Ren felt cold. Despite the unusual heatwave outside, the girl continued shivering and wrapping herself into numerous duvets. Her body trembled vigorously as the sound of her chattering teeth filled the room. She coughed, covering her mouth with the corner of the duvet. Feeling sick was an understatement and suddenly passing out seemed like a perfect solution to all per problems. Ren coughed again and buried herself under the blankets when someone rang the bell.

She groaned loudly and remained still, hoping that whoever was at the door would go away quickly, but the doorbell buzzed again and again, forcing the girl to crawl out of the bed.

The walls provided support as she slowly moved toward the front door. Every step was a struggle, as the blankets suddenly felt like heavy burden. Ren shook them off but did not feel better. A droplet of sweat rolled into her eye. The girl hissed and tried to blink it away. Her moist hand slipped on the wall while she tripped over her legs. Ren fell onto the front door. As she slid down the door, she pushed down the handle.

The door cracked open, but no one peeked out.

"Hello?" he called out, but there was no answer. Toshinori pushed the door lightly, feeling resistance against it. The plastic bag slipped out of his hand. Toshinori found himself on his knees in front of the black-haired girl. Ren's eyes were closed, and breathing was heavy. "Ren, Ren." His voice was not reaching her.

He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. She snuggled to his body, the same way she did when he took her home from the club. "Warm," her voice was barely audible. "So warm."

Toshinori easer her on the bed, but Ren wouldn't let go. She clenched onto his shirt and held tight as if her life depended on it.

"Come on, princess," he said gently trying to unhook her hands from his shirt. "I will get you medicine."

Ren's eyes opened.

Her gaze focused on his face.

"Bunny head," she mouthed. His eyes opened wide. "Soft ears," a small smile crossed her lips as she reached out for his hair, but the lack of strength in her body made her fall back on the bed. She let out a displeased groan.

Was she trying to grab onto my hair?

The thought amused him, but when a wave of cough washed over the girl, Toshinori hurried out of the room. He helped her take the medicine and placed a cool patch on her forehead. After tossing and turning for half an hour, Ren finally fell asleep.

You were right. Ren is sick, I gave her the medicine.

Kayama's reply came quicker than he expected.

Thanks. I'm on patrol all night, but I will pop in tomorrow morning.

All Might returned to the bedroom to check on Ren. He wiped the sweat from her face and pulled up the covers. As he was about to leave the room, he felt a weak tug on his trousers.

"Bunny head," she mouthed not opening her eyes. "Stay,"

He did not need another invitation. All Might sat on the floor next to the bed and held Ren's hand. Although her body was burning up her fingers felt ice cold. He rubbed her palms with his thumbs hoping that it would help. The contrast between their hands fascinated him. All Might brought her small hand to his face and rested his cheek against it. He gently pressed his lips to her palm and put her hand back at her side. The cooling patch was no longer cool, so he rushed to replace it. A soft sigh of relief escaped her lips. The hero smiled.

Ren shifted in her sleep, pulling the covers off herself and revealing a part of her tattoo. Toshinori forced himself to look away. He picked up a book from her desk and tried to concentrate on reading, but every time his gaze would travel to her bared shoulder.

Unable to resist Toshinori kneeled beside her, completely captivated by the sight of yellow flowers decorating her flesh. All Might didn't know anything about tattoo work, but looking at the smallest details on the petals, he could tell that it was done by a true craftsman. All of a sudden, the lump in his throat got bigger. With a hint of uncertainty, he reached out and touched the ink, which was now permanently absorbed into her skin.

Her skin was burning under his fingertips and Toshinori couldn't tell if the burn was real or provoked by his actions. With great difficulty the lump went down his throat. He outlined each flower available to his gaze, praying for Ren to keep on sleeping. Not knowing what possessed him, Toshinori leaned closer and closer until his lips connected with her skin.

His eyes widened in shocked.

The silence got loud.

Toshinori found himself in the opposite side of the room. He could hear his heart beating loudly in his ears. What has gotten into me? The thought hammered his brain. He turned his gaze away from the girl, who was still asleep, completely oblivious to what happened. Toshinori slid down the wall and rested his elbow on the bent knee. His head rested against the wall and eyes were glued to the ceiling. What was I thinking? She is sick, asleep and most likely not interested. What the hell is wrong with me? His train of thoughts was taking him further and further away from reality when a quiet voice pulled him back in.

"Mhmmm…" Ren groaned quietly and rubbed her eyes with her fists. The sight was so sweet and innocent and Toshinori simply could not look away. She opened her eyes and looked at him unseeingly. "Bunny head!" she pointed her slender finger at him.

"N…no. Ren, it's me, Toshinori." All Might moved closer to the bed, but she could not seem to focus her vision.

"Bunny head, what are you doing down there?" she asked. "Come here," she threw the covers off and patted the space beside her.

"No, no," Toshinori hurried to move away, but she caught his hand.

"Usagi…" Ren coughed loudly releasing his hand and dropping back on the bed. "Don't leave me, bunny head." She mumbled.

"I'm not going anywhere," a soft sigh escaped his lips. Toshinori sat on the bed and she hurried to move, making more space. He hesitated for a moment but a tug on his shirt was enough to give in and lie down beside the girl. He turned his body to face her. Ren's eyes were already closed, but hands reached out to him instinctively. She buried her face in his chest and snuggled close. Toshinori held her close, listening to the sound of her breathing. The silence of the room no longer felt suffocating. He yawned and closed his eyes. Soon he fell asleep.
