She hated not being in control of her own emotions. She hated that she's shown how much her past still affected her to a person she barely knew.

Did King Edmund know about her banishment? Or did he just assume it? How much of her life had Banriel told the royals?!

Syrena walked around the village looking for the elf. She wasn't ready to see him yet, knowing he would question her again, this time privately as she would've liked since the beginning in the first place, but at that moment she was consumed with anger

As predicted, Banriel was found in the stables talking to Nivorlas about the exciting trip he was about to dive into with the Rulers of old. Syrena walked towards him with closed fists and heavy steps.

Syrena grabbed him by the collar of his vest pushing him agaisnt the wall.

''So how much do they know about my life, huh??!" She barked angrily, Nivorlas touched her shoulder trying to take her off of Banriel but she pushed him away "Do they know about what happened in Evengard??" Syrena asked while she kept her arm pressing against his chest with all the strength she had. Banriel didn't even had time to understand what she was going on about. "Do they know I why I was banished?" She gritted her teeth.

"Syrena, stop!" Nivorlas finaly was able to make her back away from his friend.

''What in the demon's realm are you talking about??'' Banriel argued, massaging his back where it hit on the wall behind him.

Syrena calmed down, breathing slowly looking at Banriel with fiery eyes.

''Banriel..." She begun, closing her eyes shut, and taking a deep breath "What do they know about me?'' The question came in a quiet voice now.

''No more than they should...for now'' He answered angrily. Banriel knew Syrena had troubles losing her temper, wich had led to unthinkable and unreversable choices in the past.

Syrena's expressions suddenly changed after she realized she had attacked her best friend for no reason. Her façade demonstrated instant regret.

''Let's see...They know you are the princess, they know you've been living with us for a couple of years now'' The elf sarcasticly started rasing his finger for each sentence he mentioned, as if he was counting them ''and I think they've notice already that your relationship with your sibling is not something to be envied, my lady'' Banriel conclueded bitter.

She looked at her feet embarassed. "I'm sorry..." She whispered.

''You need to be more rational about this whole...situation" He advised, ''otherwise they will be finding out because of you...Your feelings towards the matters concerning your brother and Narnia are so easy to read'' Banriel finished, fixing his eyes directly on her

Syrena felt like that was a punch in the stomach. She also felt like she deserved it.

Averting her eyes to Nivorlas, who was watching the whole situation in an unconfortable silence, she tried swallow back the knot forming on her throat.

''Stop thinking with your heart and think with your head...Another reason why you should come with us." Banriel made her look back a him.

She blinked away a single tear, and whiped her face with the back of her hand, all the memories of Rilian banishing her in front of the generals, in front of the soldiers and her people, after she did everything she could to save Narnia from their last threat, were coming back to her. How she had to survive the first months alone in the wilderness, being hunt by their enemies, everything she had to endure until she found a safe place to live

''Give me one reason to go with you. One reason other than he is my brother and the only family I have left. I rescued him before and look at the thanks I got'' Her anger was buiding up again. Her mental state was very unstable and Ban knew it.

''I just gave you a reason: Think with your head. Don't let emotions stop you from doing what you want to do. You know that you want to save him'' Banriel said and then got out of the stable being followed by his friend.

Syrena stood there for some minutes, alone with her thoughts. She touched the elfstone that Myleala gave her, she wore as a necklace. Syrena had also worked on polishing three more stones that afternoon that she thought it could be useful.

The elfstones were powerful and each one of them had a function. It has been a while since she had seen a seeking stone, until Myleala gave it to her. That especificaly stone carried the power of finding any place or thing the bearer desired. In that afternoon, when she was given that stone, Syrena knew it could be crutial for the journey to find Rilian, tought elfstones were hard to master...only elves and humans gifted with the stones were able to release their power.

Syrena was planing on giving the necklace to Banriel, so it could help them find her brother. Now she was questioning if she should give it to him, or actually go with them. ''think with your head, and not your heart'' she heard his words repeatedly inside her head.

"Oh, princ...Syrena! I've found you!" She heard an accentuated voice calling her.

"Your Majesty. How can I help you?" Syrena asked the girl.

"Please, just Lucy is fine" The Queen said wearing a sweet smile. Syrena liked her, she was kind and revigorant. The type of presence she needed more in her life. "Well, I just wanted to thank you for helping us. Even if you won't come tomorrow" Syrena was ready to open her mouth to say she had literally done nothing but fight her brother when Lucy started again "I suppose you know I was friends with your father?" She asked tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Oh!" Syrena was actually suprised to be talking about her father for the second time in less than an hour. So many years trying to avoid her brother's topic, she forgot about her parents. " Yes, I know. I just told your brother, my father's told splendorous things about you and and the adventures you've once shared" She adimited.

"It's crazy to be talking to you. it's been four years in my world since the last time I've set foot in Narnia, yet here I am looking at the full grown daughter of a friend..." Lucy said with a shy smile. "I feel like an old lady." She concluded chuckling.

Syrena knew how time passed diferent in their world. She's learned that from her father. She used to not belive that, but when she met Eustace and Jill, and Eustace looked so suprised seeing Caspian as an old man, Syrena couldn't doubt it anymore.

That thought also made her wonder what Eustace had told about her father's last days to his cousins. About how he got depressed and mad after loosing Lilliandil and after Rillian spent years missing. About how Syrena had to watch her father languish before here eyes. All his glory ended in a whimper.

A lot of crazy things happened today'' Syrena awsered.

''I am glad to be here though'' Lucy said happy and. ''Everytime we come back it means something bad is happening, but I can't help but feel glad to be home''

Syrena smiled at her. She liked Lucy and hoped the girl wouldn't grow tired of talking to her about anything she felt confortable about. Lucy missed someone to talk to about Narnia. A female figure, not her brothers. Wich made Syrena wonder again, where her sister Susan could be.

''I am glad you are here too..Lucy''

''What do you think of them?'' Peter asked his brother, it was just the two of them alone in the house arranging furs and blankets on the floor so they all could sleep.

''Tall, welcoming...Mysterious'' Edmund responded without paying much attention to the brother.

''They look a lot like humans'' Peter said sitting down on his makeshift bed ''and yet they are so diferent'' He continued with a distant dreamy look.

''Yes'' Edmund responded coldly. He wanted to fill his mind with something other than...Syrena? and their conversation and the reason why that girl seemed so disquiet about everything. Obviously he too would be constantly nervous after finding out one of his relatives were in danger but there was something else about her...and it bothered him, almost as much it was bothering him why she seemed like such a mystery to him. And why did he cared so much? Edmund had thought about that question enough to know it wasn't just because she was Caspian's daughter.

''Are you alright?'' Peter was observing something has changed his brother's behavior.

''Aah...Yes, just tired'' Edmund anwsered. ''Where is Lucy?'' He asked changing the subject.

''Probably out there making new friends...She told me she was looking for the princess'' Peter said laying down.

''Why?'' His question came a little harsher than he intended.

''I don't know. You know Lucy, aways sticks with the girls if she has the chance. She's probably tired of being surounded by men all the time'' He awsered. Edmund just shrugged in response. ''What do you think of her?'' Peter asked again.

''Of Lucy?!'' Edmund lifted a brow to his brother.

''No, you idiot!'' Peter said laughing. ''Syrena'' Edmund breathed heavily not sure about how to begin to form a complete opinion about the girl who was surronding his thoughts since they met.

''She's...a riddle'' He anwsered laying besides Peter facing the ceiling.

''I belive she has a good heart'' He heard his brother say ''Even though it is obvious something serious happened for her to be here, away from her family. They woudn't have taken her in if she wasn't a good person, right?''

Edmund kept looking at the ceiling ''She doesn't want to look for her own brother so I don't know Pete.'' He anwsered and them yawned ''and I don't think she wants us to know either.''

Peter faced him with a puzzled look. Edmund noticed and said ''Just an impression I've got.'' He said matter of factly.

They were up before the sun. Lucy was tired due to the lack of sleep, but seemed so excited to ride a horse again.

''This is Verel'' Banriel said patting the white mare while Edmund and Peter where reading the other horses ''She has never been riden much further out the village, but she is the youngest mere in our stables so Your Majesty doesn't need to worry about her disposition'' Ban told Lucy with a smile, and then helped her up on the animal.

''Is everything settled?'' Peter asked Banriel. The elf looked at the direction Syrena was supposed to come. Edmund followed his gaze knowing who he was waiting ''Do you think we should wait a little longer?'' He asked Ban.

Banriel looked at the Just King and then to the horizont, the sun was already rising. ''Let's get going. If we want to get there in at least two days, we should begin to ride now'' the elf conclueded obviously disapointed. The elf and the siblings got on the horses and started their journey to Cair Paravel. Edmund looked behind him on last time expecting Syrena to appear. But no one came. He clicked his tongue and his horse started following the others.

''Wait!!" Edmund heard a female voice behind him, he turned instantly watiching a dark skinned elf aproaching them.

''What is it, Myleala?'' Banriel asked in the dsitance. The woman caught up and stopped to chatch her breath once she came close to them.

''I meant to give you these yesterday but I wasn't finished polishing them'' Myleala handed Ban three blue stones.

''What are those?'' Edmund asked Ban looking at the shinning rocks.

''The elfstones...Magical stones'' Ban told Edmund looking directly at the stones.

''What do they do?'' Peter asked right after.

''Magic'' Edmund responded sarcasticly. Peter rolled his eyes to his brother.

''Each one of these have a different function'' Myleala explained the siblings, passing their eyes through the three of the humans, and resting them on King Peter for a couple of seconds ''the blue stones can control the four elements, and protects you from any dark magic, if you have enough elf blood, or if the stones are given to you willingly...wich they are now'' and then, she faced Banriel again ''You will know what to do with them when the time comes'' she secreted to the elf.

''Thank you, Myleala'' Ban said looking at the stones. ''They will be very helpful'' He smiled to his friend.

''I figured so.'' She gave a smug smile, before turning to make her way back to the village. ''Oh and I would travel slowly in the first couple of minutes if I were you'' She advised all of them in a louder tone while she was distancing herself from the group.

''What did she mean by that?'' Lucy asked Ban.

''I have no ideia. She loves talking in charades'' The elf awnsered not giving much attention to what his friend.

''Let's get going, people!'' Peter shouted, already riding in front of them.

The group started heading right into the Western Woods ready for another test to save Narnia.

The journey started pretty quiet, until Lucy and Ban engaged in a conversation about England, and how she would never get used with time passing different between the words.

Not long after, Edmund heard another galloping approaching. Turning his head behind him again, he saw the dark haired woman apear in the horizont carring the sword she used to fight him on their first encouter, wearing trousers, a tunic and a cloak above it all. Her hair was braided on the side.

''Your majesties'' She greeted the siblings ''Big ears'' She greeted Banriel who was looking at her with a mix of pride and surprise. "'What a lovely morning to rescue a king, isn't it?'' She asked rhetorically. 'Alrigh. She's definetly got some weird sense of humor' Edmund thought to himself.

''Took you long enough'' Bandon provoqued his friend, galloping even further from the village and into the woods.

''Oh, Syrena! I am delighted to see you will be joining us!'' Lucy exclaimed, her bubbly personality showing.

''Of course she would. Her life would be miserable in Rivenorm without me'' Banriel joked.

''Don't flatter yourself, Ban.'' She played along ''I am here because I know you woudn't make it two days away from me'' Syrena reached for the necklace around her neck. ''And also because we don't have to go to Cair Paravel to find Rilian, when you have the new barrier of the seeking stone with you'' She lifted the green shinny elf stone that Myleala gave her on the day before for them all to see

After the two teenagers felt the strange push inside the train, they woke up surrounded by trees in the familiar realm they haven't seen in two years. Jill was still disoriented, but Eustace immedialty recognized the king they once saved from the Emerald Witch tied to a tree, ten feet away from them. Rilian's eyes grew wild after noticing his friends from another world hidden behind bushes watching him with a preocupied look.

Unting Rilian from the tree was pretty complicated. The calormenes helding him captive were taking turns watching him, while the other men were either sleeping or inside of a tent discusting loudly about subject that they couldn't hear.

Luckly for their plan, the three guards weren't paying much attention to their prisioner, and it was dark, wich made it easier for them to stay hidden while discussing what to do.

Jill told Eustace about her plan: She would try to untie Rilian from behind, staying hidden behind the tree. Once he was free, Rilian and Eustace would wait for the best moment to strike. It would be two against three, since Jill wouldn't be able to knock a calormen soldier out, but it was a risk they would have to take.

Eustace hated his friend's plan, he was about to say that he too couldn't fight a trained soldier, but before he opened his mouth to protest, his blond friend was already leaving, with her head down, from bush to bush, until she reached the tree. Jill then noticed it wouldn't be easy to cut the ties off. Rilian whispered to her to look for a pointy rock so it she could try and cut the rope instead of untie it.

During the process of getting up, Jill made unintentional sudden moves, and the noises drove the attention of the guards close to where the king and Jill were.

Eustace who was watching everything hidden, mentally cursed Jill for spoiling her own plan. Reaching for a hudge rock next to him, he prepeared to strike along with Rilian. He kept in mind the few experiences he had in combat before, and knowing the basics of hitting one's head from behind, Eustace focoused all the strenght he had on his right arm, and hit one of the man on his head knocking him on the ground.

The other two guards immediatly stopped going after the noise Jill made and turned their heads to the blonde boy in front of them.

Eustace couldn't fight as well as his cousins, but oh he could run. And run he did once he realized Rilian was still unable to help him.

The guards chased him right after, and Jill took advantage of it to finaly finish what she's started.

'How stupid of them to leave their prisioner unguarded' Jill thought while using the sword of the fallen soldier to cut off the rope that was keeping Rilian on that bloody tree. 'How many people does it take to catch Scrubb?'

After being relised, the king held the sword and chased the guards who were after Eustace.

The boy was hidden behind a rock, layed on the dirty ground, praying the two calormenes woudn't find him. He heard the steps coming closer. Eustace closed his eyes shut and controled his breath, until the scream of a man made him open his eyes again. Carefuly looking above the rock, he saw Rilian standing with a sword stained with the blood of the calormene that was laid at his feet. Eustace got up to say thank you or perhaps "hello" but when he opened his mouth, Jill shouted:

"Rilian, behind you!!" The dark haired king turned around in a blink of an eye clashing his sword with the third calormene guard.

The fight lasted less than ten seconds before the dark skinned soldier also dropped dead on the floor.

"I don't know about you people" Eustace said, breathing heavily and looking at his friends "but I think we should get as far away from this camp as possible" He finished his steatment already making his way out of the woods.

"Not yet" Rilian responded, grabbing the other sword of the ground and handing it to Eustace.

"Oh sure! Let's fight some more calormenes all by ourselves" Eustace blured out rolling his eyes.

"They still have Jewel" Rilian explained, "Let's go get him, and then we can go"

"How though?" Jill asked, visibly worried about the unicorn "we can't fight them all"

Rilian pointed at the calormene guear "If we look like them we might be able to get inside" The king picked up the helmet off the ground and put on it "The rest shall be easy"

"As easy as disquised missions ought to be" Eustace mumbled quietly.

"Oh! quit being a pessimist, Scrubb!" Jill complained at his friend, while helping Rilian put on the enemie's armour.

"I think we should think this throught" Eustace opinioed preocupied "What do we do once we get Jewel?" Eustace pointed out.

"We get the hell out of there" Rilian said as if it would be the easiest think in the world.

Eustace squeezed his lips and and nodded his head in agreement "Sounds like a great idea" He said ironically "What then?"

Rilian stopped looking at him, adjusting the chain mail on his body "then we go to Cair Paravel".
