Still stuck in the head
ThatSwanQueenShipper asked for a oneshot of *mid-season finale spoilers!* Emma not remembering her real life at all, so Regina has to kidnap her and take her to Storybrooke.
Some of you guys already know, but I'm going to plug myself anyway lol. I recently uploaded a new multi chapter story called "Snowing's girls" so if you want to check that out please feel free, I'd appreciate your feedback and will be updating it as soon as I'm done updating this story :). It features Marali, an OC who's been in this story a few times.
When Charming got a text through from Regina to say that she had found Emma in the wish realm and brought her home, he of course dropped everything and went to meet them where Regina said they were. He didn't stop to think that it was strange that Emma didn't just come home herself. Only when he arrived at the clearing did he realise something was wrong. Emma…she was dressed up like someone from the Enchanted Forest, and what's more, she looked absolutely petrified to be standing with Regina grasping at her arm.
"Daddy!" Emma called out. Only then did Regina let her go and allow the girl to run into her father's arms. Charming held onto her, cupping the back of her head. He had been so scared he had lost her for good…but since when did she call him daddy?
"Daddy, did the Evil Queen force you into the strange land from my dream too?" She questioned him, pulling back from their embrace. She looked at father, puzzled. "Daddy, why are you dressed in strange clothing? Where are your royal garments?" Charming looked over to Regina for an explanation.
"Her head's still stuck in that fake reality. I had to drag her back here." Regina explained.
"Don't listen to her daddy. She will not fool us." Emma slipped behind her father. "Do you have your sword? Can you banish her again like you did when I was little?" Charming's heart sank. Emma's mindset was still in a reality that did not exist. She thought that Regina was the Evil Queen.
"I don't have my sword." Charming answered. He didn't want to confuse her by saying that Regina was telling her the truth. "But it's ok, she's not going to hurt you." He promised her. Emma leaned her head against her dad's arm.
"Well of course not, you're here. Nobody can hurt me while you or mommy are here…mommy, where is she? Is she here too? What about Henry? Daddy, why do you look so young" Charming's head was whirling from the questions.
"Uh…the age thing is a long story, honey." Charming could see that Emma was panicking. "Emma." Charming said, turning and taking her shoulders in his hands. "They're both here. Neal too." Charming assured her. Emma looked deeply confused.
"Who's Neal?" Now this was going to be difficult. Clearly, Emma didn't have a little brother in the wish realm. Hopefully they'd find a way to get Emma to remember before having to explain she had a baby brother she couldn't remember.
"It doesn't matter. Come on, I'll take you home. You can see your mom and Henry." Charming turned to Regina.
"Meet me at the house." He mouthed to her. Regina understood. A note would not cover this. Someone had to be there to explain to Snow, and Henry, what was going on.
Regina poofed herself into Snow and Charming's bedroom long before Charming arrived, got Emma sitting in the living room (after emotionally hugging Henry, glad he was safe here) and pulled his grandson into the bedroom for Regina to explain, after he woke Snow. Charming sighed before pressing his lips to Snow. This situation was getting far too complicated.
When Snow was awake, Regina explained the whole situation to her and Henry before disappearing. The last thing Emma needed right now was to either know her parents were cursed or that Regina was in the house. Snow and Henry then went out to see Emma.
"Mommy!" Emma greeted her mother enthusiastically. Snow was just as surprised as Charming had been when she called her daddy.
"I'm so glad everyone is safe here, the Evil Queen has not won. Mommy, what happened to your hair? Why is it so short? Where is daddy?" Snow was so shocked by Emma's appearance and manner that Henry had to nudge her in the ribs to get her to answer her daughter's questions.
"I don't know exactly how my hair got so short." Snow said honestly, she didn't know why it became short during the curse. "As for your father, he's very tired Emma. You can see him later. Come on sweetie. I think you need some hot coco. You've had a bit of a shock, huh?" Emma smiled gratefully at her mother, sitting on the strange looking seat with Henry.
"It'll be ok, kid." Emma said, stroking his cheek. "We'll get home soon." Henry just smiled at her, not trusting himself not to blow everything should he say something. How could he tell her this really was home?
