Hi readers!!

For the first time ever, I am accepting a readers request to write a one shot based on Miraculous.

Therefore, any credit for this wonderful idea goes to JBlaser!!!!

(I'll most likely upload my other Miraculous story Steal My Heart on Monday.)

I hope you enjoy this story!

With a flush adorning her slightly freckled cheeks and sheer utter will in her heart, the teen speed-walked through the sunlit streets of Paris.

She was late - incredibly late.

She tied her midnight hair into pigtails and tried to straighten her grey blazer and white top as she jogged towards her destination.

Her bluebell eyes blinked in concentration as she forged towards the café which she should've arrived at thirty minutes earlier.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng was not a very punctual person; this was clear to everyone she knew.

Normally it was because she had been sidetracked or had woken up late.

If this case it was the former.

An akumatised villain had struck the moment she had left the apartment above the bakery that her parents' owned.

Naturally, the city's superheroes had to interfere with the supervillain while they began their path of destruction so that they could then de-akumatise the poor civilian who had fallen into the desperate clutches of the cities infamous mastermind – HawkMoth.

Unfortunately for Marinette, it meant that she would have to delay her arrival at the café because SHE was one of those said superheroes.

She was the incredible Ladybug, and her partner was Chat Noir.

They were both celebrated throughout the city for their acts of heroism and because they always managed to stop the akumatised victims from going too far.

They would then undo any issues by using one of her fantastic but confusing plans and Ladybug's magical power – the lucky charm.

After she had done her part in taking the villain down, she had fist bumped her partner in celebration and then run away so that she could jump into an abandoned alley to de transform, only to realise that she was in the opposite side of the city to where she had originally been.

So now she was rushing to make sure she wasn't even more delayed.

Especially since someone special was going to be there.

Adrien.

She escaped into a world of her own for a moment.

A world where she was married to a certain green-eyed, blonde model and had 3 children and a pet hamster.

As she continued to move she slipped in and out of this fantasy.

She suddenly reached the edge of a street that led out to a busy road.

"Oh great!" She muttered. "Now how am I going to get past?"

Her adorable kwami Tikki said to her reassuringly, "You'll get there soon. Don't worry!"

She smiled at the tiny God before clicking her purse shut so no one saw her.

She looked across at the street opposite.

She recognised one of her classmates - Chloe - was stood outside an incredibly expensive clothes store and beside her was none other than Audrey Bourgeois - Chloe's mother and the famous director of the fashion magazine Style Queen.

She lived in New York but must have been on one of her rare visits to Paris and decided to spend time with her daughter.

Marinette knew how much Chloe tried to stand out in front of her mother because she wanted Audrey to pay more attention to her.

In fact, Marinette had once even tried to get the two to bond by turning down an offer to go to New York with the fashion critic so that Chloe could go instead.

They didn't end up going but they did bond even if it was only a tiny bit.

Recently, the mother and daughter had been spending more time together than usual and Marinette could see the positive impact it was having on Chloe.

The blonde always seemed to be in happier spirits and it changed her personality, allowing her to open up and become the considerate, caring person that no one had known she could be though she would still announce her opinions unconsciously and clearly still had a strong dislike for Marinette.

Even now though, Marinette was witnessing Chloe's effort to be at the centre of her mother's attention.

She would be doing the same if she were in her position.

Audrey however was blatantly ignoring her daughter as she criticised an outfit that was hung in the window.

Marinette could hear small snippets of the woman's speech. "Unacceptable! Utterly UNacceptable."

Marinette rolled her eyes at that line. The similarities between the two were endless.

She found it endearing in a way.

Even thought the two didn't realise it, it was clear that Chloe adored her mother and looked to her as an example.

She saw that behind the mother and daughter was a ladder that didn't look entirely stable.

On top of that ladder was a huge bucket of paint.

A bucket of paint. On top of an unstable ladder. That could fall at any minute.

The realisation hit her.

The ladder fell under the buckets weight and the paint began falling.

Eyes widening, Marinette ran through ongoing traffic and pushed the Bourgeois pair out of the way and allowed the paint to fall on her instead.

"Marinette!" Chloe's shrill voice rang through the air. "Were you following us?"

"What!" She replied. "No! I was in my way to a cafe to meet Alya, Nino and Adrien. I'm already late enough as it is though so I should probably go."

"You can't go out like that!" Audrey grimaced. "Just look at the state of you!"

Marinette looked down at her clothes. They were handmade but now were ruined.

Streaks of blue paint were on her face but her white top and grey jacket were soaked in the stuff.

"Oh no!" She sighed. "Guess I'll have to make a detour back to the bakery to change."

"Why don't you come back to the hotel with us instead?" Audrey asked. "We're having facials and manicures done."

"But mother-" Chloe began protesting.

"Hush now Chloe, it's clear she should. She definitely needs her hair done as well just look at it! She saved our lives as well. I wouldn't be caught dead in that ghastly colour of paint!"

Chloe sighed in resignation. "I guess you're right mother."

"Thank you for the offer Mrs Bourgeois but I hardly saved your lives and certainly don't need to be repaid. It was just some paint and-"

"Nonsense! It's the least we could do and I will not take no for an answer!"

"Okay fine!" She relented. "I guess I would've been late if I went back to the bakery anyways."

Audrey clapped her hands and butler Jean appeared, grabbing the Bourgeois pair's shopping bags and then leading them to the car.

"After me madams."

The trio had arrived outside the Bourgeois hotel which was owned by the city's mayor who was none other than Chloe's father.

Marinette was carefully led to Chloe's room and had to pretend to be astounded by her surroundings when they got to it since the few times she had ever been in there had been as Ladybug.

"Wow!" She muttered in awe. "You're room is huge!"

"Yes I know!" Chloe replied trying to keep her grimace out of her voice. "Daddy only allows the best for me!"

Marinette nodded to be polite.

That was when three women entered the room.

Spa attendants.

They all carried large trays filled with things that Marinette had never seen before.

She gulped nervously.

This was going to take a very long time.

Some time later, Marinette was lounging in a recliner and felt incredibly drowsy.

She has never been to a spa or had a massage, manicure or facial done so she didn't realise how overwhelmingly relaxing it would be.

Her nails were pristine and her face felt like it was new. She was currently being massaged by one of the attendants and it felt like she was in the seventh heaven.

She sighed in joy and didn't spot the smirk that Chloe shot her way as she slowly fell into a deep sleep.

Chloe didn't know what to think about it Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

Sure she had initially disliked her but perhaps she had judged her far too quickly.

She recognised now, that Marinette was kind to everyone including her.

After all Marinette had given up the chance of a lifetime to go to NYC so that she could go instead.

And the bluenette had also saved her and her mother from utter embarrassment and ridicule by moving them out of the way so that they weren't hit by paint.

When her mother had invited Marinette to their spa day she had to admit that she was slightly disgruntled.

Despite the fact that they owed her gratitude for her kindness, Chloe had wanted to spend some quality time alone with her mother.

Afterwards though, she saw a different side of Marinette.

A funny one who had similar interests of her own.

One that she could understand more.

While they had been doing their nails, they had conversed, talking about there mutual hatred for Lila and that they both had their insecurities.

They didn't delve too deep into them though since they still weren't that close.

While they were getting their massages done Chloe had an idea.

Maybe if she gave Marinette a makeover they could be better friends.

It was the perfect way to end a day of pampering and niceties.

So when she saw Marinette falling asleep she saw her chance and decided to take it.

...

"You want to what?!" Her mother blinked in shock.

"I want to give Dupain-Cheng a makeover!" Chloe repeated.

"But why?!" Her mother said. "We've already done enough. Look at her hands and face - blemish free. And her nails- gorgeous. Though I must admit that her hair puts it off. And those clothes need to disappear from my sight or else I will most certainly faint from looking and smelling that ghastly paint for so long!"

"Exactly! So much wasted potential could be put to such better use if we redid her look."

"You're absolutely right Chloe darling! But first we should definitely change her outfit." Audrey said, picking up a strand of hair that was on Marinette face.

Chloe beamed under her mother's appreciation of her idea.

...

A few minutes after they had decided to give Marinette a makeover, the mother and daughter had ransacked Chloe's wardrobe looking for something, anything that would match Marinette's complexion or even hair but they found nothing.

"There's nothing a little make up and hair dye can't fix!" Her mother winked.

And so they worked.

They chose a gorgeous outfit consisting of a short-length, amber, v-neck dress that ended just above the knee. It's neck was lined with white fur and the material of the dress was soft and striped with black.

It was hard to change Marinette's outfit without waking the girl so they were as careful and gentle as possible.

They tenderly slipped off Marinette's white top (she had already taken off her jacket beforehand) and then did their best to pull the yellow dress on without giving the girl a chance to awaken.

They then swapped her worn out pink ballet flats with black designer heels and then placed black evening gloves onto her small hands. They were fingerless so that her newly manicured nails could be exposed to the eye.

Once they were happy with the outfit, they decided to dye Marinette's hair blonde.

This was a long process since her hair was very dark.

They didn't want to do it themselves so they asked a spa attendant to do it for them.

They draped a towel around the sleeping beauty's shoulders so that they wouldn't stain and then removed her hair ties.

The attendant sprayed water onto Marinette's hair before combing it and splitting it into three layers, two of which she clipped up.

She began painting the hair with bleach and then wrapping the strands in tinfoil.

This would allow the hair to lighten before they put on the hair dye.

The attendant did the same to the rest of the hair before stopping so that the bleach could dry up.

While they waited, the Bourgeois women decided to apply makeup to Marinette's face so that her skin wouldn't look so pale.

They first had to apply foundation and concealer so that Marinette's skin looked even.

They didn't have one that perfectly matched her skin tone but they supposed it didn't matter since they were going for a new look.

Using a damp makeup sponge they applied the liquidy foundation to her face, rubbing it slowly along her forehead, chin, cheeks and cheekbones.

It felt smooth against her skin and they were happy with the outcome.

They then used the pads of their fingers to dab small spots of concealer below Marinette's eyelids, and tapped the makeup in, rather than rubbing it for fear of smudging the foundation.

They then wanted to apply lipstick but since her lips were already a pinkish colour, they barely put any on.

Again, they used the pads of their fingers to dab the lipstick in, for fear that too much contact would wake Marinette up.

After this they began working on her eyes.

They were a beautiful bluebell colour and so they decided to paint her eyelids blue (similar to Chloe's look).

They found a pallet of eyeshadows with hues that varied from the most beautiful ceruleans to the darkest sapphires.

They settled for one in the middle which reminded them of the ocean.

Using a small brush they applied the substance to her eyelids, going to extreme lengths to not rouse the teen.

For the finishing touch, they stroked a pale pink blush onto her cheekbones, moving the brush diagonally upwards.

They stepped away to admire what they had done so far.

The attendant returned with a box of blonde hair dye.

It was time to finish the hair.

...

After some time the finishing touches had been applied to Marinette's hair.

It was now a golden blonde and slightly wavy.

They removed the towel and clipped a gorgeous diamond pendant around her neck.

They had placed an onyx, summer hat onto her tresses and a pair of black and gold sunglasses above them.

They had sprayed her clothes with an expensive perfume and put a black designer bag onto her lap and placed her pink one inside rather than emptying it since they didn't know what personal items she might have inside it.

"Do you think we did good?" Chloe asked her mother.

"What do you think?" Her mother replied. "She looks like the definition of stylish!"

They both looked at each other and smiled.

Giving Marinette a makeover had given the two a fantastic chance to bond with each other and it had strengthened their once weak relationship.

Marinette began to stir.

Her eyes opened and she blinked slowly.

Once. Twice. A third time.

She sleepily took in her surroundings and then realised where she was and yelped.

She then looked down at her clothes and helped again.

"W-what happened? Was there an alumna attack where I got hit and-" she didn't finish her sentence as she looked up at Chloe and Audrey.

They smiled sheepishly and then grabbed her arms, pulling her up and dragging her towards the mirror.

She took in her appearance.

Her hair.

Her outfit.

Her face.

Her smell.

Everything!

She didn't know what to say. She was in complete and utter shock.

A part of her wanted to yell at Chloe and her mother but when she turned to look at them she saw something in their eyes.

Was it hope?

She couldn't break that. They seemed so proud and happy and probably thought they had done some othering incredibly nice for her.

In many ways they had, but she had already been happy with the way she had looked previously.

"Do you like it?" They asked timidly.

"I love it!"

Audrey and Chloe decided to drop off Marinette at the cafe seeing as she was already so incredibly late.

When she entered, they pretended to leave but instead they stood at the door waiting to see her friends' reactions.

Sunglasses on and hat secured, Marinette timidly walked in and sat down beside Alya.

Alya, Nino and Adrien turned in confusion to her, clearly not recognising her.

"I'm sorry but do we know you?" Alya asked.

Marinette lifted her sunglasses and laughed nervously.

"Marinette?!" They all yelled, recognition flooding into their faces.

They would recognise that nervous smile and those bluebell eyes anywhere.

"Hi?!" She said.

Alya grabbed her by the shoulders and started shaking her wildly. "Girl what did you do to yourself?!"

"Chloe and her mom gave me a makeover and I just couldn't refuse?" She said struggling to find the right words.

She then subtly indicated the two Bourgeois' at the door and silently begged her friends to pretend to like it.

They nodded in understanding and began complimenting her non stop until the point where Chloe and her mother seemed satisfied and had left.

"This is a story you have got to tell!" Nino told Marinette.

After all, why would Chloe ever give Marinette a makeover when she hated her guts?

So Marinette began recounting her day, how she was running late to their meeting due to the Akuma attack (she didn't mention that she was fighting it) when she saved Chloe and Audrey and the events that followed.

As she continued speaking she didn't notice Adrien staring at her.

Not because of the makeover, but because of how kind she was inside and out.

She had allowed Chloe and her mum to do this to her despite their mutual hatred of one another.

He only wished the whole world could have as pure a soul as hers.

So that is it!
