Chapter 1: Bring Us Home Part 1
"Mai, tea." As usual, my boss, Naru, has been requesting for tea for who knows for how many times just for today.
"Coming." I said.
Oh, sorry. Long time no see. I'm Mai. That tea loving jerk is my boss, Naru, is being annoying too today. It's been 2 years ever since the team know about the real identity of my boss, which is actually the most famous psychic in the supernatural world, Oliver Davis. When he found his brother's body, he and Lin went back to England. After that, I thought that he would never be back here in Japan again. After he rejected my confession to him, I gave up my feelings. At least I did try.

- 2 years prior -
After his departure to England, I finished high school then went to university and take parapsychology as my major. I take part-time jobs to cover my expenses. I still contact the others but it's getting less and less because of my busy schedule. Ayako recently went to Hokkaido for vacation, Monk went to Seoul for his band concert, John went back to Australia, Yasuhara went to college at Tokyo University, while Masako is still busy with her own shooting schedule.
My schedules at university usually end at 4.20 PM. After classes, I start working for my part time jobs. I have part time job at a convenient store right after class and went home around 12 PM. Over the weekend I have to work full time at a family restaurant, then I would go to the bar and work there as a server and usually got home around 5 AM. Michiru and Keiko would tell me that I looked like a walking corpse, I looked so tired. Well, it's not like I've got any other choice. Speaking of Michiru and Keiko, we actually go to the same university so I still meet them even though we have different major. It was 4.55 PM when I arrived at the convenient store. There's still 5 more minutes until my shift start. I hurriedly went to the staff room to change clothes then went back to the front and start doing my work. While working, my coworker, Hiyori senpai, told me about the stories that have been going viral for a while now. About seeing a ghost in front of convenient stores like this every Thursday night. Speaking of ghost, it's really been a while since I saw the others. Since I barely have time for myself, I don't really bother to see my phone, unless I have urgent matter.
"I'll put these (pointing to the drinks on the box) first, you watch here." Hiyori senpai said.
"Okay." I said.
I was spacing off as usual when I heard the song when a customer came and out of the store. Startled, I then braced myself then welcome the customer.
"Welcome!" I said with a smile plastered on my face. I looked up when I saw no one. I got confused at first, then this feeling that I haven't feel in a while came back. *Dug* Oh, come on. Not now, please. I'm not prepare for anything like this, and not when I'm working.
"Anyone came in?" asked Hiyori senpai as she came from the back section. Confused as she saw no customer that supposed to be here somewhere.
"I don't know. But I heard someone came in because I heard the song and also, I think that the door was open." I answered, even if I know that there's something here, I can't tell her. I'm sure she won't believe me anyway.
"Are you sure? Cause I don't see anyone here. And I also don't hear anyone coming in just now. Are you sure you heard it right? Not because you were daydreaming." Hiyori senpai said.
"I'm sure. In fact, I 100% heard it. And I wasn't daydreaming, I was just spacing out. But I'm sure I heard someone came in." I said, trying to convince her that there was really someone that just came in.
"Ok. Even if you're sure, there's no one here except us you know. Are you trying to..." she stopped suddenly, whatever it is that she wanted to say, apparently just gone.
"Senpai? Hiyori senpai? Are you okay?" I asked, suddenly concerned for her. I saw her face paling, like she just saw a ghost or something. I then follow her eyes. I now know what made her like this, cause I'm currently in the same state as her. Only, because of my past experiences, I wasn't as scared as I was before Naru came. Yeah, at times like this, I really wish one them were here, to at least help me with the exorcise or something. It is currently standing still 10 meters away from the store. It just looked like a silhouette. But then it starts to walk toward us. It was then my nightmare start to show, as he slowly steps closer, I can identify that it's a man, and was sure that he passed away because of car accident. First thing that I noticed is blood everywhere on his body. The closer he gets, I can see his eyes that almost popped out of the eye socket, his limp legs that I'm sure that he has broken his bones when the accident happened, his arms that bend unnaturally, some organs that got out of his body. But I'm mostly terrified of its face, all I can see was blood, there were no skin left. When he's right in front of the door, I naturally went in front of Hiyori senpai and prepare my hands to do the Mantra of the Immovable One and Kuji-in as what was taught to me by Monk and Ayako.
"Naumaku san manda bazaradan kan…Naumaku san manda bazaradan kan…Naumaku san manda bazaradan kan!"
Iaaa….tasukete...onegaii...tasukete... (No… Help… Please… Help…) He said with his pained voice again and again as he steps closer towards us as one of his arm trying to reach out to me.
For sure, even if he asked my help, I won't be able to help him.
"Rin! Pyo! Tou! Sha! Kai! Jin! Retsu! Zai! Zen!" I continue with Kuji-in until he disappeared.
Thud* I saw Hiyori senpai on the floor. I think she's so scared that her legs gave up on her.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"Wha..j..ha..n.."(What just happened) not answering my question to her. I saw her whole body shaking, I think she haven't gotten out of the incident that just happened. I can understand her, even if I shield her, she can still see everything because she's taller than me.
"Senpai, I think it's best for you to go home. If you're too scared to be alone, you can go to your friend's house first. I'll handle the rest with Tamaki senpai." Hiyori senpai just nod to my suggestion, unable to speak anything. I helped her stood up, and took her to the staff room. Tamaki senpai was inside the room monitoring from the CCTV, looked up to me and Hiyori senpai and asked what happened. I obviously didn't answer him, and only shook my head like saying "Not now". He understood as he nods, then helped us to call taxi to send Hiyori senpai home.
