So, I'm putting this on Showing Something New and posting this as a separate story since it wasn't Robin that was showing her something. Either way I like it and think it's cute.

Enjoy

It took less time for the tower to be built than they all thought. Apparently the city really was desperate enough to let teenagers be the defenders of their city.

Right now, Robin was walking through the tower and looking in some of the newly finished rooms and figuring out what they could be used for.

"Hmm," Robin stood at the door of a fairly large room. 'This room doesn't have any windows so we can't really use it as an activity room.' He started walking in and looking around, mentally measuring the room. 'Maybe another storage room?' He smiled at that thought. 'Yeah, not like we have enough of those already.' He went over to the wall and turned on the light. 'There's not many outlets in here, so a computer lab is out.' He walked to the other side of the room to gain some rough measurements. 'It could be a filing room. Or an evidence room.'

He walked back to the door, turned off the light, and continued walking down the halls. 'An evidence room seems like a good idea.'

As he got to the end of the hallway and entered the main room, he had to blink a few times to make sure he wasn't seeing things. There sitting at the kitchen island was Raven, completely surrounded by food with Cyborg on the other side of the counter.

"Whatcha guys doing?" Robin asked walking over to one of the chairs by Raven.

"Hey Rob!" Cyborg greeted, opening a box of cheese it's. "I'm introducing Rae to some of our childhood food she missed out on."

Robin nodded and looked at the counter. It was indeed covered in snacks and candy that he too ate when he was little.

He took a seat next to Raven and reached for one of the pieces of candy. "Pixie sticks, I haven't had these in years."

Cyborg swatted his hand away from the candy. Robin looked up at him confused.

"Raven is going to try it first. If she doesn't like it, you can have it."

Robin leaned back in his seat looking back at the table. Trying to see if there was anything he could eat without getting swatted again.

"So what had she tried so far?"

"Not much. Just some cereals and snacks." Cyborg poured a bowl a cheese it's and handed them to Raven.

"Did she like them?" Robin asked as Raven munched on some cheese it's.

"So far she's liked all the snacks but the only cereal she liked was Honey Nut Cheerios." Cyborg pointed to the cereal off to the side that she didn't like.

"Fruit Loops?" Robin mock gasped and turned to Raven. "It's a classic. How do you not like them?"

Raven faced him with a glare. "I expected them to taste like fruit. They did not."

"Girl, you've got to get over the Fruit Loops." Cyborg sighed, pulling a Danimals from the fridge. "Did you like the cheese it's?" He asked before Raven went on her rant about Fruit Loops.

Raven nodded. "They were good. Kind of taste like Goldfish." She pushed the bowl to the side and accepted the Danimals from Cyborg.

"You should shake that before you open it." Robin suggested.

"Why?"

"Because it's yogurt."

She looked at him with a blank face.

"It's like ketchup. The water separates so you need to shake it so it's not all gross."

"Great," Raven started shaking the bottle, "I don't think I will like this."

She shook the bottle for a few seconds and then opened the lid and looked inside. She sniffed it and scrunched her face.

Both Robin and Cyborg laughed at her reaction. Cyborg full on belly laughing and Robin lightly chuckling.

Raven sent them both a glare and drank a bit as they settled down.

It took a few seconds for her to make up her mind as she mulled it over. Making a face of displeasure, she put the bottle down and pushed it away from her keeping the face.

"So," Robin leaned forward towards her in his chair, "how was it?"

"I did not like that at all." Raven's gaze still on the bottle.

"I'd say." Cyborg resumed his laughter, lightly this time. "What was it this time? The flavor or texture."

"Mostly the texture but, just, no." Raven looked at him and reached for her water bottle. "How did you guys eat this stuff?"

"Well in all honesty, it tastes better when you're little." Robin replied, reaching for her Danimals. He took a sip and made a face similar to Raven's. "Yep, definitely better as a kid."

"Here," Cyborg said from the fridge. He pulled out a box of ice cream push pops. "You'll like these." He handed one to Raven and Robin and took one from himself.

Raven took the ice cream and looked at it skeptically.

"Don't worry," Robin said, "this is ice cream." He took the paper off the top and pushed the stick up, pushing the ice cream to the top.

Raven copied him and tore off her paper and pushed the stick. She was a bit surprised as to how much force she needed to push with to get the ice cream to come up but was glad it was a good she was familiar with.

"So, what's the verdict on this?" Cyborg sat down on the other side of Raven and ate his push pop with vigor.

"It's good." Raven answered. Her ice cream started to melt rapidly. She reached for her empty cheese it's bowl and pushed the rest of the ice cream in the bowl. "This melts a lot faster than regular ice cream."

"Well that's because you ate it to slow." Cyborg chimed in throwing away his now empty push pop.

Raven gave him a look that made him chuckle. "Hey, some ice cream is like that." Cyborg held his hands up in surrender. "At least you didn't get it all over you like Rob here."

"What?" Raven turned to her left and saw Robin, hands and arms dripping with rainbow ice cream, trying to frantically clean it up.

"Have a little accident there?" Raven smirked.

"Yeah yeah," Robin shot back, rushing to the sink. "My stick broke and it all just came out."

Robin threw away what remained of his push pop and tried to rinse off his gloves.

"I don't think that's going to come out that easily." Cyborg said. "You're probably going to have to soak them."

"Yeah, I thought so." Robin sighed. He filled up a bowl with warm water and placed his gloves in, mixing in some dish soap.

"So," Robin turned around after he finished preparing his gloves, "what's next?"

"Well I have some smile fries in the oven now but they still need a few more minutes." Cyborg said, looking at the timer on the oven. "Do you two have anything specific in mind?"

"I don't really care." Raven replied, getting a spoon for her melted ice cream and returning to her seat.

Robin looked at the table still covered in food. "What hasn't she tried yet?"

"Let's see." Cyborg joined him. "There's the little bites muffins,"

"Oo, those were good." Robin commented.

"They sure were! Anyway, pop tarts, apple sauce, gummies, juice boxes-"

"Those used to give me the biggest headaches." Robin interrupted picking up a juice box. "It was really disappointing."

"I bet it was. Some uncrustables, cheese sticks, takis, Oreos, nutter butters, other chips, Hostess cupcakes, you know, the good stuff."

"Hmm, it's a shame that they discontinued some of the originals like yogos."

"Yeah," Cyborg sighed happily, "those were the best."

Ding

"Op, the fries are done! Rob, can you get plates and some ketchup and stuff." Cyborg talked over his shoulder as he took the pan out of the oven and sat it on the stove.

"Sure." Robin walked over to the cabinets first and got out 3 plates. He opened the utensil drawer then paused his hand over the forks.'Nah, these are French fries. We don't need these.' He closed the drawer and handed the plates to Cyborg who put 4 fries on each plate. Opening the fridge Robin pulled out the ketchup, ranch, and polynesian sauce.

"Alright," Robin approached the island, "we have some ketchup, ranch, and polynesian sauce."

"Since when did we get polynesian sauce?" Cyborg asked, gathering the plates.

"When we ordered Chick-fil-A the other day. I just got the bottle of it so we don't have thousands of those little packets everywhere." Robin sat down in his spot setting down the condiments.

"Man I wish I knew that." Cyborg shook his head and handed Raven her plate. "Here you go Rae."

Raven took the plate and set in down in front of her, looking at the smiles greeting her.

"What's wrong?" Cyborg asked sitting down after he handed Robin his plate. "Is this going to be like the yogurt cups?"

"What happened with the yogurt cups?" Robin asked, putting some ketchup on his plate.

"Nothing happened." Raven mumbled, eyes still on the fries.

Robin looked at her and then at Cyborg. Cyborg looked at him and explained. "She almost threw up."

"What?" Robin looked from Cyborg to Raven. She still had her head down, not meeting either of their gazes.

"Yeah. It was the consistency of it." Cyborg reached for the Polynesian sauce. "She ate the m 's that came with it though, so I didn't push her to try it again." He looked softly at Raven. "But these are basically French fries, so you should be fine." He placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I know," Raven brushed his hand off gently. "It's just that it's, weird, to see them with faces." She took one from her plate and lifted it up. "I mean, this doesn't look like a happy face."

Her smile fry, if you could even call it that, had looked like it had seen many things.

"Yeah, they sometimes look, disturbed." Robin held up one of his own fries, observing the demented face it had.

"Mmm, delicious." Cyborg exclaimed, eating one of his fries. "Rae, you have to try these with the Polynesian sauce. It's so good."

"Yeah, that stuff is good," Robin agreed. "But I'd stay away from the ranch if you can't do yogurt." He suggested.

Raven flushed a little as she put some Polynesian sauce on her plate. "I wasn't planning on trying it anyway. It smells bad."

"Hey, don't diss on ranch like that!" Cyborg faked anger. "I used to eat tons of that stuff when I was little."

"That's gross." Raven scrunched up her face.

Robin laughed. "Yeah, it's not my favorite, but eh." Robin finished his last fry and looked over to Raven. "So, how are they?"

"They're pretty good." She answered, earning a smile from both boys. "I still like normal ones better."

"Yeah, but these are a childhood classic." Robin stood up and gathered everyone's plates and put them in the dishwasher.

"You up for more Rae?" Cyborg asked, getting you and putting the sauces away.

"No, I think I'm done for today." Raven answered, leaning back in her chair. "I'm going to go meditate. Thank you for this." And with that, she was gone.

Robin and Cyborg spend the next few minutes cleaning and putting stuff away.

"So," Robin started leaning against one of the counters grinning a bit, "what was the culprit that almost made her throw up?"

Cyborg smirked lightly. "It was one of those Yocrunch things where you can put m and stuff in it. Honestly caught me off guard there." Cyborg laughed. "We were both freaking out there."

Robin joined him in the laughter.

"So, what were you thinking about for time?" Robin asked once he gained some composure.

Cyborg smirked. "Takis. Flaming hot."

So, in conclusion, yogurt is gross and is not fun when you eat it and gag on it. I feel like Raven would have that same reaction since they obviously didn't have that consistency on Azarath and it's a normal reaction.

Smilie fries are AMAZING! That was one of the only reason why I went to Bob Evans so much when I was little. But then we found them at the store and we didn't really ever go back. They are the ultimate childhood potato

Cheese it's are also an important food from nearly everyone's childhood.

I had a hard time with finding childhood snacks because most of them have been discontinued for a while (yogos for example) so it wouldn't fit in the story if I added them.

I also made an Instagram account @sarcazarath_metrion. I post updates about my works and do polls every Monday. I would really appreciate if y'all would give that a follow to.

Anyway, as always, leave a review and drop any suggestions that you guys might have for Showing Something New
