming was sitting at a booth right in the corner, sipping at a beer (he didn't want to stand out by drinking an orange juice). As subtly as he possibly could, he was keeping an eye on Emma, who was standing at the bar with Jason Murphy. Murphy was the ringleader of a magical properties gang in Storybrooke. It was basically like being the head drug dealer of heroin in an area. He sold dangerous properties to dangerous, addicted people. Nobody was prepared to come forward and name him, so that left Charming and Emma with no choice but to catch him in the act himself. Murphy had a bit of a reputation for being a ladies' man, so disguising herself using her magic (Emma was far too well known in Storybrooke to not go properly disguised), Emma had been spending more and more time with Jason, hoping to see him deal.
Unfortunately for Emma, she was unaware that Jason wasn't happy that his new lady friend seemed so frigid. Whilst Emma wasn't looking, Jason slipped one of his little potions into Emma's wine, winking at his cronies. Charming, however, had seen it. He slammed down his beer and went to march up to Jason and Emma to put an end to this mission. But before he could get close, his little bodyguards got all up in Charming's face.
"Do we have a problem here?" One hissed to Charming. Emma looked over to him, confused as to why he was interrupting the meeting when it was all going to plan. She tried to make a distraction, but found her mind becoming hazy. What was going on?!
"You alright there, darlin'?" Jason asked her, slipping an arm around her waist. "You seem awful tired. Maybe we should get you home to bed." Alarm bells were now ringing for Emma, but she found herself unable to properly react.
"Yeah we have a problem." Charming snarled, whipping out his police badge before his gun. "I saw what you just did, Murphy. Move away from the girl." Murphy smiled in a way that made Charming want to punch him all the more.
"All I did was pour in some water to try and dilute the wine. My friend here seemed to be getting a little tipsy, as you can see. I'm going to be taking her home to sleep it off…"
"You're not taking her anywhere." Charming warned him. "I'll escort the lady home. Scram. Your night's over." Murphy looked Charming up and down, smirking. He got up calmly from his barstool and walked past him towards the exit, his little gang following behind.
Charming then rushed to Emma's side, who was swaying dangerously on her own stool.
"Dad?" Emma slurred. "S'appening?"
"Nothing, honey. You're gonna be fine." Charming promised her, not wanting Emma to panic. "I'm going to get you home now."
"Do good?" Emma asked in her confused state. Charming kissed the side of her head.
"You did great, sweetheart." He told her, hooking her legs over his arm and beginning to carry her out. There would be no more undercover work for Emma, he decided. He was never putting her in a position like that again.
