BIO
Amadeus Wolfgeist is typically a calm, patient man, albeit one who is easily annoyed by those he considers beneath him (which is most people). He is a master on the piano, and isn't too easy-to-anger most of the time. The one exception to this is when harm comes to his adopted daughter Gloria, also known as DJ Phantasmagloria.
His skills on the piano go far back to his early childhood. By a young age, he was already performing his own compositions for a grand crowd. His parents usually forced him to do so, taking advantage of his inherent talent. Luckily for him, he loved playing classical instruments, and did so more for his own enjoyment than that of other people's.
With his fame, came his lover Maria. Maria cared little for his fame, the same way he did, and the two genuinely hit it off and adored each other. The only problem was that they needed permission from their fathers to marry, and though Maria's father was okay with whatever she did Amadeus's was not. It took far more pushing to get him to agree.
Soon after marriage, their relationship was so strong that they wanted to have kids together. Unusually for that era, it wasn't to pass on any genes or anything like that. It was to have a proper family to love. Unfortunately, this was an era where children were very unlikely to make it to adulthood or even past infancy. Amadeus and Maria had six children together, but only one son made it. In fact, daughter Anna died only 15 minutes after her birth. Each loss crushed Amadeus further and further, and the son who survived was spoiled like a king.
Amadeus died of unknown causes, a few years before Maria did, leaving many of his compositions to be forever unfinished. He roamed the world for many decades, trying to reunite with his lost family members but having no such luck. At least in death, he could appreciate how much music shifted over the years, while his own songs were still being played.
During his travels, he came across an abandoned disco hall in Glitterville, some time in the 80's. There, he found a recently departed DJ Phantasmagloria, who like most recent ghosts was lost and confused. Amadeus's fatherly instincts kicked in, and he adopted her without any second thoughts. Because of all the loss he suffered, he is very protective over her. Anyone who even thinks about bringing harm to her such be punished. He won't just hurt you, but your ghost as well. They often play music together.
EXTRA NOTES
-When Serpci and MacFrights aren't around, Amadeus takes over the role of leader.
-Though he may not understand modern music, he has no problem with others liking it. After all, he sees no reason to put people down for liking music. Music is music, no matter the genre. He still, however, asserts that his music is the best (alongside Gloria's, of course).
-The piano is his favourite, but he is also quite talented with violins and clarinets.
-He loses his patience with idiots. To get them out, he simply glares at them and tells them to leave. Even though he doesn't plan on hurting them at all (unless they REALLY overstay their welcome), it gets them out without fail.
-Inspired by how the real Mozart originated from Austria, Amadeus has a light Austrian accent and occasionally speaks German.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Original Title - The Melodious Pianist
Like a lot of the ghosts, Amadeus's entire character stemmed from something that was originally going to be quite minor. I knew I wanted Amadeus and Gloria to have some sort of a connection due to them both being music-based bosses, so I went with Gloria being Amadeus's adopted daughter. I realised that said daughter gave him a pretty good reason to want to attack Luigi.
The real Mozart was used for inspiration involving Amadeus's backstory and death, albeit Amadeus lived quite a bit longer. The real Mozart had six children, but only two lived past infancy, one of whom died only about 15 minutes after her birth. So, Amadeus suffered the loss of many children, leading to him becoming particularly protective over the ghostly daughter he has now.
