History
Void Seekers Chaos Space Marine warband was a former loyalist successor chapter of Ultramarines created in M38. In order to better improve the quality of life among the eastern region, former Chapter Master Anastasios and his chapter used their authorities to fight against corruption among multiple planets from 200.M41-220.M41. Deposing and executing huge amounts of corrupted planet governors, depraved military officials and evil Ecclesiarchy clergy. Local government-criminal networks were completely wiped out. Void Seekers even reformed all local bureaucracy into a probity and effective government. The chapter provided different types of social welfare, including free public education by chapter librarians and free medical service by apothecaries in multiple backward worlds.
However, Anastasios was completely unaware that his action would bring doom to his Chapter and those he cherished since he created numberless enemies. Those people that Anastasios purged include the families of the influential Imperial family, inquisitors and relatives of many Ecclesiarchy Priests. Despite never ruling these reformed worlds, the High lords of Terra and the holy Inquisition feared that Anastasios was ambitious in keeping expanding influence and secretly made all these planets as his puppet states. Imperial officials also feared that these over efficient government would eventually rebel with Void Seekers. With numerous fake evidence and slander from corrupted nobles, in order to prevent the rise of a potential powerful Chaos warlord, the Imperium accused Anastasios and Void Seekers as heretics, renegades and traitors secretly in 225.M41. The Inquisition accompanied by Minotaurs summoned all the Void Seekers to halt their campaigns and gathered the whole Chapter back at their homeworld, Hellas for "important meeting". Then when all the Void Seekers arrived, the Inquisitor ordered them to surrender their weapons and vessels for the triad for heresy and rebellion. Such action utterly insulted and tainted the honor of Void Seekers as one of the most loyal and humble servants of the God Emperor and the Imperium. Such complete nonsense was enough to make a saint swear, being accused for traitors for doing absolutely nothing wrong, not even the ever friendly Anastasios and Void Seekers can withstand such insult. They asked for explanation and refused to disarm. The Inquisitor and Minotaurs took the insubordination as an open act of heresy and engaged with Void Seekers head on. Void Seekers was shocked at first and reacted swiftly once they attempted to start orbital bombardment of their homeworld. Void Seekers were forced to return fire for self defence and protect the civilians of their homeworld. They understood there would be no turn back but no sacrifice too great to protect those they cherish. Being in the homefront, the Void Seekers fought ever fierce with the support of fearless civilians and chapter auxiliaries.
The chapter was able to repel Imperial attack for a short time but at unbearable cost. The Chapter Master Anastasios was killed in action and 6 Company was destroyed during the planetary defence. Only about 280 Astartes survived and countless auxiliary casualties. Luckily, the remaining apothecaries were able to collect most of the gene seed for rebuilding later but Chapter was currently in blink of annihilation if no further action was taken. The remaining Void Seekers all unanimously appointed the seasoned Captain Partas as the new Chapter Master due to his zeal, cunning in their home defence. The new Chapter Master Partas was well aware that the Inquisition reinforcements will be back within a few days. He immediately gathered all the remaining space vessels and ordered the complete evacuation of the planet. The massive exodus was completed within a few days due to the population significantly decreased to only 35% after the home defence battle. Once made sure not a single human soul was left behind, not a single material was left unchecked, the Void Seekers and the remaining survivors of Hellas set sail into the warp just a day before the Inquisition reinforcements came back. Luckily, they lost track of the Void Seekers as they traveled deep into void in order to find a new home.
However, they were lost in the warp. When they finally finished the warp voyage and finally get back to real space, it was already 940.M41 which meant they had been lost for 715 years. They encountered a Red Corsairs fleet under attack by a massive dark eldar fleet. Void Seekers decided to help the Red Corsairs to repeal the dark eldar attack and ended in completely obliterating the foul xeno forces. The Red Corsairs fleet master was very grateful and offered any help that he could give. He told what had happened during their lost in the warp, The Vaxi Atrocity in 731.M41, First Tyrannic War from 745 to 746.M41, Sabbat Worlds Crusade from 755.M41 to 780.M41, Siege of Vraks from 813.M41 to 830.M41, Massacre at Sanctuary 101 in 897.M41 and most importantly the Badab War from 901 to 912.M41. He invited the Void Seekers to New Badab in the Maelstrom as a token for their unconditional help, promised them fame ,recognition , a new home and support from the Tyrant of Badab - Huron Blackheart.
When wanderers of the Void Seekers and Hellas refugees met the Tyrant in his palace, he was very grateful and revealed that the Red Corsairs fleet that Void Seekers just saved was actually transporting some of the most precious xeno relics that he desired for so long. Without the help of Void Seekers, these relics would surely be lost and got his subordinates killed. Tyrant of Badab - Huron Blackheart never forgot his friends especially those who had helped him and his subordinates. The Tyrant was also very sympathetic to the "rebellion" of Void Seekers and those who were betrayed by the Imperium just like him. In order to repay Void Seekers, showing support and his gratitude , the Tyrant gifted Void Seekers a small planet within the edge of Maelstrom for them to settle as their new homeworld. They signed a treaty of alliance and Huron promised the Void Seekers protection from Red Corsairs. The Tyrant also promised them autonomy but In return, Void Seekers needed to pay a reasonable amount of tribute which could be given in form of food, raw materials, industrial products and spoils of war. Void Seekers also needed to supply soldiers to the tyrant when needed and fully assist him in war.
Beliefs and Goals
Void Seekers dislike the Chaos Gods and refuse to see them as true allies. They shun and loathe those who completely submit themselves to them. They are well aware of the dangers of Chaos Gods' ever-shifting nature. Yet, they also realize the importance of the ruinous power as a tool to survive in such an unforgiving universe. Therefore, most Void Seekers would only pray and praise the Dark Gods when needed, such as gaining blessings and power during combat and safety during wrap travel. Void Seekers battle brothers are also allowed to follow a single chaos god but not complete devotion. Therefore, although there are Khorne,Nurgle,Slaanesh worshippers, there are no berserkers, plague marines or noise marines in the Void Seekers warband.
The warband hated the corrupted Imperium who betrayed their loyal servants and innocents, they did not yet completely abandon their beliefs of the God Emperor even though they saw him as an arrogant deceiver and the worst and most hated evil tyrant of all mankind. They still fanatically hate Xenos and zealotry supported human superiority, dominance and purity. Since the Void Seekers still see themselves as guardians of humanity, they will give a single chance for any human enemies to surrender and join their ranks before combat. If they refuse, complete annihilation is assured. Void Seekers also take no survivors to those they deemed corrupted, evil and unworthy of redemption. For those honorable human enemy they like, they will always leave a simple message to them,"Will you join us soon?Brother...", implied that open arms are always ready for them. Void Seekers also see killing "stubborn Corpse Emperor worshipers" as helping them end their misery slavery to the force Imperium which is an act of mercy and kindness.
The warband hails the first Warmaster, Horus as the greatest champion of mankind and a selfless revolutionist. They loathe the current Black Legion "Warmaster" Abaddon the Despoiler as they think he is nothing but a usurper of failure who tainted the legacy of Horus but they also acknowledge Abaddon's power. Therefore, the Void Seekers always wanted to trade and have positive diplomacy with fellow black legion warbands in order to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
Void Seekers have a strong sense of tradition and pay great respects to their ancestors. Honour and brotherhood were the core value of the warband. They may be evil and cruel monsters but they will never betray their fellow brothers, allies and will even sacrifice themselves to save a lowly mortal servant under their command. They will never forget their benefactors and will seize every opportunity to repay the favour.
The ultimate goal for the Void Seekers is to overthrow the evil and corrupted Imperium, create a new human dominated empire of peace and prosperity. A new age that space marines are no longer needed to fight but as mentors and teachers of humanity, or as a defence force to keep Chaos Gods in check to prevent their excessive intervention. However, this goal is nearly impossible in the cruel and dark cold void. The void Seekers know it far too well. Therefore, the current goal for Void Seekers is to protect the population of their new homeworld, Neo Hellas at their best while gaining further resources for the future expansion of the warband.
Organisations
Void Seekers is a perfectly ordered warband and currently consist of about 500 full battle brothers as they are still not yet completely recovered from their previous Odyssey campaigns and the betrayal of the Imperium.. They are the masters of void warfare, raiding operations and planetary defence. They respect Codex Astartes but never follow it even on the first day of Chapter. They have clear army organization and structure but each individual astartes are very flexible for their role. Void Seekers have highly trained and organised chapter auxiliary forces. The forces are all composed of the fearless Neo Hellas residents(who are the mixture of original Hellas colonists/refugees and hellenized locals).
Void Seekers warband Serfs/Ratings/Auxiliaries always are armed with power spear, power sword, plasma javelins and breaching shields, protected by flak armor and helmets. Their clothings are very similar to the ancient "Greco-Roman" fashion of the Holy Terra more than 40000 years ago. It is said that every auxiliary is as the same standard of a pure blooded Cadian Guardsman. Void Seekers warband also fielded with elite auxiliary regiment, for example the "Kinsman Cataphracts". Genetic modified horse like beast fully covered with super heavy frak armor as well as the rider, armored with long power sabre, power lance and heavy breaching shield. It is said that a single "Kinsman Cataphract" is equal to 10 Death Riders of Krieg.
Warband Combat Doctrine
From the very moment the first chapter master Mavrikios suggested the "Astartes & Auxiliary Coordination Doctrine" and published the chapter's own Codex "Strategikon", Void Seekers became the masters of combined warfare battle tactics hammer and anvil tactics. During combat, the mortal auxiliaries and Havocs will act as main battle line to spin down or slow down enemy forces in the front, while other tactical and assault marines perform precisive, decisive flanking maneuvers and smash the opponent with a single devastating, follow by a complete encirclement maneuver to completely obliterate the foe.
Although Void Seekers are proud and honorable warriors, they never loathe stealth and infiltration. Since Void Seekers care about life and well-being among their ranks(both Astartes and mortals) like a family, they will do their best to avoid any unnecessary casualties. Therefore, stealth is always an option when necessary, even if they are light years away from the real infiltration masters of Alpha Legion.
"Tactical retreat ain't fleeing if you return another day", "Better to fight another day then die in a meaningless meat grinder" and "Vengeance is never too late" are also the combat doctrine of Void Seekers. You may beat them in battle or forced them to retreat but they will guarantee their return sooner or later. When the time comes, Void Seekers will assure you with extra 110000% of wrath and rage.
Warband Fleet
Void Seekers fleet mostly consist of rather "newer" imperial ships. Their fleet and planetary defence fleet consist a sizable among of imperial light cruisers, cruisers. As well as well maintained spaces marine vessels like strike cruisers and battle barges.
Neo Hellas
Neo Hellas was a feral world before and swiftly became a Civilised World after the arrival of the Void Seekers and Hellas colonist/refugees. Neo Hellas residents are all the descendants of refugees/colonists evacuated from the old Hellas after they were betrayed by the Imperium, many of them are mixed with "feral" natives.
The geography and climate of the planet both Neo Hellas and original Hellas is very similar to the ancient Mediterranean of Holy Terra.
Although Void Seekers space marines have absolute authority and are the actual rulers of the planet, they treat every mortal under their rule with respect. They allowed limited democracy and have a mortal representative government formed by the elites of Neo Hellas citizens. Void Seekers have final decisions of any politics as it is still not the right time to perform full democracy on the planet.
Neo Hellas citizens enjoy sports and will hold a planetary sporting event in honor of 4 Chaos Gods every 4 years. Interestingly, these tournaments involve no killing but ordinary sports competition like running, swimming and Neo Hellas's famous "Greco-Roman Wrestling" and Pankration.
All Neo Hellas citizens are highly trained soldiers. They are all conscripted as auxiliaries once they are born and are forever really for war. They all will fight to their last breath with no pity, no remorse and no fear to defend their home planet and as the ever loyal servants of Void Seekers.
Notable Campaigns
First Eastern Odyssey (late M39): A crusade led by Chapter Master Alexandros who purged approximately 1000 Tau controlled worlds.

Eventually, when the 3 xenos forces were too exhausted to fight any more, the Void Seekers grabbed the chance and destroyed all of them in a single devastating strike in the name of the Dark Gods, with very minimal casualties.
