Ch. 10

I do not own Inuyasha

Rin walked into her home early evening, a smile on her face. After the lake she and Sesshomaru walked back to the car and he took her home after gathering her belongings at InuTaisho's.

He had walked her to her door, turned her around and kissed her again. His taste was addicting. Reluctantly they parted.

"See you tomorrow Rin," he said.

"See you tomorrow Sesshomaru," she replied.

The memory left her leaning against her door.

"Rin, you home?"

"Yes I am," Rin called out, pushing off the door and walked into the living room. Silas came out of the kitchen to see Rin moving furniture.

"Rin what are you doing?"

"You'll see," she said with a smile on her face.

Once she had a decent space, she went to the stereo and turned it on.

She didn't care what came on, she just wanted to dance, but what happened to come on first was Bamboleo.

Silas smiled and watched her. She was in an incredibly good mood today. Not like the rest of the week, she would come home in an irritable mood and would snap at the smallest things.

Today something good must have happened.

Rin continued to dance and spin about the living room until she was dizzy. She flopped onto the couch out of breath.

"Have a good day?" Silas questioned, looking down on her from above.

Rin turned thoughtful for a moment. The day itself was actually…really terrible.

"Actually uncle, it started really bad…," and so Rin told him how the day went with Sesshomaru. Silas listened to her, it seemed the day started off with a lot of stress and frustration. Then when she told him that she took him to that place.

"How did it turn out?" he asked.

"We…found our rhythm, if you know what I mean."

"I know what you mean," Silas replied thinking to his own younger days.

"And he…kissed me," Rin said going red and shoving a pillow in her face at the same time.

Silas just sat there, and then started laughing. Rin revealed her face from the pillow, aghast. Then she threw the pillow at him.

"Hey!" Silas yelled and returned the favor. For a while tyhey went back and forth, being careful of pictures and lamps.

"Okay, time out, time out," Silas yelled out holding his side.

"Are you okay?" Rin questioned a little worried.

"Just a stitch," Silas said, breathing in deep to ease the tightness.

"Oh is the old man getting tired?" Rin teased.

"Old man?" Silas quietly to himself, but then the phone rang to end their fun.

"I got it," Rin said picking up their home phone.

"Fushi residence…Hey Sango…Oh really…he's awake?...uh huh…am I able to go see him…that's great Sango…ya I'll go see him now…thanks, bye." *click*

Silas listened nearby, fixing dinner as he eavesdropped.

"Uncle can I borrow the car?" Rin asked from behind him. Silas turned around and nodded his head.

"Tell Kohaku I said hi," he replied, Rin smiled and ran to the door and left

XOXO

Rin stared down at her dear friend. He did look better. He was off the ventilator and bruises were yellowing, but his leg was in a full cast. According to Sango he many never dance again.

"Hi," he said barely mouthing the word, but he opened his eyes to stare at her.

"Hi," Rin replied and sat down by his bed.

"Sango said you have a new dance partner," Kohaku spoke a little more loudly this tiem but still a whisper.

"Ya, I asked Sesshomaru. He's a pretty quick study, but I don't think he could dance for a living," Rin said back now having tears blur her eyes.

"That's good," he said, "Could you get me some water?"

"Sure," Rin said looking around, but had to leave the room. A moment later she was carrying a cup with a sponge on a stick. She then proceeded to place the sponge into his mouth so he could suck on it. She did it several times for him until he was satisfied.

"Thank you," he said speaking more loudly, thanks to the water.

"No problem Kohaku," Rin said setting the cup down.

"Do you think he'll be ready?" Kohaku asked her.

Rin sat in silence for a moment. She nodded her head yes.

"We have had some road blocks, but I believe we'll both be ready before the competition," she replied smiling with confidence. Confidence in Sesshomaru.

"What kind of road blocks?"

"Well you know, the usual, except with Sesshomaru they seem to be more intensified…," and she continued her talk from the beginning of their journey.

Kohaku listened raptly, even though the medication he was on was causing him to doze. Rin noticed.

"Do you need some sleep?" she questioned.

"Maybe…," Kohaku said sleepily already half asleep.

Rin smiled.

"Then I'll go. I'll visit again before the competition, okay."

"I'm not going anywhere," and with that Kohaku was off to sleep.

Rin then took her leave. Once out of the hospital and into her uncle's car, she took out her phone and went to call her uncle but instead clicked Sesshomaru's number.

"Rin?" once he picked up.

"Hey Sesshomaru…um…I actually don't know why I called…I guess I just need to talk to someone."

Sesshomaru heard the emotion in her voice.

"Did something happen?"

"Ya…Kohaku woke up," she said, silence on the end.

"Where are you?", came his next question.

"I'm still in the parking lot at St. Jude's," she replied.

"Stay there," he said, then click.

Not five minutes later someone knocked on her window. She smiled and leaped out to wrap her arms around his neck.

She started crying. She thought her tears had run dry after the emotional day she already had but this was something different.

Sesshomaru waited patiently till the tears had run their course.

Then he stepped back to look at her.

"Are you going to be okay?" he asked.

"Is it wrong of me to almost completely forgotten him the entire time I've been with you?"

The question was out of the blue.

"No Rin because you are not just focused on me (although doesn't mind that thought) you are focused on succeeding," Sesshomaru said, "Dancing is your life, you said so yourself, so it is understandable to forget something you have no control over."

Rin's eyes were still dropping tears, but she was calm.

"You do not need to feel guilty. It was not your fault for what happened to him," Sesshomaru continued and then pulled something out of his jacket pocket. He handed it to Rin.

"In my spare time, I have been looking into the accident Kohaku was in."

Rin looked up from the paperwork and stared, looking through it page by page, tears completely dried up.

"If you remember what Kagura said at the restaurant," Rin nodded yes, "It so happens the Onigumo's payed off the truck driver that hit Kohaku."

Rin couldn't believe it. Her eyes wide, she felt like she couldn't breathe. Sesshomaru brought her in again till he calmed down.

When she stepped back from him again, she only to have a determined look on her face.

"Can this be proven?"

"The police are piling all the evidence as we speak. They would just need a confession."

"Like at a dance competition?"

Sesshomaru quirked his eyebrow.

"Between you and me... and my uncle, the Onigumo's have paid off the judges at every competition they have ever attended," Rin said.

Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed at that, but it was Rin's next words that set something off in him. It was feral what he felt.

"I want to make them pay,"Rin said, her eyes for a split second changed color. They reflected his own amber eyes.

He wanted her…badly.

But he didn't want to rush what they had at the moment. It felt steady.

Rin had sensed his moment of intensity and calmed down herself. So instead she just leaned into him. The moment passed and Rin stepped back, now looking exhausted.

"Have you had dinner yet?" he asked.

She shook her head no.

"I'll drive," he said and Rin handed him the key, then walked to the passenger side of the vehicle. A though came to her then as Sesshomaru opened the drivers side.

"Sesshomaru, how did you get here?" she asked.

He smirked and simply said, "I flew." Rin's eyebrows flew, like he did, right into the air, but she had a slight confused look to her features.

"Care to elaborate?" she said as they got in the car, Sesshomaru practically slamming the front seat all the way back so he could fit his legs. For a moment Rin though he was going to break it, but waited patiently for him to answer her.

He didn't. He just gave her a sideways glance and slight smirk came to his lips. Then I dawned on her.

Oh.

"You have a plethora of abilities don't you?"

His smirk widened minutely. Yes, yes his did. He drove her to a restaurant that had what humans called fast food. He sniffed the food questionably. Sesshomaru had never had fast food.

The taste wasn't all too terrible, but not offensive to his palate.

Rin smiled the entire time. It was fun watching Sesshomariu's face when he was experiencing them for the first time. They had light conversation through the meal and once done they left.

Once again in front of her home, Rin got out of the vehicle and so did Sesshomaru.

"So once again you bring me home tonight," Rin said a little offhanded, fiddling with her keys. Sesshomaru stilled them and took her in his arms and gave her a slow and resonating kiss. Rin felt like she could do anything, but once Sesshomaru parted with her she felt loss.

"Rin I will see you tomorrow," he said, his voice deep with timbre.

"Yes," she replied, barely whisper.

Sesshomaru turned a little reluctantly, tensed his legs and flew into the sky.

Rin was amazed at how effortless he made it look, but also f3elt really lucky that he was hers.
